Best/Worse and what did I learn today?visit with friends...
Crissy, love the flowers! Tiga looks so comfy in that chair!
Nothing like waking up in the morning, coming to the computer and look at friends flowers/gardens...
Beautiful Christine..I could use a heat wave here..it's been rather chilly...
Christine as you age and have tragedy in your life these little things like holes in the side yard are just small annoyances and can be remedied..maybe he was working an area for a new bed..aha, bet that was it...
With all my crafting yesterday and not taking time to see if the girls are coming painting today I've been up cleaning..almost back to normal..now it's time for breakfast and find something to take to work today to entertain myself...
Bev,how is Scotty doing? What a gorgeous photo...
Tubby, are you over that long trip, feeling better? What has Shirley been up to of late.
Gab later...
Betty
No not complety...
Got myself a cold
Tubby
I just hate a summer cold. Please take good care of it Tubby. First sign of one I grab the Mucinex-D so I don't get the congestion. Seems to help.
Norm and I are galivanting today - looking for a new sofa-recliner for the living room. I haven't been furniture shopping in years so it should be fun.
Waving Hi to all~~~~~~
Not good 'tubby' summer colds are hard to get rid of..am sure Shirley has you on meds, hopefully after a few days you'll be yourself..is that good or bad? lol
Barb, bet it will be an eye-opener if you haven't been furniture shopping in awhile..mega $$$$...as for recliners, so may function options you can get now, love the one where it virtually lifts you out of your chair..vibrating would be ok but because of having little casing on the nerves in my neck, no can do...
I might get another year out of the chesterfield set I have in the living room, won't change the painting of my walls until I next go out and purchase another..better start saving my pennies...
Paul called in this morning, I was afraid to ask if after all the rain we had Sat. / Sun. did the covers I made keep the rain out? Said 'yes' said he was thrilled with finished product so I'm pleased with that...
LindaKay, you doing the 'happy dance' picking up that new vehicle this afternoon...how excited you must be...every once in awhile when I'm at the car wash I put a coin in the refresher machine, gives you 2 or 3 options, always pick 'new vehicle' scent...best part of getting a new car...
Crissy, too cool, was thinking here about our adventure do you know it's next week already...
I know-in less than 2 weeks we will all be hugging and chatting away!!LOL
HAPPY LATE BDAY LK!! Sorry I was so slow on the uptake:(
The most frustrating thing for me when shopping for furniture is finding what I want in the kind of fabric and color I want. It was really bad when DH and I would go together. Now I go and find 2-3 that I like, then take him to look at those and he gets to pick form my choices. When we would go together from start to finish it would take at least 4 times as long and VERY frustrating. I do that for everything now from paint to furniture and it seems to work MUCH better:)
Betty you're absolutely right about the small issues deal. I just get all wound up sometimes. OMG!! I'm glad you said something, I was thinking I still had two weeks! LOL!!! I've got to get some work done! ACK!!! I can't wait til our adventure, have you found anything we can go sightseeing for on our adventure? I'm going to look too, see what's between there and there lol
I can't seem to pack my bag accordingly... might end up checking it.
Tubby I am so sorry you have a cold! That's not good, take your meds and behave yourself so you'll get well fast!
The most frustrating thing I find about buying new furniture is how comfortable it's going to be in 3 months after I bought it, and how well it's going to hold up. LOL Stacey, I can totally relate, even though me and Dave have the same taste in everything. It still takes forever because he's anal.
Good Morning! What a fun busy weekend!
LOL Betty, I didn't have a hangover, but I was sure tired. We had a very nice lazy day yesterday.
Friday was Breenie's Birthday so we had an ice cream cake for her, Her friend Jenny came and spent the weekend with us.
Then Saturday, We left at 10:30 to shop, taking Breenie with us...LOL, she was the get us busy till notified every one was back person.
