Saw the top 10 baby names today in the paper....most of the girls' are the old-fashioned ones that my aunts and grandmothers were named. Boys' names are biblical. When we were searching for a name, it had to be one that didn't connect to one of our students, so the choices were few!

Yup, Harper Lee was the first. If not, she's certainly before me.

It was hard....we never decided on a girl's name, luckily we had Garret.

Heard a woman reported describing the Times Sq. explosive device as resembling an 'IUD', instead of an 'IED'!! Oops.

Dr's appt tomorrow. The stupid eye is acting up again. Sometimes I wish they would just rip it out an put in a freaking glass one.

I have an eye DR. app. as well. However this is finishing up & checking after cataracht op. However it means that I stay home & DH flies to Denver for a funeral. Trying to write everything down about cell phones, meeting places for DD & DH. Plus it's supposed to rain on Wed, messing up the garden.

I have just the opposite problem I can't see far, have worn glasses since I was 16.

Duh - that's what I have - can't see distance. Had glasses for that since 23. Close-up problem is a sign of AGE!!! Hee hee. ^_^

Ditto. Eye Doc has confirmed. Have the tippy head bifocals now.

I wear progressives, although since operation 5 yrs ago can read without them. I do need them for phone books etc, but not normal reading.

Hope things get better, Sherrie & Iris. Have been wearing lenses since age 19...before that, glasses, which I hated! But even with lenses, some print is impossible, like the telephone directory.

eye checkup this morning; new prescription, but test read was fine at 20/20 so newies will help. All fine with the new lens 'see you in 6 months'.
