This one was hard to photograph. It is my first year seeing the plant bloom. I bought it last year in mid-summer, based on a picture in a book. I loved the thin foliage and lacy flowers. They are actually pale blue, not white. It is Amsonia tabernaemontana var Salicifolia. The book, by the way, is The Ever-Blooming Flower Garden by Lee Schneller. I found it very helpful for trying to plan for flowers all summer long, which is no easy feat. The author gardens in coastal Maine and almost all the plants she features are zone 5. She comments on color, height, blooming season, shape of plant, how well it behaves, etc.