So we shopped for several hours, which was alot of fun! We bought all new items for the house, bath & Kitchen towels, window fans, sheets, and other household items...We got these at Walmart. Then it was off to ABT to look at stacking washer & dryer, but they were too expensive, lol instead we decided to update our wall TV, so We got a nice Panasonic 32" flat screen, with Ipod hookup, We will take the old TV to the house, we don't watch TV there too often but will watch movies, if it rains, or kids watch late night...We were told to be back at 1:30, but Sabrina had us out until almost 2. The only thing we took into the house was the TV...Sabrina told the kids when we got back and they came out to greet us.
We stopped to check the mail and then kids went in first, then us...The house was quiet, until we were both in the front foyer. Everyone was standing in the great room with cameras and all shouted Happy Anniversary! The kids, Decorated with Sliver 25's and garland. In the Kitchen was a full table of food, They ordered from Rosati's. Mostacholi, Beef, chicken Salad and all the fixings and a Keg of Beer & Wine. My craft table was a silver centerpiece, guest book and cards and gift, sprinkled with little 25's, and a stack of photo's!
Our guests were Most all of Steve's family and our closest friends! Julia didn't know how to invite my family because of the travel and she didn't know how to get in touch with them. This was ok, because I have a hard time getting in touch with them as well...We'll celebrate with them another time. Only the mouth gave My girl a what for because she didn't send individual invite to the kids, and they the whole family refused to come!! OH, well left our party more quiet, with out them shouting over everyone.
We had a fantastic time visiting with everyone. The kids did a fantastic Job. They had been planning this for almost a year! They even created the invitations!
I don't have a lot of pictures on my camera...And I have to get Alissa's camera to download what pics she took. But here is the invitation they did, just beautiful.
I have to run to the school and then an appointment, but I'll be back later.
Tubby, sorry to hear you have a cold!
Crissy, Beautiful Gardens!!
Betty & Crissy, I need your sizes, S,M, etc...Also your order for the omeletts, Please.
Linda Kay, Great new car! How exciting for you...
Got to run, Enjoy the morning!
Stacey, I remember your telling me that when you were visiting with me, at the time I believe you were doing your washroom????
As for furniture, because my living room is overly big I have to contend with where it will go..when I first moved in I bought a sectional, was ok because windows were high..within a year because of direct sunshine it was completely faded, then I put in a large window, almost the entire front of the living room so had to take that into account when getting the set I have now..
The set in the basement is humungous, actually took all we could to get it inside, then I built a wall so I imagine a chainsaw will have to be used should I ever change it..lol..leave it to me..
I've got things planned for up here Crissy, at some point I'll bring you to see Niagara Falls, we want to cruise Georgian Bay at some point, few tourist things in Midland..we don't have many days to play so we'll have to make the best of them...I'm sooo hoping Debbie can join us...happy packing Crissy!
Sounds like a lovely time Judy...great kids, must have been overwhelming for them to decide how to reach everyone while still keeping it a surprise..of course, they had a bit of time while you were off to Europe...funny how you go shopping for one thing and come back with something totally different..
Size, hmmmm, know you are up to something for the reunion, large normally!!! omelette, I eat everything and anything so don't try catering to me...I get to bring 'butter tarts' lol...been working on something as well, worked so hard yesterday that my wrist is paining, if I had a pain killer I'd be taking it..over used it, hasn't been right since my fall..I used it all day Friday/Sat. and Sun. for projects..did bring crochet to occupy my time but going to give it a rest today, perhaps if better I can work on my projects tonight..getting short of time before heading to Ohio..got to be a busy beaver..lol
Judy that is awesome, they did a fantastic job!! I bet it was a fun year for them to plan all of that! Glad you had a great time!
Omelet, let's see, I like everything too, if I don't like it I'll pick it out. I wear a Large right now, I'm between a 12 and 14, depending upon what the clothing is and how it's made. I have a pair of jammies that are XL because the L wasn't long enough. Oh yea, keep that in mind, I'm a 36 leg length.
lol..you are a tall one Crissy!!!now what is our Judy up to? want to share Judy? Just had lunch, mandarin chicken salad..yummy..have to go looking through d-mails..what time is your flight home Crissy???
Found it 1:30 pm...just doing a schedule, like to know what I'm doing at all times..lol
Betty I'll look at my flight itinerary tonight and dmail it to you, so you'll have it in the morning.
