Judy, Dad loves the little kitty! He holds it any chance he gets! She is now eating about 2 tablespoons of kitty milk about every 4 hours, so she is getting there. She just loves to roll over and have her belly rubbed!

Judy I hope the dr agrees to do the procedure. If he cuts that nerve it will take away the pain, we just have to pray that he will agree to do this. My mom's on her way to Modesto, CA right now so I'm going to be checking her email for her while she's in route there and in route back in 2 weeks.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Talk about busy today, just got my first rest period..lol

Have been on MSN with sister Sharon though, it's 7 year anniversary of my dad's death today, she's finding it difficult..she doesn't do well with anniversaries...told her I was thinking of going to the grave site on my way home tonight and drop off flowers, that made her feel a bit better....you know I'm the official gravesite caregiver for everyone, not sure how I became it but I am.....other than that busy/busy as always

Sorry I didn't get to call you over the weekend Judy, got into my projects and/or had company, will do so shortly though..

LindaKay, didn't know you had a new kittie??? can just see your dad with it..nothing brings happiness like a puppy or a kittie...you have to feed it? gather no mommy then? how did I miss this...too cute...

I'm not sure Crissy, think I would rather have use of my bowel and endure my pain ..my thoughts anyway, goodness knows what else could go wrong because of having that operation..you didn't send Dave to California with them did you? 90 how wonderful, too bad you have to work..we're only in the high 50's here but the wind is down and the sun is out...

Judy isn't it fun getting these swap packages..I got my froggie box with the most adorable trio froggie's on lily pads which are solar..now I'm waiting for my fat quarter swap and my Easter Basket swap..with all mind behind me I joined the t-shirt swap and what's from your hometown swap..lol..always something on the go BUT the swap I'm most waiting for it the Red/White/Blue swap..each time I've been to Buffalo I pick up something RWB plus I got a great idea to make something as well...going to get ahead of it..as for the t-shirt swap, I used to make some fantastic t-shirts so going to try my hand at that but can't until I get a name for the correct sizing...

You know Judy it just amazes me, mind boggling, with you living in a populated housing district how you would get deer...when I was visiting I thought to myself, she must have some pretty tasty flowers/shrubs for the deer to take such a chance of coming into populated area..lordy, I've bushland behind me and no deer..lol..guess I'm not planting the right things...

This morning I noticed while driving, about a 4" band on each arm just above the wrist is raised, red and itchy..then it came to me , I'm allergic to a sun ray which is closest to the earth during March,May, September and November..specialist said it's those months this particular ray is closest to the earth surface, imagine..he also told me to stay indoor during those months, as though that would work or that I would listen..so yesterday I enjoyed sitting on the couch, doing crochet, guess the areas where my sleeves didn't reach (wearing 3/4length sleevers) the rays touched my skin...itchy, itchy..the needles I was recommended to get are not good for me because of my damaged kidneys so put up with it I will..guess I'll have to close the drapes..lol...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness Betty, never heard of one being alergic to the sun! Please make sure you have long sleeves on.
Last week momma cat left one baby kitty in the back yard. She had 4, one died, and she took the others off somewhere, and for some reason, she left the runt. So I have been bottle feeding it every four hours day and night. She is finally sleeping through the night, so I can catch up on my sleep. So sorry, I thought I posted it here.
Dad just loves the little kitty. I think it is a little girl, and all she does is squeek, she can't meow very good yet, so I call her squeeky!
This is Dad holding the kitty. She is about 3 weeks now.

Scotty gets up by his self and walks at a fast pace up the halls. He wants out so bad. Doc was going to call me today but no go. I will go down tomorrow and listen to how he is going to escape that place. It is all my fault. I have him where I want him. OH! ME!! Prayers for all BEV

This one is for you Tubby

Two women were sitting next to each other at Murphy's Bar & Grill. After a while one looks at the other and says, 'I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland .
The other woman responds proudly, 'Yes, I sure am!'

The first one says, 'So am I! And where about in Ireland are ya from ?

The other woman answers, 'I'm from St.John's , I am.'

The first one responds, 'So, am I!! And what street did you live on?'

