Here is an Iris last time to bloom this year.

Found another oriental bloom today. Mona Lisa - growing underneath my Graham Thomas rose shrub so it took some serious beating with the rose canes.

Don't know what your killer is, but I've seen them around before. I saw a gorgeous dragonfly today. It had an iridescent green body and black wings.

Venu, no, the clarkia I have is not a short one. It's a species variety. Did you check out the description on the link I posted?

Oh, Tex, I know all about that 'Painter's Palette' being invasive seed-wise. They come up all over. At least they're easy to pull. That 'Pink Heaven' OL of yours is heavenly.

Things are finally getting going here in central Maine, so I have a few pictures to share. The first is Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness'. I think it is very pretty, but the smell is so strong, I've learned not to pick it and bring it in the house.
