Best/Worse and what did I learn today?visit with friends...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Broke out laughing here Stacey, a gymnist? too funny!

I would love to chat with you all tonight but I'm so very tired...Got to Paul's at 8:30am - was at Fabricland by 9:30 and out at 11:00am yep took that long for Paul to pick material..we both had different ideas as to quantity, he left, I ordered a bit more...then I started sewing..I sewed from 11:15 to 8:00 pm..only time I stopped was for a quick lunch..the cover for the setee which is queen size went well..double stitched/tripple stitched etc. Paul was pleased ..ooops got way too much material, better safe than sorry right..of course had more left because we redesigned the project...then Wilena my SIL came out and asked about the cushion that covered the entire piece, were we not going to make a slip cover for it??? so back to the drawing board, bet there wasn't 4" left worth of material when I finished...Paul was more than pleased, he thought I was going there to measure, go buy material and head home..just maybe he'd have it in a week or two, didn't realize I was packed with sewing gear and ready to take on his projects...found $200. in my sewing bag when I got home..drats, wasn't necessary at all..

Debbie so nice to hear you enjoyed yourself...oooh color of hair sounds cool for a graduation..

Judy glad you are ready for the shin/dig

Stacey, glad your doctor report was good

Crissy, am sure I'll find you somewhere

Susan, you WORK too hard...you'd better mellow out and smell the roses..need time to recoup

LindaKay, I've been single so long I'd better get me some tatoos just so I can be patted down and frisked..lol

Can't keep my eyes open so off I go..

Want to come back in the morning and read about all your marvellous travels..

Baton Rouge, LA

OMG! Betty with Tattoo's ! ROFLOL! That made me smile and today has been very tough...so Thank you Betty ! I needed a smile.....

Stacey & Crissy - When ya'll go on your world travels...and get ready for New Orleans YOU"D BETTER CALL ME! I'm up for tours of New Orleans for all my DG friends...and Betty wants to revisit there too.... that might be your next DG get together !

Judy - SO glad to hear Breenie is in the 'same boat' as my DS.... He did mow the yard today...I gave him a 'day off' from job searching. LOVE all the work you got out of your kids... I need whatever magic you have to accomplish that. Dishes are in the sink ( a "no no in my book" and trash needs to be taken out...so I'm not a happy camper.)

Debbie ! Prom night! Love the Cherry Red hair.... the "ladies" will love that too...sure he'll have plenty of dances...... (Post pics!)

Betty - your gardens make me happy with the pretty flowers....however I don't recognize any plants at all... probably because our climates are so different?!? I need to post a pic... It's pretty out there just still sad to me that our Queen palms and hibiscus aren't back yet... I do have a pink hardy hibiscus...similar to the red Tubby sent ...that is FULL of huge pink blooms... and FINALLY got a red leaf canna lily to bloom...so I have four different colors of cannas blooming...

I'll post again in a bit...

LK - how or why would a tattoo set off the airline security? does it have metal in the ink?

Debbie - you went to Mexico Beach? Near Panama City, Florida?

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary yes that is the beach....loved it.

Crissy...I flew delta. The "46 inches" is add height & lenght & width, it can't be more than 46 inches. My bag was 22 inches & 10 & 8 so 40 inches total. If you are flying a "smaller plane" they take your carry on, store it under the plane...and when you get off the plane, bring it to you just as you get on the walkway coming off the plane...takes a few minutes to unload. They will put a pink ticket on it with a number.

WELL, Prom is about over....he came home, changed and is now off to a Bon-fire at a teachers house.

He walked away with "best hair" award. LOL

Debbie - VERY HANDSOME! and stylish ! I really like it !

Mexico Beach is very close to where my Dad lives in Wewahitchka. Also close to Panama City... I'm very glad ya'll went to the GULF...they need your support.

I'm tossing around asking DH if we can plan a 3 day weekend there July 4th....to support the area. They are getting cancellations left & RIght. I don't care if there are tar balls by that time... I LOVE our gulf beaches.

Wish I were at a bonfire! DH working till late tomorrow.

Well - As far as the "Where I've visited" game... Do we include states we passed through? Or don't remember? I've traversed South U.S. four times by vehicle...once drove to Chicago.... and Canada and back....drove and flew to Washington DC.... but I dont' think I count states that I don't remember... LOL!!!

will check back in a bit...

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, there were no tar-balls as the time I left yesterday. Specialist were patrolling the beach twice a day.

I flew into the new airport in Panama City, and we did some shopping there, and had lunch. I also visited Destin....beautiful area. It was really hard to come back.

Betty, you know whats amazing....all the traveling, walking, etc....my feet/legs didn't swell once. I get back home, and booom. Guess I have to move back to Florida....I think a prescription is in order....doctors orders!

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Debbie !

