Bad news continues - new unemployment claims rose 'unexpectedly' again.

The restaurant where we ate last night was packed - on a Wed night! If you offer a quality good or service and treat customers right, you will do well even in down times.

Gold flirted with an all-time high of $1250 today. Glad I still have it in one of my funds.

Mentioned in the past that I have started investing in collectible books. Some of the recent ones I have gotten include one by Frederick Douglas, a nice Stuart Little and T.S. Eliot's Wasteland.

Interestingly my FIL's broker invested them in BP as part of their portfolio about 3 months before the accident. Within days following the blowout he called and advised them to move to cut their losses, which they did. He must have had a crystal ball as it has been in free fall since, and now rumblings of Chapter 11. I think I like my diversified funds even better now. Ric
