Coffee Break #38 - Happy May

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi JoAnn
I did buy some coleus so far, still need other stuff.
I admired a white azalea that I've been thinking about since, may go back today or Monday. Think we've had our last frost?

Thomaston, CT

I hope so!

This year is so freaky so I am still not sure!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - got horrible news from my mom. The woman who lives in the apt next door to them jumped out the window (4th floor) a couple of weeks ago. She survived, with a broken femur as the main damage. She apparently went out feet first. No brain damage. She is 44 and has a young daughter.

Feels like a curse. About 1980 our close friend who lived two apts away, and had been in a deep depression, jumped out. She also survived but had extensive damage, including brain deficits, and was in the hospital for months.

Then, a few years ago, the brother of the owner of the adjoining apt building jumped off the roof and died.

What a nightmare.

Someone needs to excise(is that the word I'm looking for?) that building

Isn't it a little late to freeze the head after being already buried???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Exorcise.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that is terrible Victor... I have no idea how anyone could jump like that... craziness

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

How terribly sad, Victor! Hard to fathom why so many in the same building are affected that way!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure she has had a problem with depression for some time. It's very sad.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, depression does awful things to people.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It really does. I've seen it first-hand a lot.

I can't imagine choosing that method, though. So much easier with pills.

I love the Japanese!!

My security program won't let that page load.

South Hamilton, MA

Just as well.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee.

A Japanese designer came up with a bra that is two planters for growing rice! I volunteer to tend to them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - news getting worse.

Too scary for words.

Another example of why I don't like Google. Amazing that there has been silence in this country even though they stole the same private information. (They are very well connected politically here.)

You play with fire, you get burned.....good for her husband for walking out!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree. Kills me that people just cannot take responsibility for their actions.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that's just sad... I used to hate it living in my parents town.. lots of people leave stuff around.. might get shot if you ask them to clean it up

Jim was cut back to 32 hrs a week, Monday like I said was going to happen. If he gets laid off again I know he wont go back. The man can make more money by mistake then he can at that stinking mill.

Heres another story. Went to an antiqe auction Sunday and the auctioneer could not give stuff away. I picked up 2 items for 10 bucks each and they are at least worth 100. Here is what is called End of Day Glass. Its where the workers who made glass could use up what was left over for their own - what ever they wanted to make. Here is a handblown bowl I got. I think its georgous and really dont want to part with it but its on ebay and up for sale :-)
