Isn't it a dragonfly?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I assumed so, but it never flew, so I couldn't be sure.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Did you hang around till it ate the whole thing?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No - it's still out there.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wonder how long it will take? It should fly away after it's done, unless it needs a nap after a big meal

Here is an Iris last time to bloom this year.

Found another oriental bloom today. Mona Lisa - growing underneath my Graham Thomas rose shrub so it took some serious beating with the rose canes.

Not to be outdone, Winchester Cathedral. It's pink blotches ran away. It's suppose to be in the center.

Gorgeous pics everyone. I even like the bug ones.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What do you mean, 'even', Jan?!! Bugs are people too!

Very nice, Pensacola and Tex! Tex, I read that as Richard Nixon at first!

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

LOL! Victor - I don't think they'll ever name a flower after him.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Oh, so sorry, Victor. That should have read 'especially' like. My fingers didn't do what I wanted. Is that better? ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee, much better, Jan.

Tex - maybe a nasty weed?

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Victor. Your JI is gorgeous.

Thanks, Victor, on the permission to use the photo. And thanks to all who commented on my pics. That JI is gorgeous! Do you know the name? That pink Asiatic is a beauty, too. Don't know what your killer is, but I've seen them around before. I saw a gorgeous dragonfly today. It had an iridescent green body and black wings.

Venu, no, the clarkia I have is not a short one. It's a species variety. Did you check out the description on the link I posted?

Oh, Tex, I know all about that 'Painter's Palette' being invasive seed-wise. They come up all over. At least they're easy to pull. That 'Pink Heaven' OL of yours is heavenly.

JoAnne, that's a pretty poppy, that annual one.

GGK, that Dark Eyes fuchsia is gorgeous! I love your cranium couple, too. I've been wanting one of those.

Peoniae, that geranium bloom is a beauty.

Nice brug, Pensacola. I have one that I got as a cutting last fall. Can't wait to see it bloom.

Things are finally getting going here in central Maine, so I have a few pictures to share. The first is Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness'. I think it is very pretty, but the smell is so strong, I've learned not to pick it and bring it in the house.

Thanks Karen