I know! People around here are asking me like crazy...and my niece was on the Destin beach yesterday and NO SIGN of oil, tar balls, etc... NOTHING!

YET ....folks are still cancelling! It's really sad.

Did you go to "Pier Park" in Panama City!? New shopping area with shops, restaurants, etc......

I DO think you should move there... the salt air/water probably cured your swelling! I promise when you move there...I will come visit you... LOL!

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Yes, Pier Park is where we went!

There was some oil washed up on a Panama City beach...a few tar balls, but cleaned up and that was it....last I had heard. More up the panhandle though.

My ear is so sore....going to bed! Good night all

Baton Rouge, LA

Night Night Debbie !

Pier Park was the First stop on the High School Band Trip (back in April)... we "tried to" eat at Back Porch.....

I never got to eat my King Crab dinner (due to Band Deadlines.. "Meet back at 7:40pm"...) so I went to the one in Destin with DH on Memorial weekend and SAVORED my King Crab....

It seemed like a GREAT shopping area though! Glad you enjoyed it !

Hugs,
Mary

niters ev1 - I'm soooooo taaaaaaaaahred.....
had people viewing the trailer tonight, w/o the realtor - It was our ad on Kijiji.ca that got them. If we sell w/o realtor, he won't be charging the realtor's commission! That's worth $2k right there!

anyway - not going to get my hopes up. That's how I get stress headaches ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone! Goodness, you all are so busy. Betty, did you get any pictures of the covers you m ade?
Bet you were glad you bought the extra fabric?
Love the red hair, he really looks good with it!
Debbie, what is wrong with your ear? Hope it is better soon!

Well, hubby and I went shopping today. We just bought a new GMC Acadia. We got rebates and a nice discount and trade in on the truck. We pick it up Monday afternoon! It is dark brown. Love all the room it has inside. It can seat up to 8 people, and all the back seats fold down if you need the cargo room.
Plus hubby bought me a Itouch MP3 player for my Birthday, and am trying to figure out how to download music to it.

I ended up with some allergies or a cold while in Florida......and let me tell you, the plane ride home, did me in! I was in so much pain, tears streaming down my face. None of the normal "reliefs" helped. I still hear an echo of sorts out of it, but the pain has gone somewhat.

We went strawberry picking this morning, I think DH ate more than he picked....but they sure are good!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Praying the potential byers like your place Susan..great that you are trying to sell on your own and therefore can lower the price....let's hope!!!

LindaKay..wonderful..seats 8? marvellous, how exciting for you both..now just think when the seats are down how much crafting supplies you'll be able to fit in..bet your hubby is shaking his head 'no'...and to boot, an MP3 player, you are sooo spoilt..I'm truly brain dead when it comes to this new technology...not for me, Jeff gets so frustrated trying to teach me how to use them that I finally gave up...so, how many miles per gallon does it do? and how far is Ohio from you? hmmm can't you tell DH you want to take a Thursday drive..lol

Debbie, omg you don't have much luck travelling do you..air pressure of the plane I'm sure played a part in it.. all and all I'm sure you enjoyed your time away..I feel so badly for everyone along the coast, such a financial worry for many, especially those involved in the tourist industry..

Debbie, any graduation photo's..anxious to see... drats about the permit..someone told me that they give you 1 chance to cross over without the passport..I'M GOING to check that out...

Mmmm you going to make strawberry jam? I should try and re-arrange my schedule so see if I can go picking on the weekend, no time to make jam but I'm just like your hubby, sure can eat them...would imagine rasberries are out as well..

LindaKay, took a few photo's of me starting the projects, view of the lake and then got so busy and mosquito's were coming out at 8:00 that I forgot..will get Paul to take a photo and e-mail it to me..almost afraid to call him, after the storm we had last night, who knows if the rain went right through the cover..hope not..

Have to go looking for my camera, not sure when unpacking where I put it..wanted to show you the write up on Kyle..omg, I cried, not because of Kyle, but there was a young boy, just younger than Kyle who had his photo taken with Kyle, he did the ride and he's fighting cancer..2 young boys, both in their own way concerned about the urgency to find a cure!!!!

Quite the morning in town, had my car serviced, going to have the brakes done next week I think , don't have to but soon I will so why not before I head out..off to the nursery, of course there were hanging baskets saying take me home along with some perrenials and annuals...paid for them, just got to the car and in the corner of my eye, what do I see, big SALE sign right where there was cement pieces...had I had a truck there was much I could bring home ..they did have 2 little girl statuettes, different color but same piece..couldn't resist..bought the 2, one for me and I'll give one to Cathy's mom whose birthday was yesterday..I'll tell her it was from Sailor and the kitties..

