Our garden 2010

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I hope to retire someday too! It's still a long ways off for me though.

Here's a diagram of the layout of our garden. It's about 32 feet by 22 feet total when you include the stackers, compost bin, potato bags, etc. Each of the paths between the beds are 2 ft so I can mow in between them.

The preview picture here crops the image... to see the full layout you have to expand it.

Your place is just beautiful.

Quinx... thanks for posting pics of your garden. I'm sure most everyone has learned something, no matter how small, from your endeaver. I particularly liked the leaning trellis concept which I hadn't seen or heard of before... what a space saver!

The leaning trellis came from here:

Quinx - does the leaning trellis work as good as it looks? I like Charantais melons, and that trellis looks as though it would be good to grow them on. Charantais can support their own weight 'cause they are quite small.

Do they save space, too?

Thanks

Qinx,
I'm in awe of your raised garden. It is just beautiful!

Would you post a bit about:

your soil mix
your fertilizing
and anything else you feel has made you so successful? (watering, whatever else).

I would really appreciate it!

Lise