Hello everyone!
Tubby, sorry to hear you have a cold, you make sure to get plenty of rest, and please get some meds to make it better
Well, we finally got our new car. it seem to have taken forever to get all the paper work done, but we did.
This is our new Acadia! We fnally got all the paper work done, and insurance about 3:30 this afternoon!
One thing I learned, is that you can go to the place where you get your license plates, and get a form for your Dr to fill out, that allows handicap persons to be exempt from paying sales taxes on a new vehicle. It can only be on your primary car. That saved us $1800.00 today! ^_^
Nice Vehicle LK! How has your weather been? had thundershowers?
Hugs to all,
LindaKay, love the color - what do they call it...
I think the higher ups have all these program initiatives but nobody knows about them, that's more than a little savings..bet your are thrilled with both, spending $$$ and saving $$$..do they do it in form of a rebate or just take it off the purchase price....
Having coffee, tempted to start another project, on a time limit now..could get materials ready I guess then put out the gargage then it will be time to leave for work..
How much fun you'll have Betty and Crissy!! Are you coming from NY through the US or cutting through Canada??
They just take it off the price! They have all kinds of deals and rebates they keep to themselves. That is sad they are greedy like that!
It helped that we personally knew they sales rep, so he got us a really good deal!
That's wonderful LindaKay, now bet you are itching to drive, doesn't matter where, just drive..new cars are just the thing to bring ones spirits up..
Can't believe my Aveo is 3 years old this month and I've put on about 95,000miles...better change my name to roadrunner...why have a dependable car if you have to leave it sitting in the yard right?
Stacey, I cross over at Lewiston because Crissy comes in at 1:00 in Buffalo, then we'll go see Niagara Falls so that she doesn't miss out on that, once that sightseeing adventure is over we'll start travelling south...
Too funny, phone rang , it was Noah asking if he could come and stay here for 2 or 3 days, told him 'of course-anytime, door always open' then I asked how come???? guess brother Kyle hasn't been in a good mood of late, Noah says Kyle won't leave him alone..Noah's 12 and Kyle's 14 so trouble with brothers, at least for now..knowing Noah he'll be home by morning..in the meantime, I get to enjoy his company..lol
Kids, aren't they grand!!!! At least it's not the dogs...
Maybe he'll want to play bingo tonight..
Betty-if you remember, get me a cool postcard from the falls:)
Wow, I take a year off and miss so much. Congrats on your pregnancy Stacey. We had our new little addition just over a month ago, on May 13. We named him Loïc (pronounced Lowik) which is the Breton form of Louis. Our other kids are thrilled with him which is wonderful. I had him at home but he decided that he didn't want to be born in the water, my first non-water birth. I wonder what other new experiences I'll have with him.
Hello stranger! Glad to see you back! Looks like everyone is very happy. Congrats on the new addition to the family!
OMG how lovely to wake up, visit with friends and not only see you post but see that you are a new mom..congratulation to you, Loic (sorry could get the two dots on the i???) is just too adorable, lovely photo of the family, so other than this mega news, you are still in MooseFactory and hubby still teaching...have you made any decisions on finding a post further south for the upcoming school year?
Gillian, can't believe how they've grown so since your visit here, perfect family now, 2 of each..have your parents been up for a visit? Any plans on coming south this summer?
We are all having such changes in weather Gillian, what weather have you been having, am sure with a new baby it's difficult to be gardening...oooh so many questions, need to know..lol...waving to you all!
Quite a night last night, wanted to work on my projects but Noah arrived shortly after his call, then Melanie (DIL) came and brought some of his favorite goodies for eats and then Ann came..all played bingo but not winners...Ann and Melanie had a chat re Mike and then it was bedtime...girls are all coming to paint today, thinking it might have been Monday I had cleaned the studio so this morning I can take my time and have breakfast with Noah..it's nice having someone in the house in the morning..maybe that is why I slept like a baby last night...
Just got inside, a storm is brewing, needed to cover the lawn furniture, Sailor who is terrified of storms is pacing every which way, sure sign it's not far away..
