Wha it was taken with the camera that we got in at Christmas in 2008 which is bulky, but has an Articulated screen which I really like. In fact I don't think I would buy another without that feature. It has a super Macro feature, which I always forget to use. It is a Canon power shot S51S. Patti
2010 Garden Photos - Part 3
This is an amazing site that I came across for photographs. If only I could. Enjoy Patti

I forgot to say to click on flowers in the top line to see lots more of the photos by
Brian Johnston in a section called A Flower Garden of Macroscopic Delights
Not to worry Marilyn They are tough little buggers.
thx patti - yes that is my camera too - just can't get the macro or super macro to work on demand - once in a while yes - driving me nuts!
nice Robin
Patti got that camera because I told her to. I had it but I've moved on to a DSLR. Can I help you Bill? I loved the macro but even more the supermacro. I'll hafta think back but it was a very consistent camera. What happens that you don't like?
Sposta get to 16 degrees tonight so I've actually thrown towels over the crocus, reticulata, and hellebores.
ok kathy - from what i read you press the macro button for 2/3 seconds and it is supposed to be in macro - i am usually in auto mode when i do this - think hard what did you do?
dslr is in my future
Wow - Svengali power offer Patti, Kathy! What else can you make her do?!! ^_^
I always shot on P. Press the Flower macro button on the left side of the lens under MF. If you hold it down for a second it's in macro; if you hold it down for a while it becomes super macro. You will see it on the screen. I then chose what the light was: Auto, Bright, Cloudy, Flash, Florescent, Incandescent to get the color truer.
can we beat him up if he is wrong???... looks like some nice plants
Victor, I often can make her visit but usually the flowers have the Svengali power over her, not me!
Victor, Kathy can make me drool on demand, bark a plaintive call of " I neeeeeeeed that one, too", and she can make me jump in my car and head off with her in any direction that she points to visit another secret or amazing nursery that she has stored in her brain.
I am in Boston doing my pottery thing for a couple of days. Happy to see that the hundreds of bulbs that DH and I planted at my BIL house last fall as a gift to them are all popping up. Cold outside, so I am happy to be playing in the clay rather than the dirt in Nantucket.
Bill, I will take a look at yours in person when I invade you this spring. Patti
Yes, frigid here last night too...all the rhodies had their leaves rolled tightly.....Jo, nice clems...what are the varieties? I noticed new leaves just popping on my silver moon...that's always early for me.
My clems are Daniel deronda

Wow! You guys have been very busy posting pics in the last few days. Took me awhile to catch up. I took pics either Tues. or Wed. evening, but haven't uploaded yet.
Victor, your hellebores are magnificent! I need to get myself some. I have hellebore envy! I just read today's article on alpine bellflowers. I need each one that was mentioned in that article, and I have visions of making a rock garden with all of them featured, as well as some other rock garden friends.
Allison, your backlit shot of the hellebore is great! You should post that in the backlit thread in the photo forums.
Nice stuff going on at your place, Kathy. Hey, how about pussy willow for a wind break? That's always nice to look at in the spring. Or maybe witch hazel. That's one of my new faves.
Bill, your ring of crocus around the redbud look great!
Celeste, you have a lot of pretty crocus.
JoAnn, I like the look of the ice on your fountain.
Great stuff going on at your place, Patti!
Tomorrow I go to the Boston Flower Show. Woohoo!!!!!!! I'll be taking lots and lots of pics.
Karen
didn't know there was a backlit forum
Yeah, it's pretty cool, too. Haven't posted anything there in a long time.
Karen
in the one called photos?
Here's the link to the backlit thread. No one has posted there since Nov. I think it's time to revive it.

Karen
that's why I couldn't find it
:)
nice JoAnn!!!
Waiting for some warmth before I take off the towels here.
Looking good, Jo...have fun at the flower show, Karen. Kathy, I didn't cover my bulbs, & they look OK...another ret. iris is starting to bloom.
Thanks everyone
The crocus are so unexpected and make me happy when I see them. Next on to daffs and tulips
nice one!!
I have a lull in the action right now, nothing new blooming
Daffodil would like to bloom, but rain is bashing it a bit.
Its dark yet but daffs are budded, might bloom today.
I have blooms on the forsythia, crocus, hellibores and the early daffs have yellow buds. If the rain finally ends and the sun ever returns things should really start popping.
love the babies!!!
nice joann
