I wonder what percentage of the 15% had a passenger! ^_^
Coffee Break #38 - Happy May
Sofonisba-
As I posted a few days ago: my rhody, which is usually loaded with blooms, has only 50% blooms this year.
Someone, I think it was ROBINDOG ( but I'm not sure), said it had to do with irregular weather last autumn, when the buds are forming.
You are not alone!
Oh, my!
Okay, last post for me til next Wed. Have a great week. I'm turning the computer off, cuz if I don't I won't finish packing etc and then I'll miss my flight. See you when I get home.
Have a great time, Jan!
Safe trip Jan!!
Hi Harper, yes, rhodies go through cycles of having few blooms....wet, cold weather last summer contributed. Wilt-pruf is to keep them from getting dried out....with all of our rain last year, it wasn't a problem. I'm not surprised at that driving survey...seems I've been behind them all! I passed someone on I-495, a nasty road, who had a novel propped up on his steering wheel.
Never experienced that. The only time I did not have blooms on my rhodies is before they croaked.
with the line of rodies i have here i have seems like every 3 years although i have not paid attention to what conditions might casue it.
I had a little less blooms this year, but maybe cause I pruned last year??? Also I was watching chickadees over the winter peck at the blossom pods(whatever you call them???) Maybe because it was such a cold winter they needed more food...I have really no clue.
Un-freaking-believable.

Maybe it's a dwarf? If not, shouldn't be in parents' custody.

I was sticking wild honeysuckle in my hair as it grows all over here and a hummer followed me right into the mudroom!
That is WAY COOL pixie ^_^
I don't think the hummer thought so, but it definately was one for my memories ^_^
One of my co-workers was wearing a bright orange and red dress today and said she was attracting hummers, so I told her your story.
Funny, Deb.
Did she attract any Deb?

not in the office!
They're reporting that the latest effort to stop the oil leak seems to be working. Let's hope so.
Fingers crossed!
Fingers and toes crossed here too!
Oh, heavens....pink & yellow lady slippers....would die for one, but I know you can't touch them! And I don't have the piney woods they love, but I would love to paint one.
I'll start a new thread.
Marilyn - I'll email you a closer-up photo of the pink ones if it will be sufficient for you to paint one. Just let me know if you'd like it.