The other woman says, 'A lovely little area it was in the west end. I lived on Warbury Street in the old central part of town.'

The first one says, 'Faith and it's a small world. So did I! So did I! And what school did ya go to?'

The other woman answers, 'Well now, I went to Holy Heart of Mary, of course.'

The first one gets really excited and says, 'And so did I. Tell me,what year did you graduate?'

The other woman answers, 'Well, now, let's see. I graduated in 1964.'

The first woman exclaims, 'The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us ! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same pub tonight. Can you believe it, I graduated from Holy Heart of Mary in 1964 me self.

About this time, Michael walks into the bar, sits down and orders a beer.

John, the bartender, walks over to Michael, shaking his head and mutters, 'It's going to be a long night tonight.'

Michael asks, ' Why do you say that, John?'

John answers, 'The Murphy twins are drunk again.'

I am soooo laughing Barb..kept trying to figure out the punchline before the end of the joke and didn't see that one coming...

Here's one for Tubby as well

A Defensive Driving Test

You're driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left is a 'drop off', (the ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are travelling on) and on your right is a fire engine travelling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse, which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is a galloping zebra. Both the horse and zebra are also travelling at the same rate of speed as you.

What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Linda Kay meant to tell you if I lived closer I'd be going after that good looking dad of yours..handsome man indeed!

Heart stopped this morning when they say another one of our soldiers died, about the same age as Scott and from nearby area, wasn't he but another father of 2 has fallen..prayers go to his family...I'd love to have time off work to go to the Highway of Hero's when he is repatriated...he's our 143rd we've lost I believe...

Mary, sorry you are going through bad times, maybe the trip to Disney will help sort things out...I'll be thinking of you...lordy I love your gardens..

Bev, hugs to you..good luck today with your meeting with the doctor..
perhaps between the 2 of you a solution might be found..I just love your photo's..tell you, you should be framing and selling them..I know I'd buy one..

Betty, those are so nice. You have been very busy making them!

Victoria Harbour, ON

thanks LindaKay, I'll have to take photo of all the rag quilts..

Glenview, IL

Good morning!
Betty, the afgans are so pretty! Wow, you have been busy, 8 completed you must have worked non stop!

Linda Kay, Aw the photo of squeeky and dad is adorable. I am glad to hear the kitten is doing so well now. Yaya you get to sleep through the night. giggles, I just wanna tickle her little belly too.

Debby, glad to see you dashing through. Hope the is good for you.

Mary, Well, yay your trip is almost hear. I hope you loads of fun.
OH MY, I love your garden! Is that plant in the front a family of the Hosta?, its gorgeous!!

Barb! waiving hello there. LOL, I enjoyed yours and Betty's Joke...

Tubby, Yep..So glad your home!!

OMG, Betty. Yep, we do have quite the wild zoo happening! LOL, I was telling Liz, very excitedly I might add as Last week, We had a pair of Ducks appear in our yard!! This is a first that we've seen them in the yard, they were after the bird feed too. First person I thought of was Liz and her feathered friends. They came back the next day and i tossed some seed just for them. LOL, they came and sat right outside the deck doors for a while too...I did take photos, so I will share them as soon as I clear the camera of the picture from the trip.

Well, got a little bed all cleared and re-planted, looks real nice...Also, did some clean up around the front gardens, still much more work to do.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Oh Bev! Thank you for such a beautiful photo. They always bring smiles. I am so happy to hear Stotty is seems to be doing so well. i guess with prospect of going home helps alot! Hey, did you get my postcard??

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Judy - no promotion, just more work, and appreciation. If I can ever get a listing of what I do, I can hand it in to Executive, and they can re-write my job classification (which would mean a raise) - IF I can get it done......... no time, no time.........

Victoria Harbour, ON

You soon had better take time to smell some roses Susan...you've not stopped in months..is sure to catch up with you...

Hello To All;

Well Bev - so Scott is home!?!? How is he taking it... hope you are not completely swamped and will get some "time out for Bev"...

Judy - the very front of the pic is a red amaryllis and a variagated canna (orange flower later) that are competing for space... almost looks like one plant doesn't it ! I think I sent some of the variated canna to Trish...wonder if it ever lived.... want to see the ducks... do you live near a lake?