Then I thought as it was a rainy day, why not do all the cute boutiques along the main street in Midland...I was disappointed on Thursday when I went to get a swap item reflecting my area and they were sold out which meant I had to rethink my swap, omg, what pretties are out there, found everything I wanted so now ready to package it up, I'll not post thought, sending it when I cross over to your side on the 24th...

The 2nd swap July Blast, I found the perfect piece for my swap partner, am thrilled..got to make something also because I just can't send a swap without adding something homemade...so that swap is almost complete..

Hmmmm would love to tell you about what I'm up to today and tomorrow but can't, might be lurkers and they'd know what it is for...boo hoo ...would have love to share the steps I'm taking 1 -2- and 3...oh well I'll take photo's IF I can find my camera and share once I'm able to...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope your ear is doing better. I know they can be quite painful!
Betty, LOL at a Thursday drive. I wish I could, but too many Dr. appt I need to go to. I will try my best and make it next year for sure! But I will fly, not drive.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had to give it a try LindaKay..lol

Talked to mom, says she's very tired, no energy so she's just laying down and resting...we talked about my going across the border, that didn't make her feel better because she said 'could have gone with you-now I won't be able to anymore' drats..told her when her blood gets regulated I'll take her wherever she wants to go..

This DOGGIE GRANDMA isn't happy..went outside to bring the dogs in, had given Ned a few feet to run, instead he dug a hole as big as himself in the lawn..not happy at all..

Got all the animals in and fed, turn around and Ned all but broke an entire arrangement I've looked after all winter..no, not happy at all..just think I've only got until tomorrow night before they come for them, next time, it will be their house I'll be looking after them..

Here's where I did sewing yesterday..nice and shady it was

Ah HA!! That white dog was the one I chased!!LOL What a beautiful place on the lake they have-perfect! The article is nice too-how cool for Kyle to have a whole page article-bet he was feeling like the cat that ate the canary!!

Debbie-it's quite possible that you got the ear thing on the way down on the plane. They say planes are one of the worst places germ wise with all the recycled air and such, many people get sick from them.

Love Strawberry Jam-my Gma makes it every year and usually at Xmas she sends me some-I ration that so it makes it through til the next year-LOL. We don't have any place other than the grocery to get it around here, but the semi-rural area she lives in has strawberry farms, so much cheaper to buy and better berries too.

LK-how exciting!! When is your Bday?? Too bad you aren't coming to the reunion-I'd teach ya how to use your new toy;)

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty - Kyle is such an exceptional young man. I can feel your pride and it is so well deserved.
I can also picture you sewing there by the lake. Looks heavenly.
Sean's baseball team starts their playoffs today so I'm off again. Fri, Sat and Sun this weekend. so nothing got done around here. I'll need to work extra this week for sure....
Waving Hi to Tubby and everyone~~~~

Betty, it was not Graduation.....it was his Prom.

He was awarded Student of the month at assembly Friday morning, and at Prom....when they handed out awards for "best smile, best personality...etc"

He walks away with "Best Hair" I had posted above....but you have been so busy you missed it. I think he is worth looking at twice. LOL

And yes....I think your very right about the plane ride down causing my cold/ear issues.

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy

Oh Debbie, I did miss the red..of course his gorgeous face did me in..what a handsome young man..I always call prom graduation, guess it's because they call it that here??? sorry!

Bet you will have to fight off the girls with your broom, absolutely handsome, but then look at his parents..met your daughter and she's beautiful as well..apple doesn't fall far from the tree....

Are you feeling any better? You'd almost have to think twice about going up in a plane Debbie when you've a cold, not worth it is it??? No, a shorter drive would be much better for you, ahhhh, like coming across the border for a few days..if you aren't well, I could mother you up..

It's so damp and chilly here today, not raining but you can feel it in the air..I've been playing with my project, long process so know I'll have many hours sitting and doing it so better make the best of it..dampness causes difficulties in end results..I know, but I can say what it is..lol..

How exciting Barb to go see Sean play in the playoff's...your housework and crafting can always get done later..they grow much too quickly, if you don't catch every second of it now you'll regret it..

Stacey do you work today?

Brrr think I'm off to turn up the heat..

Need to go to Home Depot to pick up something for my project but have been putting it off...my BIL asked if he could come at 8:00 a.m. to have a shower, my brother Bernie has his washrooms totally ripped apart, doing ceramic on the walls and floor, cupboards etc. so I said yes and have been waiting..it's almost 10:00..he must be running late...think I'll call over and say door is open make yourself at home..could have gone and been back by now...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stacey, my Birthday is today.
Betty, love the area you had for sewing, with that awesome view of the lake! very nice! Sorry the dog dug holes all over! I would not be happy either.
Debbie, how is the ear doing today? Better I hope?
Stacey, I wish I was going too! Just too many Dr. appt to go to. I will try very hard for next year!

Where did my post from Friday go?

