crissy, I'm watching it on the weather channel..nasty stuff! Please let us know how you're doing when you get yourself woke up again! Now they're saying TN is going to have a rough time of it too..
Having lived in Oklahoma, I know how scary this is..

Good morning!
Crissy, I wholeheartedly agree with Chris. Do let us know how you're doing. Hope the tornados take a different path and leave you alone.
Hi Chris. How are you? Any more pictures of baby Kailey?
At the other building, I bug Thunder for her DGD's pictures. Somehow looking at precious babies brighten up my day!!
The RED, WHITE and BLUE Swap is on!!
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1093200/
I wish I could do the swaps still. Oh well.
I just got up, they have extended the tornado watch until 11am, and there are spotty storms coming up from nowhere but I think we'll be ok now. Hang on to your hats in TN!! This is horrible. Dr. Greg Forbes on the Weather Channel said yesterday this was going to be a tornado outbreak, dozens of tornadoes. He wasn't wrong, again!
I'm going to go make some coffee and see what Dave's doing, I heard him start the washer a bit ago, and Tiga seems to be waiting for me lol
I'm afraid we're not prepared for tornados here. It's rare here, but last year, there were 2 that hit this area.
JAYE, please, oh please be careful. Everyone be careful for that matter. I need each and everyone of you here!!!!
!
We will Maid M. Hope your kitty gets some help from the Vet.
Please stay safe and secure those of you who are in the storms path...
I had a busy day yesterday. Exercise, plasma donation, stopped at Lowes to try and get 5 for $10 mulch (sold out), then to Berns Garden Center and spent my $25.00 gift certificate on Barley Extract for the string algae in the pond ($24.99) have to get that cleaned up before the pond tours start! LOL...
I couldn't believe the prices on perennials at Berns..oh my...I have a garden worth a fortune! They were selling some hostas in gal. containers for $24.99. Some heucheras for $19.99...geesh...
Then home, and potted up a gift saw palmetto frond and two iris. Also got the Frosted Violet heuchera in the ground. Then cleaned the filter on the pond (and it needs it again already!) The trees are dropping so much little stuff that the leaf skimmer gets clogged and really slows down the flow of the waterfall. Sigh...always something.
Cookie, if you're hinting that we should help you with your pond when we get there.. try again!!
ROFL!!! We're there to relax, sistah!!
(Don't mind in helping with the cooking.. wait.. that Sis Kathy's territory)
I'm hoping the only thing that will be left to do is to enjoy the garden and pond (and maybe pull a few errant weeds...) I can hardly wait for you all to get here. We will have so much FUN!
Weeds?? Pull weeds? They're just unloved plants Cookie..
oh.. my back.. my poor old back!!
LOL Cookie, I'll help supervise!!
Okay, Jaye, you spoke first so that's your job...
Whew.. that was easy!!
Yayyyy.... I get to play 'supervisor'!!!
Do you need an assistant Jaye? LOL
She is just adorable....I love kitties..
Good morning sistahs.
Nope, didn't go to church today. Nursing a bad back and something else too..
Maid M., you can certainly help with 'fanning' the supervisor!!!
Awww... see how fast babies get spoiled!! All babies!! LK, your dad's going to miss her.
Getting the pond prepped, today Cookie?
Wish your son "Happy Birthday" for us, Cookie. Is he the one living in Florida?
There goes another mama who won't let their kids grow up!!! "Little"?
Bet he stopped being little when he turned 10!!
Oh Jaye, sorry your hurting today! Make sure you stay off your feet.
No, this is one of the sons here. He's still not real big!
LK, I'm trying my darndest best but I have this pack of neckbones to cook!
So, I'll pull a barstool to the stove and cook sitting!
Cookie, did you bake a special cake for him? Bet it's chocolate!
Nope...I probably won't even get to see him....and he doesn't like chocolate cake (neither do I...except Texas sheetcake, sometimes) ^_^
What is Tx sheetcake?? Does it come with longhorns??
Jaye, what ever are we going to do with you? I am so sorry you are having back trouble--please be careful!!!!
Love Texas sheetcake!!!
LK I think maybe your Dad has a baby. Will he want to take the kitten with him? They sure do appear to be bonded at this time.
Hot, cloudy, muggy beyond belief here today.
Hi everyone.. quiet day around here for me..went to Wally World to return a crockpot that I bought, cause it was missing a piece. Silly thing has a steam release valve, but the rubber piece was missing..packed it back up and took it back..got the last one on the shelf and made them open it up so I could see that it had all the pieces LOL..
Then went out to Big Hollow Creek recreation area to take some pics..I love how everything is green again! Got lost on some back roads, but kept heading east cause I knew I'd hit the river sooner or later. Sure enough, I found Highway 99 and followed it back into town.
DD and family are down in St Louis watching the Cardinals play..her DH sent me a pic on the phone of Kailey in her little Cardinal shirt..all dressed up to watch the game :) I'll try to get that one downloaded to my computer, it's a cute one.
I, too, love Texas sheetcake! I have a recipe somewhere that a coworker gave me down in Oklahoma..said it was his grandmother's recipe..it was soooo good!
Well, Jaye, since you insist..I'll see what pics I can find to give you your daily baby dose :)

Cloudy dark day here so far with thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon.