I'll attach a pic of our new neighbor... and DH's pride & Joy... I named him "Zippity"...I know Betty knows why....

Betty - LOVE your merry go round joke! Tubby Good ones too...!

I'll pop back in a bit...

Betty if I was her I'd do it. It changes the whole perspective of pain when you actually see her in perfect health and unable to do anything but walk bent over like a little old lady and not able to hardly move at all. She has one stoma already anyway.

Big Big Big hugs Bev You know we're here when you need us!

I was busy busy today, quite an interesting day if I say so myself...someone said that they weren't worried about saving a ton of money because they are already 50 and just might be dead in 20 years. Someone else, who is 51, agreed, saying they certainly hope they're not dead in 20 years. Ms Cheerful piped up and said that she's not going to be dead in 20 years, she eats too healthy for that (never mind the drugs and alcohol and how way way way unhealthy she used to eat not 3 years ago and how way way way overweight she was not 2 years ago, and remember she never does anything human like make basic mistakes and all, she's just perfect in every way!) Anyway, the gal who brought up this subject asked her, "How old are you?" She said, "58" The gal said, "Well there's a good chance that you might be dead in 20 years." OOOOOOOOO she got mad mad mad mad and I said that anyone of us could drop at any given second, she spun around in her chair and screamed at me, "Well not ME!!!" My mom called and I had to drop out of the conversation, it's probably a good thing, and I was ignored the rest of the day, hopefully I'll be ignored all week. LOL!!!

Back to my mom, they got to Modesto at 9:00pm Central time. Her doctor emailed her and he said that he feels she needs to give it more time, but is sending her some forms to fill out, they happen to be the same forms she filled out when she was about to have the right nerve cut. She completely disagreed with him, got mad, and whatever, I tried to explain that he's not saying she can't have it done, just not at this specific time. She understood and said that he's just trying to tell her how she feels, but 5 other nerve doctors have told her that after having a nerve cut she needs to give it between 2 to 4 years before getting another cut because it takes nerves that long to heal after being moved around. She agreed but said all those doctors are wrong too, so I got off the phone cause I really didn't want to hear how the doctors are wrong and she's right.

Iye yey yey.

Mary I was supposed to be at Disney World last week! That got the kabosh on it the minute Dave lost his job. I'm kinda glad we didn't go now, but May is the perfect time to go to Florida, any other time is too hot and humid, I've heard. I want to take another cruise to Key West, I loved Key West!

Signing off for the night, I'll see ya'll later!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!!

I've been sending out resumes! At least 3-5 a day.

Oh My Gosh, found a job that's got my name written all over it! Plus it's practically next door. Sent a resume w/cover letter...OH this is the job for me please keep fingers crossed.

the only real bummer is it's only $11.00 and hour, good benefits though.

Hey Where is everybody???? Betty, where are you?

Hope you are having a good day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, just thinking to myself, 'drats, this working just doesn't seem right, I'm usually here doing crochet, watching movies etc.etc. and I've had to work the last 3 morning..yikes, not good for me! lol

What kind of job Judy, hmmm either in a gardening store or craft store right? know both would make me happy regardless of the per/hour rate...

Was trying to get on this morning, had a bit of a headache, was moving slow, had 5 tables to clear in the craft room because the girls were coming to paint, ended up they didn't so now I have to take everything back out to continue with my projects..

Crissy what a dilema your mom is in..doomed either way...no fun this getting old, regardless just how healthy you are...I'm sure though seeing as these Dr.'s are in unison that what they are saying must be correct...
Drats, lol, you guys sure can get on some interesting topics..sounds as though you all have strong personalities..

Waving to Scotty...Bev, how are things going this morning..hope you have sunshine and you get to spend some time with your lillies...gardening is calming..can see Scotty sitting on the deck watching you ... what did the Dr. have to say? must have been positive or you'd not have taken him home?? that might not be so, you may have just given up...

Debbie how's Paul? and yourself? saw you might have weather in the 70's today, hope you also get to enjoy the sunshine..that always makes things seem brighter..

