(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hello everyone. I am sitting here sending all kinds of love to each and everyone of you. Miss not being with you but I do know now I am where I should be at this time. I didn't realize how much of a depression my Mom had slipped into since I was down just 3 weeks ago. Immediately solved by Kim asking her to teach her to cook some of her favorite dishes--banana pudding custard from scratch.

Issue of butter tarts: I did tell Cookie she could have mine but I do believe Betty has enough everyone can eat one for me. LOL
How is that.

Tink, I am so thrilled to know I will be having a new nephew--actually have very few of those in my family. Love the name. You are now obigated to take better care of yourself because I now know my nephew. Insert huge grin!!!

Kim said to tell all how disappoint she is but hope she can stay on the list for future gathers with us.

Love each of you and raise a glass of coke for me.

M

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Miss you so much Marion. :o( We are certainly thinking and of you and Kathy and so sorry that we can't meet Kim, too. But...I'm truly hoping that this is just a postponement for you two and that you'll soon be headed North to see me.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's depression, but I'm glad that Kim was able to snap her out of it. It's hard to be 90+. I know, I'm dealing with it myself! (Okay, my parents are, but it's almost like me!)

Love you, and consider yourself hugged!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry I missed the call but Kim and I had taken Mom outside to sit with her coffee under the oaks this morning. There was a nice breeze and it was really nice.

For some unkown reason your number didn't record--please send to me.

Sister doing much better, stiff but her dignity is bruised the worst at this point. Especially since we know the little gator cart works and we keep asking why she didn't drive the cows food out to the feeder. Duh!!! A serious blond moment on her part.

My hugs to all and I am there in spirit if not physically. Give a hug to all for me.

Introduction is probably in order.
I'm Ric, my partner Robyn and I were invited up from Cincinnati to join the Sistah's madness.
(Sort of mystery guests as I've known some of the ladies for years.)
I thought Joyce was kidding about the madness part....LOL!
Let's just say I barely escaped w/ my life as the Baby Shower was starting! ;-)

The ladies are all doing fine and Tubby they were indeed all 'Skinny Dipping' in the Pond when we arrived.
As this is a Family site I can't post the photos, so Tubby, you will have to use your imagination......
But let's just say those ladies can sure run!!!!!

Here's the formal group shot.
My SO Robyn is on the far right back.
You should recognize all the others.

I have Many more shots and the stories behind them.
And as Joyce often says I AM wicked w/ candids.
But in a flattering way.

We're heading to Taynors tomorrow so probably won't post any until late tomorrow night or Monday.

And Ladies it was amazing to meet you all!
We had a BLAST!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'd love to be there...... would give everyone a HUGE hug!!!!!

Love you all, my sistahs, and look forward to hearing all about the Shower! ^_^
give a big hug to Stacey for me, please ^_^

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good Morning Joyce,

How goes It???? Some of them are leaving to go home today right?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just talked to the girls, and they are all having a great time. It was so good to talk to them, and hear thier voices!
Sounds like Cookie got lots of nice rocks for her garden, and it looks like Judy got hired to be the cook! Must be some good food there. Stacey said the breakfast omelots were very good! She also got lots of nice things for the baby showers!
Jaye is really enjoying her vacation she said!
Sure wish I could be there to give you all hugs. Hopefully next year.
We are all waiting on pictures!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wonderful pictures!! WHAT? You went skinny dipping without me? Oh well, probably just as well as it would have been to shocking. LOL

Cookie, you will never believe this but we have some furniture the same!! Co-incidence or just outstanding good taste?

Missing all and oh how I wish I had been able to come but...................

Safe trip home for all.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We are down to 3 happy sistahs! Stacey and Janice left shortly after noon, and Judy, Jaye and I headed for the JoAnn Superstore. Dang if I didn't get some material to quilt a little coin purse. (Jaye and Judy were snickering behind their hands......brats).

Then off to the Half Price Book Store, with a quick stop in to meet Jordyn (so she could thank them for sponsering her in the Juvinile Diabetes Walk for a Cure) Just got home a little bit a go and we're snacking waiting for lasagna to bake. (Don't get excited, it's Stouffers). We're all tuckered out right now, but I'm sure it won't be long to get our second wind!

I M BACK !! at home
another chicken dead. :(
RIc and Robyn came by and helped me predator proof the coop. They were a great help !
but i m pooped.
you girls wore me out

Hello all, well Crissy is wanting to move to my neck of the woods..we would have been here earlier but we had sightseeing to be done..brought Crissy to meet youngest son Jeff, then off to Wasaga Beach to show her our Florida shores, the went to see the damage in Midland that was done by the tornado the day I left, walked through my gardens and all is well, had a wonderful trip home...I'm starting to feel a little better but now Crissy is down with the same...so it will be an early night because we have lots planned on this side of the border...and Rick, you take wonderful photo's...

The weather was brutally hot for June.
Near 90° and very high humidity.
The Front Porch was a nice oasis.
Shame as it's to be in the low 80's w/ night temps near 50 by Weds.

As I told Betty our area is known as Sinus Valley.
I fear that several of the ladies are feeling the affects.

See what I mean about Ric being wicked with the camera?????

Betty, it was my pleasure to have you here. All of you, and you're always welcome back at any time. The door is always open for you!

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

I'll leave you w/ a semi-formal shot that is actually better than our posed one.
I'm the one w/ the gray beard......

Ladies send me your email addresses and I'll send you the rest of the shots.
It was an absolute pleasure to be invited.
A hearty THANKS Joyce!
Your DH,
Ric

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

We had a wonderful time at Joyce's and she was a great hostess. We went to visit a beautiful garden that a lady has right in a residential neighborhood. Never saw so many trees, conifers, etc. in all shades and textures of green. Nice place to roam on a hot muggy day. Then off to lunch and a trip to a specialty grocery and plant store. We had already gone to a fabric store the evening before and some of us had been very BAD! They had a wonderful selection of batiks that kept calling my name.

Meals were a wonderful combination of good food and great conversation and we lingered at the table for long after we were finished eating. Things like bar-b-qued chicken, brisket, and pork, salads and applesauce cake, butter tarts and Texas sheet cake + a terrific decorated cake for the baby shower. Judy fixed mouth-watering omelets for Sunday breakfast, so you can see we ate well!

Joyce has beautiful gardens herself and the waterfall and pond were a favorite place for all of us to gather and chat. We viewed Birdies' garden, too and it was so nice and restful. I envy all these ladies the room and especially their water features. They are so restful and refreshing in this heat.

Next year in the Wisconsin woods should be nice and cool; so mark your calendars! Judy is expecting us.

Raleigh, NC

well - gotta tell ya'll - - -

your prayers appear to be moving mountains......

Friday spent from 9am - after 5pm in CPA's office in Chapel Hill NC in conference calls to IRS. Their documentation demands were intense. While y'all were having fun, and praying for me I know, we were scrambling for research and documentation. Their deadline? 8am this morning. We were back in CPA's office this morning, on the phone to them by 8am Central time - where my sistahs were!

It's possible things are moving positively forward, gals. but I don't want to jinx it. not just yet.
