Marion, Your arm sounds EXACTLY like my sons!!! he got bit right on the elbow, said it looked kinda like a fly??? only quite small...was very swollen for about three days, then started to go down....I tried to get him to go to the doctor, but as he has no ins. he did not want to (altho he would have if it had not started to go down)

He has what "they" say is a very high natural bacteria count on his skin, we all have it to some degree...his is higher than most.....any little scratch, bite..etc......and he swells up like crazy....when he was little and got mosquito bit pretty bad one time....the bites were the size of those mini chocolate eggs at easter !!! it was very ugly!! all those bumps all over his arms...scared the sh@% out of me!!

when he does something like that and goes to the doctors they usually give him antibiotics, in a high dose to start then taper down.....

and some times you can be bit by some thing and you can be allergic to what ever plant they were just on.....I got stung by a bee one time and had a severe reaction, as it never happened before My doctor said I was probably allergic to what the bee had been on, and sure enough we were at a soccer game when it happened, and whole field of wild flowers next door, including wild chamomile, and golden rod..and I am allergic to both!!

Oh my... Thunder.. that reminds me. Kel's buddy got bitten by a spider and it almost killed him! Wife had to rush him to the hospital when he developed a severe allergic reaction. When they got there, his bp wasn't normal and he complained of being dizzy.
When your son starts wheezing.. or his face starts to swell.. force him to go to ER.

OH I know Jaye, believe me...I watch him like crazy....he has never had any of those troubles, just swells up terrible, at bite area....thanks.....sweet dreams

Auntie M-I just watched a special on Staph infections. It is a little bug that gets in your cut or scratch-really gross:( I sure hope they figure out what is wrong soon so you aren't in pain any longer:( But Staph starts out small-the scratch or cut, and grows larger over a couple days. Not sure how yours went, but you didn't say anything about a scratch or cut, so I am unsure....will be waiting to see what they find out. I watch those medical mysteries on DHC all the time;)

Kathy-I do hope that you are taking it semi easy. Since I know you, I know you aren't just sitting around, but I hope that maybe you aren't doing to heavy labor things like usual.

Watch out for cellulitus too Marion. My best friend had it and was in the hospital for 10 days because of it. It is swelling, hot and bright red. It can do you in if you don't catch it. Hers was in her lower leg and is most common in extremities. Can be extremely painful...

I talked to my Niece yesterday, she is going home today, but very upset, because the baby has to stay in the hopstial, but she knows she can go and see the baby anytime. Because she lives 30 miles from the hospital, she may go back and stay across the street at the ronald McDonald house so she can be there closer. She and her Mother were allowed to go in and reach through the panel, and hold the baby's hand. She said she is so tiny, her foot is only an inch long.
As soon as I get a picture I will post it.

AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW LK, what a great name for such a little sweetie pie! That's a great idea for her to stay at the Ronald McDonald house. My mom was smaller than that and she made it just fine, back in 1948, hopefully Lillie won't have any problems either, just needs to gain a little weight.

Today will be the first day in a week I'll be watering the plants. PTL for giving me a break :D The heat has return and hopefull the rains will return too. Kel's not too thrill as that means he has no excuse not to mow the grass.

Her name is Renee. She owns a pet shop that we frequent and her husband of 17 years has been cheating on her.
He has abused that social networking program we are all familiar with.. but instead of Farmville.. it's 'Cheatingville'.
By the grace of God, a few months ago, before she found this out.. her husband had insisted their second pet store be under his name totally.
But she was guided into having her name as well.
Please pray for her to leave her DH to the Lord. She wanted to confront the other women.. yes.. women.. but we told her that he'll just find others.

I'm gonna get my behind moving, Kel just brought in lunch from a sandwich shop.

I just applied on-line for about a dozen jobs. Looks like my unemployment will be ending in two weeks....sure don't know what we're going to do then. :o(

Morning everyone and thanks for the wishes. Barb that is what the doctor said he thought it was: cellulitis and that is exactly what my left arm looked like. The meds seem to be helping but it is still red ,hot and swollen. I see my doctor for a following up at 4:15. I would feel better if I could say yes, I was bitten, yes I had a cut, scratch, scrap but NO, none of those that I am aware of.

Kathy, you do take care please. Enjoy your grandson but don't wear yourself out--weez needs you muchas!!!!

Jaye, we are still getting afternoon showers and on top of that my next door neighbor must have his sprinklers on timers. LOL pouring down rain and they are watering a full speed. Really halping my azaleas so I won't complain. His water bill. LOL

My son is back working at Gulf Island this week and was able to take his family again. I am so happy as I did that when Ross traveled to certain areas. Packed the kids up and away we went, not only did they learn alot of different things being on the work site with Dad but also saw a large part of Florida. Of course, this means Kim and I are pet sitting.

Well, at least it's not a 100 cats....oops...was that catty of me? ^_^

Meow!! Nope it wasn't catty. LOL I will do most anything when I am down at my Moms BUT I don't do cats!!! Might add windows also.

Jaye lots of prayers going up for Renee, seems there is a lot of that going on lately, two ladies in my office of 12 people found out last year that their husbands were cheating, both had been married 18 years and had been cheating for almost the whole marriage. I don't get it, why ask someone to get married? Must be the ego of having the best of both worlds.

Funny we are talking about divorces. I had an old friend show up at lunch time yesterday. Her and hubby have been married for 25 years, and she was out looking for aplace to rent. She is leaving him. Seems he has been emailing, and sending money to his ex for quite awhile. She just found out, and is furious! So we talked for a long time. We said prayers together shared lots of hugs!

It is still swollen, red and hot but at the same time vastly improved. I just have to be careful not to bump it (you will hear me if I do) and stop and elevate it every now and then. Thanks for asking.

That cheating stuff seems to happen more often than not. My bil did it to my sil and a baby came out of it. The jerk thinks he did nothing wrong!! The worst part? I ahve to live with him while this marriage is disolving!!
