This is the 11th day above 90 since my weather station was installed on May 7. I know we had a few more in April.

What a difference from last summer! It's 87 here, humid, slight breeze....garden is like concrete again.

Yes - amazing what one year does. Yet, there are always weeds that thrive in any conditions!

Mine have mutated into gargantuans...must go out & try to pull a few.

weeded most of the yard the last two days - as long as you do it on a regular basis no big deal - went on two good hikes both mornings too

I'm afraid to say this "out loud", but I think I finally have my gallant soldier problem under a relative amount of control in the veggie garden. With the help of the Roundup, I think the number of generations has been drastically cut. I have had a few, but not that many. Knock wood!

low 80's today. It was not humid, so the horse show today was great. DD placed 3rd and 2 4th's.

Yay! That's great, Jumper...she must be a super rider. My friends had carriage horses, (Morgans), but they were jumpy & I was afraid to ride in the carriages. Louise, my purslane is totally out of control....a few clumps are filling my weed bucket.

Apparently the gallant soldiers (guascos) are a real culinary treat and the basis for soups and sauces elsewhere. Not here.....I have too much antipathy towards them for years of back aches!! LOL

A beautiful, sunny day after a glorious sunrise in Western New York. Currently 78 degrees heading for the upper 80's. A trip to Home Depot and the grocery store is what I will be doing this morning.

Thanks, Dave....it's 78 here also, another 90 day in the offing...no, Iris, no purslane on my plate....sometimes I have trouble eating "normal" food. Would like to weed today, but will be getting ready to go to NH for a few days.

After hitting 94, we are currently at 92 with a measly 26% H!!

Just got one of those fans that hooks up to your hose and blows a nice mist. Very nice! The way the pool is going (or not), it may be our only way to cool off outside this year.

Ahhh...I feel that mist now!

I LOVED playing in the sprinklers as a kid.

We played in the fire hydrant. That was real fun. When we put it on without the official sprinkler cap, we would have people screaming at us because of low pressure! Way more fun, though.

and if there was a fire..........