LOL, that bad of a morning, Crissy?
Good morning!

Thank you all for coming to see my Italy photo's sure am glad to tell you all about it.
Twyla, sorry to hear of the big fight, sending hugs your way.
Well i gotta run for a bit, see you later.
LOL Marion!! One of the gals was reading a newspaper post, it started out, "I'm a hog, I'm a fat hog" and it kept going on. If you weren't looking at her, you wouldn't have known she was reading the paper, it seemed that she was talking about herself. Someone said, "Man, that's harsh to talk about yourself like that" then noticed she was reading the paper and we all laughed and said, "we thought you were talking about yourself there for a minute!" Ms. Cheerful gets this "feel sorry for her, I'm talking to a bunch of 2 year olds" voice and said, "That's mean of ya'll to think that she was talking about herself. ooooohhhhhhhhh." I almost threw up.
I think I would have! LOL
Just got an email from my daughter, the high school hort class is having a sale this afternoon to clear the greenhouses!! Guess where I am going? LOL
Morning Everyone!!!
Been busy this past weekend. Doug came up Friday morning. We did some yard work. Then we met my bowling team at Applebee's for dinner. Through out the bowling season if we didn't get our average each game it would cost a dollar. LOL I think I paid the most. Anyhow we put in over $200 and this went towards our dinner. We had a huge dinner with drinks, tizers and main entree I think we spent all of the money. It was a good time, then Doug and I went over to one of the couples house (Mike and Mary) for after dinner drinks. Played some darts, pool and drove little remote control cars. Saturday we worked out in the yard for 6 hours. Doug trimmed up some trees. really makes a big difference and looks so nice.
Jaye, I thought that I had lost all of my Brugs due to the snow then big freeze. Well as I started to pull old one out I noticed new growth. So far 5 of them survived. Still need to check the other 4. I am going to put them out front in the new garden where they will get early morning sun and be shaded thru the hottest part of the day. So hopefully I will see some blooms this summer. But something keeps eating the leaves. I've got bug pellets all around them.
Here's a pix of Doug "driving" one
Marion, buy one for me too please? LOL!
Hey Cindy, looks like he is having fun! Sounds like you have either grasshoppers or snails like I do. They are so hard to catch, and they do so much damage. Give the other ones time, they may come back also.
Bummer, the sale got postponed until tomorrow. I have an appointment to get my hair cut but it will have to give way for a plant sale. LOL
Chris, thank you.. thank you... post more of Kailey please!!
My days may start off wrong, but God sure knows babies can lift my spirits up!!
And if anyone has a recipe for Tx. sheetcake, please share!! I've never had any.. want to know what's in it!
Hello Twyla, LK, Crissy, Judy, Marion, Cindy!!
We're reading more of happy times for you and Doug, Cindy. We like that!!
Crissy, the only reason Ms. Cheerful chimed in was to get attention!!
I'd do the same Maid M. Forego my hair appointment for a plant sale!!
Thanks Sistah Judy. Slept most of the day, that's what the painkillers do for me.
Kel has been very good, making sure I'm eating and checking on me all the time!

Jaye, I have never had it either, but this recipe sure sounds good.
A delicious Texas sheet cake with chocolate frosting. Scroll down to see more chocolate cake recipes.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
.
Chocolate Frosting:
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
3 tablespoons buttermilk
2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
Preparation:
Cake
Grease a 15X10X1-inch or jelly roll pan or a 13X9X2-inch baking pan; set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a medium saucepan combine 1 cup butter, 1/3 cup cocoa, and 1 cup of water. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. With an electric hand-held mixer on medium speed, beat chocolate mixture into the dry mixture until thoroughly blended. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute (batter will be thin). Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in a 350° oven about 25 minutes for the 15X10-inch pan or 35 minutes for the 13X9-inch pan, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Pour warm chocolate frosting over the warm cake, spreading evenly. Place cake in pan on a wire rack; cool thoroughly before cutting.
Makes 24 servings.
Frosting:
In a medium saucepan combine 1/4 cup butter or margarine, 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, and 3 tablespoons buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; add 2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth. If desired, stir in 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans.