Stacey, yes will get you a post card, been making a list of 'to do's' yikes I'll need a day just to pack me vehicle...Crissy, I'll make sure to leave a seat and a few square inches for your suitcase, other than that, no can guarantee space...at least on my way down..lol
LindaKay, did you go for a ride yesterday in your new wheels? Have you been speaking with your day, he doing ok?
Lordy I'm in a 'need to know' mood this morning...if you all take the time to answer all my questions I'll have lots to read today!
Gab later

Betty, I did run into town last night to get some lottery tickets.
dad is doing fine. He loves going for rides with my brother on the week-end. There is so much lovely wooded places to drive around. He loves to go and look at the wildlife, deer, elk... My Brother lives in the city, but he has a doe and two babies come to his back yard, and Dad loves to throw carrots or apples out for them!
Glad to hear you had a good visit with Noah.
GILLIAN!!! So nice to see you post!! Thanks and congrats to you too!!! He is a doll!! You have to let us know what all has been going on way up there!!
Betty-LOL-I can just picture you trying to pack a ton into that teeny little car you have!! Hope you don't get searched at the border since I am sure it will take some finesse to get it all to fit right;)
Betty, sounds like you will need a bigger car, next time around?
was nice having Noah in the house this morning, I make him feel so very special, he said when he grows up a little more he'll have to move in..lol
As he's staying until the weekend from what he says (might be short lived as he'll miss his pool/hot tub/dirtbike) I asked what he'd like to have for supper tonight, quick with his words, 'we can decide tonight grandma when we go to the restaurant' now tell me, doesn't he know me well...
Stacey, you've eaten at the restaurant next door, food is great, it's resonably priced so why cook and dirty dishes....
Know I have to watch how much I bring back into Canada i.e. after 48 hr. stay it's $400.00 but how much they'll let me bring in will be another question..
I need YOUR vehicle LindaKay...nope, can get into enough trouble with mine...actually for a smaller car it sure has loads of space, seats all go down, hatch opens..gee whiz, just like a mini mini van..
When I travelled with Debbie last year the border crossing agent gave me a ticket to have my vehicle searched, said I was the lucky 'random' number...all the agents checking every corner of my car had a good laugh at how excited I was for getting searched...
There is only 1 thing I'm bringing over that might be questionable so am not sure that I won't take all the supplies and my first night in a hotel room have to get real ambitious...ahhh 2nd thing..all the butter tarts..oh/oh better tell Crissy if I'm not at the airport where she should come looking for me...
LOL You better not leave me stranded for butter tarts, you and those butter tarts better be waiting for me when I get there! I'm going to be hungry when my plane lands too.
Me and Dave were talking last night after he saw me struggling to pick the right clothes to pack, he asked what the temp is up there, told him around 65*, he started laughing and reminded me that I'm acclimated to 110* heat and I'm going to freeze up there! Very true. He then asked how the airline charges to check luggage, I told him that my ticket says there will be a $25.00 per checked item on one of the flights, but it doesn't say which one. He told me to pack my suitcase according to the temp and just check it, he doesn't want me getting sick as I haven't been sick, not even with a cold, in 1 1/2 years, which is a first for me!
So Betty, I will be checking one medium sized suitcase that will fit on the floorboard behind the front seat. I might bring a small carry on for goodies I want to bring back with me.
Gillibean!!!! So great to see you again, and look at that sweet baby you have there!! And a gorgeous family to boot! Congrats!!!
I'm sure you'll be here in a heatwave, at least high 70's, ordered it just for you but it's better that you bring a sweater and long slacks just incase...just kidding about the room, it's amazing what I can get packed in that car..know I've had enough practice doing it..besides, worse comes to worse, can purchase a roof rack, always wanted one of those..lol
LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!! It's the Beverly Hillbillies!
OMG high 70's is perfect weather! It's probably too soon to tell but I'm going to look at the forecast anyway...
As long as we don't have snow Crissy, all will be good with the world...Beverley Hillbillies, you've seen my home then?
Yup, they forecast 24 to 25* Celcius.
Woo Hoo no rain so far. Hope that doesn't change.
