Wha, Potager, not a veggie bed. You could charge admission. Patti
Garden Projects 2
patti you sent me to the dictionary:) - potage = soup? so i am a souper?
my fil did ask if i had the help of a surveyor when he saw everything set up:)
Kitchen garden.
Mass is sinking, and it's all Bill's fault!
Patti, what a project! Looks like you've made tremendous progress. Nice!
Bill, your veggie garden looks great.
I worked hard yesterday. Did some more edging and putting down mulch. Mostly, though, I worked on getting more of that rock walkway in my dry garden done. I'm determined to finish this year, possibly by next weekend. I definitely want it done before my plant sale on June 5th. Here's a pic of how it looked last year.
Karen
Fantastic! Looks like you spent more time on yours than I spent on mine ;-)
Miles
Looks wonderful Karen! Nice work!!!
nice pathway karen!
Looks, great, Karen!!!
NICE pathway, Karen
Great looking veggie garden, Bill
Miles, are those boards for the raised bed treated or did you use cedar?
Very nice, guys and gals!
Yes very nice, I'm enviuos of all the space.
flowerjen, those boards are old barn boards from a friend, not treated. They have a new barn and a lot of this wood was found on the property. They stored it in the hay loft.
Karen, that walk is just lovely!
Nutsfordaylily. Wonderful progression with the walk and plants. Naturally I love it as it is similar to our walks, but yours looks wider which I wish we had done. Great job. You list of accomplishments this spring is impressive. Patti
almost done with the wall at the end of the driveway and noticed from high on our back deck that it is crooked - i've been building two feet from the end of the driveway to leave a small bed - the knuckle head paving company built the driveway crooked - can't have that - think i have to "trim" the driveway tomorrow and do a lot of re-work on the wall - if it is going to be done it should be done right - 25' of wall will need to be taken down.
Thanks, everyone!
Bill, those darn driveway people messed you all up, didn't they?!!!!
I did a massive weeding project today. There was a huge mess of invasive tradescantia, among other things, behind my dry garden bed, so I got most of that done today. Here are some before pics.
Karen
Actually, this pic was from when I was about half done.
For a good part of the day that area is in full sun. In late afternoon a very tall choke cherry along the road shades that area. I would love to remove the choke cherry, and an ash, too, and put in something a lot nice looking, like maybe a fastigiate beech.
Karen
Great looking projects all. Patti, you take care of yourself, please.
Sorry Bill !
Karen, really is a great path. I love that stone, if has sharper edges than the tumbled stuff I used...and you did a great job of fitting them togehter in a nice pattern that is well balanced...no easy task I now know. I'll have to look up a pic of that fastigiate beech you want...I'm on a huge tree kick right now, just put in three of them.
Plus, I just discovered the Arnold Arboretum last weekend, run by Harvard...biggest in the us. They have about 260 acres with some of the oldest specemins of certain trees in the country. And everything is labeled...so very educational. I just discovered the tulip tree which I had never seen before....gorgeous and native too....grows huge though...maybe against the woods I could squeeze one in ;-) And on my walk around Boston's Back Bay last night I saw a couple smoke bushes that were trained more like trees...still have to figure out exactly where I can squeeze mine in that is coming from Bluestone this week...
looking good Karen... I just dug up some tradescantia I thought I dug up 2 years ago.. guess I left some roots there
Karen, Patti, Coleen, I enjoy watching your projects progress.
Bill, Do you think if I stack enough rocks here in Pa. we can lever Mass. out of the Atlantic? LOL I really like your garden.
I used old RR ties for some of my hardscape 25 yrs. ago, they need replaced. I figure if I redo it now I'll be 83 by the time they need replaced again and I will not care. LOL
All my projects and garden are on hold, my dad, 81 had a collapsed lung and surgery for repair, so we went buzzing down 95 to Florida, Sunday. We just brought him home tonight, he is doing well and hopefully by next Wednesday we can be on the road home.
Hopefully we can slip away for an afternoon an Bok Tower Gardens, (thanks Louise), http://www.boktower.org/ and we are seeing some interesting things while running around here. Sand Hill Cranes. Ric

Ric glad to hear you dad is on the mend!

Cool, Ric. Best wishes for your father.
Everyone's projects are looking just wonderful. Love that walkway Karen. Hope it fills in nicely for you.
Bill that veggie patch is looking like a work of art. What are the green posts made of?Patti looks like it's all go out there at your place too. Love seeing all these projects as they are getting done.
wha your soup garden looks tres organized. Are those wires overhead to tie stuff up or to befuddle lions and tigers and bears (and deers)?
Cousin Nut you path is TOTALLY fabby! I am SO tired of the weeding/clean up thing; I took a break and planted some rosas and irisii. Your DLs in my garden are looking very healthy this year so hopefully they will all be fleuriforus ^_^
Thoughts and prayers for your dad Ric
