Containers 2010 - WHose IN! - part 2
He is a champ
yes yes
yes,but does he trim! LOL. God I wish I had a large greenhouse.. well, I do, but it needs visquween! Then theres the thought of those LP bills.....Im stuck in the house house for a bit.
no no no.. he would never trim
LOL! Well.....hope you got lotsa room then! I hate trimming them when they look so purdy!
That wishing well is AWESOME! I LIKE IT!
I agree.. very cool
I was going to Lowe's for something else and I just happened to see it and I thought I got to have it. By the way, the bucket goes up and down with the hand crank.
YUM!
I planted some Canna surrounded by Petunia's in a couple of large cement pillar pots next to the back deck wall. The Canna were from tuberous roots, so it's taken a couple months for them to show, and grow. No flowers from them as of yet, but the Petunia's took off like there's no tomorrow. Once the Petunia's start to die back, I'll probably change them out for some spring blooming Hyacinth's and Freesia.
lovely
nice... cannas like so much water ... I am surprised you are able to keep up watering it
I agree. 2 years ago when I planted Canas They were huge and by the end of summer I couldnt get the roots out of the pot.
They make a dramatic statement tho.
I have a bunch this year... just simply love them... hit & miss for me overwintering them... 1 year it was fine.. the next not so much.. going to try again this year
DD overwinters with luck. She was also marginally sucessful with Caladiums last year.
I never have been able to do anything like that. Basement is too dry.
Here's a shot from a Canna, Palm, and a couple Giant Bird of Paradise that I planted last year. The Canna did pretty good last year, but exploded this year. I know what you mean about their thirst though. With water retention in mind: I plant all my pots with that Miracle Grow water retentive soil, add a few sprinkles of water retentive polymer beads, and line the top soil with decorative gravel to reduce evaporation. This seems to help allot, and since I have to leave for weeks at a time, it becomes a must. So far so good.
Wow, my tiger leafed cannas are bursting out of a 24" pot now and I may have to put them in something bigger...I'm thinking a big square on a square dolly. Digging big enough holes in my tough ass caliche is out of the question. I've lost the young guy that helped us to following a girlfriend out of town and I need to keep hubby fit for draggin' all my jewelry around to shows in October/November.
Friends always say what fun I must have doing jewelry shows...I do, but that's after we set-up! 'Till then it's like carrying tools and rocks...because that's what it is, stone and metal. :D
Welcome to my past D.
I made pottery and setting up was horrible .I loved selling ,it was great to meet the people who liked what I did.
Are you a jeweler? Rep?
hope there are no more friends either... eeekkk... I really have to get moving to get these containers in as well
We were supposed to have frost over the weekend. Its not going to happen now but temps at night will be in the 40's