Tubby, you doing ok...imagine Shirley changing tires...did you teach her?

Here I am though, little time before lunch so I will chat...

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Shirley is doing fine.....She is at work lol..............

Tubby

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't you get into any mischief Tubby while she's away..hope you are enjoying watching your gardens grow..won't be long you'll be eating out of them won't you?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Judy! If you could get that job it would be awesome!!! Remember any job in this economy is a good job. I have a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology working as a Senior Secretary for $12.00 an hour. I should be making $30.00 an hour.

Betty she is stuck at the moment. What's bad is it's not age causing this. All this is from a doctor sewing her up wrong when she was 43. Yes, she's been in some sort of pain or another since she was 43.
She'll be 62 in August. That's why she's so adamant about being out of pain.

Hi Tubby! Bev! Mary! Susan! LK! Barb! Debbie! Liz! Stacey! Audrey! Anyone else I missed!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'd better agree that she's not old Crissy, we're the same age..sure hope she can get some pain relief..terrible way to live...

You've just reminded me, I'd best call my mom tonight to see how she is coping with her injuries...

Talk about a storm that just rolled in, can't see outside for heavy rain then add the lightning and thunder..wow..maybe it will pass by the time I leave in 15 minutes..

Is the economy in USA showing signs of recover..all they talk about here is how well we're doing..house building in Toronto broke all records the past month...

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, the weather is on...and there is a long line of those storms. Coming over here also later on....says potential to be severe.

Paul is back to regular work and routine, and sadly has worked the last two weekends...also doing a roofing job. Money is money nowdays and helps.

Of all things, my swelling is back. I thought after loosing some weight it would help....but don't know what is going on. BP is OK, called the doc, he thinks perhaps too much salt...although I have been very good. Increase my pill for two days....so haven't gone far from the house.

Crissy, your dear mom has been through so much. I just pray she gets some comfort.

Tubby, so so very glad your back home....behave!

And Bev, honey, be good. Don't over do....and Scotty...you be good to that woman. She loves you dearly and wants you to get much better!

Judy, I can't wait to hear about the job.....I am doing the same thing here. Trying to find one. Wish the stores were not so far.....offices are not hiring much at all.

Waving to Liz....how are you sweety. I miss you....

Mary...my son is going through the same thing...and I have shed so many tears. What the heck is it with these boys?

Waving and running.....
Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie - I "feel your pain" ! Really... what is up with these boys? I need to get a picture of me PULLING DS18 out of the High School by his HAIR..... that's literally how I feel....

and adding salt to the wound... I find out yesterday that Some (how many?) of his graduation announcements went out WITHOUT the Name cards OR pictures......?!?!?!?

Yes - I have shed tears for the last 2 weeks......

We are headed to Disney Sunday - Driving down... Crissy - I am so sorry you didn't make it there this year.... They are renovating some parts so should be 'better than ever' when you do get to go.....

Anyone have some funny graduation stories of stuff that "didn't go as planned" ? Maybe that will help....

I guess graduations are for Mamas........ DS could care less....

Hugs,
Mary

Good score on the patterns. Place them on ebay, if you don't use them.

Hives are doing good for now, they are from stress. Maybe I need some of your pills!

Morning everyone! Probably last day for me to be at a computer, but I will check in when I can. I am leaving here at noon, driving to San Antonio, and flying out at 9:30 Friday. I will be back next week Saturday. You all be good while I am gone. Taking Dad to Washington for my Brother to watch for the summer.

LOL Liz, oh yea she's still at it. Her coffee was so strong this morning that you can feel the sandiness from the coffee grounds in your mouth, and it's made my stomach hurt. I need to go downstairs to the deli and buy a cup of something drinkable. She said she made it that strong because she's tired. I didn't know she bought the coffee here. Good Grief.

Our storms are way gone, they don't come through here like they do in CA, it's completely different. The numbers came out last night, there were 18 tornadoes total, 9 on Friday, 9 on Saturday, a couple of EF1's and the rest were split between EF2's and EF3's.

How are you doing Bev?

Tubby I bet it is good to be home. LOL ]:->
