That is cute! Glad to see they're back teaching phonics!
Kids say the darndest things
At the farm today, I went into my son's garden to pick a few tomatoes, since mine are not ripening.....there was a hole there & my 3 year old gson asked what made it....the 6 year old went into the house, got a field guide of CT reptiles & amphibians, found the photo of the snapping turtle, & showed all of us just what made the hole.....
Many years ago my son, Chris was about 3 years old (he is now 29 - WOW where did the years go?) made a remake that I wanted to disappear over.
We were in church one Sunday and he was his usual fighty self. It was a full time job trying to keep him occupied and quiet during the service.
The church was packed and very quiet as the Minister was closing the service with the corporate prayer and as always ended it by saying, "We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ."
All of a sudden the stillness was shattered by my son yelling out in a loud voice, "Don';t say Jesus Christ!"
Being a responsible parent I slid in the pew as far away from him as I could and gave him the same look as everyone else in the church.
It was every parent for themselves. You can just imagine the look I received from my wife. I didn't know he repeated every thing I said.

She was asking what I wanted
Yeah, 2 languages you might want to learn Chinese and Arabic
My friend posted this on fb
"My 5 year old [daughter]Autumn asked me today where me and Daddy had our first kiss so I told her than she responded with "What kind of sicko would tell me that".
Hahaha
Sicko!
we walked into Acme and they have the whole front all Christmas stuff already(whatever happened to Thanksgiving????)
My daughter real loud says "it's not Christmas yet, people!"
Heehee
Way to go!!!
My 2 granddaughters entertained me with a patriotic puppet show....Anni, the 5 year old, knew the Pledge of Allegiance perfectly.....she kept saying it while the 6 year old wrote it down...amazing phonetic spelling! Then they dragged their 3 year old brother into it...he was supposed to be the president, but all he could remember of his "speech" was "I".....laughed myself sick....
Love it!!!
Sometimes you forget your kids are all gown up until they post something like this to their FB page.
It makes you go "WHOA! "
Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Smart child.....must of had a smart Mom!
Nope, can't take credit, she's one of a kind!
Too long - quit halfway through! ^_^
I read the whole thing, but I have trouble reading long posts too!
ADD?
I work with a petite, highly energetic physical therapist. She is expecting, and has 2 sons, 5 and 7 years old.
When they told her kids they were going to have a baby, the 5 year old replied, completely straight faced, "lamest surprise ever"
And when she explained how making a baby is hard work, and that was why she would sit on the couch after dinner instead of doing things with the kids, her 7 year old said " I'm so glad you told me, I was afraid you were getting lazy"!
that is pretty funny debi - i thought they were going to comment on the hard work making a baby is at first :)
Yes, that's really funny!
Heehee. I had the same thought, wha. That really was funny, debi!
Cute!!
DDIL called me this morning speaking in a low voice because she didn't want to interrupt the moment. The 6 yr old was holding the 3week old on the couch while the 8yr old autistic son(I only mention that because he deals in facts and only the facts, ma'am) was holding one of his animal fact books up so baby Thomas could see the pages and he was reading to him and pointing to pictures. Rachel said Henry pointed to a cow and said that is a cow. That is where you would normally get your milk, but not yet. You get your milk from mommy. She wanted to take pictures, but thought she would ruin the moment, so she called me instead. they are enamored with their new brother. Just wait til he starts crawling. Hehehe
That's awesome Jan!!
Very heart-warming!
My DDIL was in tears watching them. This afternoon I had the two older boys for a bit and Henry was bringing over the book all about frogs and was showing pictures to me and explaining things. Very sweet!
Aww
cute
