Love Charlie Browns' salad bar.
Coffee Break #38 - Happy May
me too... when we go... I usually eat so much at the salad bar.. can't eat the dinner I ordered.. but that flat iron steak rocks!!!
Cool - congrats!
thank you... it was better than the oil change we won for the christmas one 2 years ago.. limited to 4 quarts of oil... I looked at Randy and said yeah what about the other case we need for the truck... LOL.. gave it to my elderly neighbor
Aww, that was sweet
Don't understand the article on bird food....I thought organic meant raised without pesticides...what does that have to do with protein content?....And my birds will eat anything, I have to refill daily with whatever I buy them....Congrats on the prize, Allison!
Congrats onewish!
Duh - after getting the external HD and transferring the photos and videos, I learned that Carbonite does not back up external drives! It's on their to-do list. So back they went to the D drive. Doh!!
Headache excuse may no longer work:

what a bummer Victor
You say something?
that comment was about your hard drive
:)
CRAPPOLA I got bumped from the beginner photography class :( Cameraguy did say there is room in the intermediate/senior class. ROFLOL at that thought! Plan B: Cut a swath of tulipa and pay camerguy a visit with the camera and the tome manual and look desparate. Perhaps bring some appies or homemade bread? hmm what would cameraguy like I wonder?
That's too bad, Dahlia.........I'm betting on homemade cookies.
Victor - that's a shame. Oh, let me say that louder: THAT'S A SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marilyn - we've been having evening and rose-breasted grosbeaks at our feeder for the last few days. This is the first time we've had the rose-breasted here. We had them in Conn., and I love their coloring. We also have some really teeny hummingbirds that keep the girls busy making sure we're safe from them. LOL I'm so smitten by these little girls....they are making life fun and hearts warm. They are getting to that age where they listen to what they are told, and if spoken to, they stop doing whatever they aren't supposed to be doing, like chewing on the pretty throw on the chair just now. Their happiness and enthusiasm for life is catching. :)
DonnieB isn't that just the bestest things about furry friends ^_^ They always make you smile (even when they muck things up a tad). The crazy ole cat is relieved to no longer have to fend off the howly females who jump him when he goes out (the hussies :O) and is now busy shaping/flattening HIS catmint.

Talk about little cuties! And they listen! Suey listens 90% of the time, the dale 10%. What a nice surprise having both grosbeaks, Louise. I've had the rose here most years, the evening ones only came many years ago...would love to see them again.
They don't look too happy, Louise!
Yes, it is a bummer about the drive. Very annoying.
WOWSER it seems the puppies got BIG fast. Luv the red kerchiefs ^_^
They were very tired, Victor. They had been at the groomer for a few hours and jumped right up there to catch a few zzzzzzzz's. Before they lay down, they just sat there staring at me, so I had to take their photo. They bounced back pretty quickly after a nap though!
Dahlia - the red kerchiefs are actually harnesses. I had to try this type, because Bailey chews off Carli's harnesses within minutes whenever they are in a crate together. It has become a self-imposed, Guinness Book of World Record-type challenge for her to see if she can top her old time. I was buying the Lupine guaranteed harnesses (if they get chewed, they replace them for free) and sending back two a week. So far, she hasn't figured out how to undress Carli in this one. LOL At this point, they might as well start wearing shirts and pants! (I think not.) These are made of a soft mesh that is pretty comfy. After the teething is over, the Lupine harness might get put back on. You can probably see that they also have a collar with their name and phone number on it, but that's just for the horrible, unspeakable situation when we are traveling and they get lost.......don't even think it!
they are too cute Louise!!... Riley & Wily are visiting for tonight... they are still in love!!!... she was cranky when he first came.. didn't want to be bothered because he was so hyper.. after things calmed down they were making nice again
The crazy ole cat was a rescue and one of the conditions of adoption, besides neutering, was that he got tatooed in his ear. I was and still am not comfortable with tatooing but when he was a kitten he jumped off the apartment balcony when we were travelling and got lost and whoo hoo did that work like a charm. Good safety measure DonnieB. Knock on my head that it will never be needed though.
Hi everyone! I have to share an experience that happened yesterday. I got a phone call from my youngest daughter at 5:45 a.m. - she had been attacked by a coon that was lurking under her car when she was loading her luggage for a vacation. She jumped into the car to escape the coon, but it went in after her. She finally managed to get the animal off her ankle and when she shut the door, she caught the coon's paw in the door - good thing. The police shot the coon and we're still waiting for the test results. The hospital and public health are assuming that the animal was rabid because it attacked her. The car was out in the open in the driveway and the coon could have quietly escaped out from under the car on the other side. It was a very scarey and painful experience - bites and sratches and then shots into the wounds. Wild animals can be dangerous and will attack if they are rabid. We have lived with wild animals all of our lives and have never been bothered (except maybe skunks), but I will definitely be more mindful and careful. Eleanor
p.s. She is still going on her vacation cruise and has two doses of rabies serum for the ship doctor to administer, lots of antibiotics and pain killers!!
OMG Eleanor... that is terrible.. hope she will be ok... yes thank god she did trap it's foot.. years ago when the shots were bad in the stomach... my friend got bit and they heck of a time catching the thing to get it tested.. she was lucky and they did catch it... and it was all clear.. she was protecting her babies
Oh Eleanor, that's awful, hope everything is ok.
Sorry to hear that Eleanor, please give your DD our best! We have recently had a confirmation of rabies in the next town over...very scary stuff!
Oh no. How terrible. Best wishes for her.
What an awful experience...she's brave going on the cruise!
Glad that she caught it for tests. Shots aren't fun on the cruise but I'm glad that she doesn't have to cancel.
Thanks for your concern. DD did leave for her cruise and so far no word on the test results. I will keep you posted. Eleanor
Oh, Eleanor....how terribly frightening and painful for DD and stressful for you. What a trooper your DD is! We should all be very thankful that rabies shots are available, even though they would not be fun - especially on a vacation. Wishing her well!
Louise
Oh my gosh, how horrible! Glad she was able to go on her cruise.
My dad had rabies shots when he was little, since that experience always hated doctors
Randy and I saw an oriole in the yard yesterday... of course we were covered in dirt and no camera nearby... but I was so excited to see one alive finally... after finding one DOA last year
The orioles swarm in here when the chokecherries ripen......they look like Christmas ornaments. Saw a hummer today on the coral bells.
wow really... I have been looking for them since we moved here.. this is a first that was still breathing
Apparently Bill Clinton was rear-ended while on his way to give a speech at Yale yesterday. That's a switch for him to be on the receiving end!
Would love to see an oriole here.
so cool Sherrie.... I have one sitting in my pussy willow... and beating all the others up when they get nearby
