GG, I love that dianthus! Very pretty! They do have a strong scent. I happen to really like the smell. It doesn't bother me.

Sorry, I don't, Karen.
Gneiss - love that dianthus!
This one was hard to photograph. It is my first year seeing the plant bloom. I bought it last year in mid-summer, based on a picture in a book. I loved the thin foliage and lacy flowers. They are actually pale blue, not white. It is Amsonia tabernaemontana var Salicifolia. The book, by the way, is The Ever-Blooming Flower Garden by Lee Schneller. I found it very helpful for trying to plan for flowers all summer long, which is no easy feat. The author gardens in coastal Maine and almost all the plants she features are zone 5. She comments on color, height, blooming season, shape of plant, how well it behaves, etc.
Nice. I am an amsonia fan and have a bunch.
Another vote for your dianthus granite. A very striking plant.
While tooling around New Jersey today, a JM Beni Kawa jumped into my car. When I replant to permanent position, should the graft be above or below soil level?
Very nice, folks....loved the Strawberry yarrow, roses, lilies, even the bug photos! Looks like a dragonfly nymph. That dianthus was so lacy, & I love the scent. My flowers are waterlogged....it's been raining on & off here for days.....this is one of Boojum's plants that I posted on the RU thread....amazing prickly pear.....
Above. The first lateral root should be near the soil line. Higher is better as they cannot be allowed to be wet.
Is that for the JM Victor? Thanks!
Yes.
OK, thanks. It's about 4 ft and was $40. I thought that was a pretty good price. ??
Sounds good.
Good deal on that JM, Weeze. Where did ya get it?
This is my fourth, granite. It caught my eye at the nursery and when I saw the tag I remembered it being a favorite of Victor's. I take it you are a JM enthusiast?
Jen, it was at a little place in Plumstead Twp. Big Woods Garden. They didn't have a big selection, but good prices.
Yes, Beni kawa has great red bark.
Weeze New Egypt/Plumsted is REAL close to me, gotta go check it out.
Allison, great butterfly shot
looks like a flicker.
neat one Jen
Nice shots Allison and Jen.
Granite, very pretty Mt. Laurel, but I don't have a name. Allison, great shots...that is a flicker.
Granite i'd guess your Mt. Laurel is 'Minuet' .......

Love the goats beard! Your astillbe's look good Ge, they look taller than me!!!
Nice pics, everyone!
GG, your pink TBI looks like it could be Beverly Sills. Does Cooley's sell that one? I don't have any amsonia yet, but hope to get some soon. I have a friend who has some. Maybe she'll trade.
Venu, that does sound like a good price on the JM. I'm jealous!
Allison, I love the new agastache. Nice butterfly.
Karen
Looking good, JoAnne!
