Sistah's Reunion at Cookies in Ohio #2

the garden is soooo worth it !!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I get excited whenever I think about walking the garden at Joan's. She has a full time job. (Hospital for 41 years...) and it's hard to believe that a full time gardener doesn't live there... she mostly has shade and she teaches classes in hypertufa trough making. She has several sitting around, and they are so cute.

Raleigh, NC

y'all, it's definite - I can't make it. The bill for the A/C repair pretty much cinched it.

editted to add- besides, I've got two cars to sell for Mom and Dad and about 20 years of overdue yard maintainence to catch up on in two weeks so they can stay out of trouble with the City of Raleigh.

Poo Bon! Did they get a 'fix it ticket?'

Joyce-my only concern with the lunch outside is how warm it will be. If it is warm and sticky like it has been here lately I won't be able to do it. The heat has really been getting to me during this whole baby thing. I figured if we did the tour in the am then the heat wouldn't be such a big deal, but around lunch is when it starts getting to be a bit too much for me....if it was a normal summer wouldn't be too bad, but this year it has been hotter and stickier than normal. If you all decide to do the lunch at her house and it's too warm, I will just go someplace else to eat so you all can enjoy your time.

To be honest after all the talking about Jungle Jim's I am curious to see it. Plus DH LOVES the old time candy and stuff, so I have been wanting to check it out. Of course will go with what the group wants to do.....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

It's such a unique place, that I think everyone would enjoy it. But like you, I'll go with the majority, as we are a gardening group!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I just go with the flow...just point the way and I'll be there!

Glenview, IL

OK Girls, I need to know the tshirt size!!

I have only received 5...There are 13 names on Joyces list.

Maybe Joyce you can give me a guesstimate on their sizes...

So...JoAnnes is having a sale. I got 6 of the shirts so far...thats only half.Sue, Sissy Kathy, Bertie size please, pretty please with a cherry on top! Also, what do you want in your omelette??

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Bertie will be a medium. You'll have to ask Kathy, and Sue!

Bertie likes all the stuff in the omelet that I like, and probably onion, too!

Victoria Harbour, ON

oooh you creating t-shirt masterpieces Judy?
That and cooking..wow..can't wait!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay....scoped out the quilt shop today. So many neat and cute things. One quilt had Stacey written all over it....well, not literally..... ;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm in for the quilt shop excursion, will have to stay behind for the gardening and Jungle Jim's.
My legs don't do extended walking :( Sorry Cookie. I'll entertain myself with a book. (Might change my mind then!)
Kel wants me to be there on Thursday.. hmmm.. he's too keen to get me out of the house!

Sistah Judy, put me in for a XX. Vegetarian omellette here, but no bell peppers please.

i like salsa in my omlettes.

i can bring eggs
and does anyone that loves heat that melts your face off want some of my canned tomatoes with jalepenos. ? the longer it sits the hotter it gets ! and i m at my limit with the heat cage LOL LMK :) its great in chilli and other stuff like very hot bloody marys ! or a good marinade for a steak.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Raising my hands HIGH up. Me, me, Susie... I love heat in anything!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

If I have to choose what to do, I'm going for gardening and Jungle Jim's.

Ok heavenscape got you down for one. they are quart size .

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay, Jaye...Thursday it is. Come in the morning. That way we'll have all day together! ^_^

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OOOO-a quilt store too and they already have a quilt for me:)

Tante-I am gonna have to find a little red wagon so you can go to the garden and Jungle Jims. As for the garden, I wouldn't imagine that it is ginormous and probably all flat with places to sit down and rest. I could be wrong-Joyce you wanna chime in?? And does Jungle Jim's have anything that Tante can ride in like a motorized scooter of some sort?? If I wasn't preggo I could carry you monkey style on my back;)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Will pass on the tomatoes Sue--hot things and me just don't seem to get along.

Judy, love veggie omelets also with black olives--but not necessary.

Cookie, was teasing about the quilt shop--looking out for me, Jaye, Janice and Betty. LOL However, I will not complain if you know of one close.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

I know that we don't have much time at Cookies so this wont be one of the things we do but thought I would tell you about it anyway. Friend brought me a flyer about the "Barn Quilt Trail" in Clinton County which is near Cookie. There are all kinds of barns that have quilt blocks on them and some have been there since 1810. The flyer shows the block and a picture of some of the barns and it sounds like something that I will be doing in the future. I'll bring the flyer with me so you can look.

I have been without a computer for a while and boy, have I missed it!

I will be going to St. Louis to see Dad for Father's Day and not getting back until Tuesday night; then driving down to see you all on Friday of same week. I may be really tired when I get home but don't all good things happen together?

Victoria Harbour, ON

You have me laughing Janice, maybe if we don't sleep we could do so much more..last time I went to Frankenmuth with a bunch of girls they actually found stores open all night..hardly any sleep but got a lot into 2 days...looks like this trip might be the same..

I've spent all morning on the computer, so far after I pick up Crissy we're heading to see Niagara Falls and if Crissy is up to it a ride of the Maidon of the Mist then if time permits possibly Tryon's Folly in Lewiston - It's the Freedom Crossing Underground Railway Museum, who knows what our next stop will be..same thing..packing as much into a week's trip and hoping to include some of my area sightseeing..

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Janice, I have read about the barns but can't remember where. Hummm, might be a side trip for me and Kim when we start home.

Have a safe trip to see your Dad and then on the see us. Can't believe it has been a year since we all met. Where does time go?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

My mom has volunteered her walker that has a seat on it for the garden tour for Jaye, and yes, I believe that JJ's has those carts. There are several benches at Joan's garden as well. So I don't think we'll be letting her use THAT excuse!!!! ^_^

Lady that is a great tour. We have one here in Champain county too. I love it.
ok so on friday what are we doing ?
JJ or ?? then sat we go to Joans :)
not hot stuff for marion got it. :)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, most people will be getting here Friday, so I'm thinking the quilt shop if people arrive early enough.

Then Saturday is the tour/talk at Joan's, then lunch at Panera, either eaten at Joan's or at Panera. Then, looks like most people want to do JJ's after lunch. When we get back here, we'll have dinner and Stacey's baby shower. Much laughter and talking at all times will be demanded.
^_^

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Time to move on ladies!

I'm getting excited!