I said, LK Nice Ride!!!

Debbie I hope you're feeling better, my goodness girl!

Awesome for Kyle to have a whole page article on him, that's great!

Betty I would be livid at those dogs, they are pretty though. LOL Missy says, "Let me outta here!!! AACK!"

Debbie he is handsome! Love the hair, good for him!! Congrats!!!!

Well, it's 11:00am and we're at a temp of 85* with a real feel of 98*. Ug.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY LK!!!!!!! Hope you have a great day driving around in your new vehicular! lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Tubby!

Crissy, DG has been acting really wierd. Sometimes I can't even log in. Sorry you lost your thread.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, should have added "Happy Birthday" LindaKay..are you having family over today? You've been so spoilt this weekend surely there's not more..lol

Working hard here, just happened to look outside and it's sunshine so might have to move my work area to back deck..

The white dog, Sophie, she's as quiet and docile as they come, it's that 5 month old pup Ned, full of vim and vinegar..she's the digger..was trying to tie them up outside, got the leaches on, wouldn't you know, Ned stepped into the big water bowl, water all over the floor..I was getting towels to sop it up, up and down and into every room he went, and, with the dirt on his paws you can imagine the mess, so got the water sopped up, them put outside, came in and had to wash all the floors..he's digging , guess Greg will have some raking and clean up when he gets here...

As for Lenny, he forgot to call, washed up at a neighbors...

Crissy 85? it's 64 here, maybe the sunshine coming out might warm things up..hope so..

Was talking to Suzanne this morning, Paul let them go home at noon on Friday..wouldn't you know..he and I were talking about my leaving on the 23rd. spending the night at my mom's and then going on to pick up Crissy, said that I had to bring her back for her flight on the next Wedn. and then Thursday being Canada Day, I would come back to work on the Friday and then off for the weekend...he said maybe you should all take the Friday off, won't be busy...I'm ok with that one..lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like your boss takes good care of all of you Betty. Sorry about the dogs. I mailed another card for Ann and Mike yesterday. I don't know what's going on with the mail but it seems to take forever to get to you.
Sean's team lost today but it was a great game. Sometimes it's hard to convince the kids that they played a great game even though they lost. These are double elimination games so they need to lose twice before they are out. So now we have another game on Wed night. Keep your fingers crossed for them.....
Debbie your son is so handsome. Did he have a good time???
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA KAY!!!!! Hope it is wonderfu for you...

Lyndonville, NY

Happy Birthday Linda Kay! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Barb, he was up over 24 hours...I think that is a good time. Went from Prom....to "band jam" sleep over with a bunch of the "guys" and swimming/bridge jumping the following day.....to work for five hours...to a bon-fire at his sisters house with all the siblings. He was so tired he fell asleep in the car on the ride home! He is actually quite mellow today....trust me not happening much at his age!

Tomorrow is last "physical" day of full school. Then testing begins, they go back on a "as required" basis for the state Regents exams.

Betty, don't envy you with that Pup....they sure are a handful aren't they.

Lyndonville, NY

Meant to add....ear does better long as I take motrin 24/7. Not as bad as it was.

High today....65 I think. Quite chilly

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, weekend is almost over and now the sun somes out...

Ohhh to be so young and have the stamina he has..what memories he'll have..

Glad you are feeling better...how has Paul been feeling, still problems with his sight...

Sorry Barb that Sean didn't win...you are right, it's hard to explain the fun is in playing the game not necessarily the winning...so many parents put pressure on these wee one..do hope they win the next game on Wedn. Been to the mail yesterday and no card..I get so frustrated, especially when mailing swaps and it take forever to get there...haven't seen Ann this weekend but she did say they might go up and give support to her brother and SIL...

As for the doggie, not the end of the world I guess, Greg can rake and I'll pick up grass seed, what are doggiegrandma's for?

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Everything seems brighter now that the sun is out..

Bernice saw me working in the gardens and thought I needed a rest, we sat under the gazebo, listening to the birds chirp and did a tour of the gardens so she could tell me if some of what I think are flowers are really weeds, and yes, did find many..haven't even made it to the front gardens for clean up yet...maybe that will be something to do for a few hours when I get home from work...

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

Hey Judy, you suffering from a hang-over today? lol...how did the 25th anniversary go? can't wait to hear about it..

Liz, if you are lurking I'm waving to you...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

The high got to 90* with a heat index of 105! We stayed inside.

Debbie I'm glad your ear's better, lol what a party animal!! He partied so much he partied himself out! I hate it when that happens!!

LOL Betty a lot of the times I have to let my weeds grow some to tell if they're weeds or plants. I don't have a fence so I can't dog sit, thank goodness or I'd have every puppy I see back there. Digging is the absolute worst thing a dog could do to a yard and I would be livid. You handle it so well!!
