I am actually surprised they didn't multiply after all these years.. just two .. always been two
2010 Garden Photos - Part 3
Crocus are spreading in a haphazard way. DH opinion is that the ants have been busy over the years. Rather where they are than in the iris beds where they remove soil from around the roots.
I've had a group for about 6yrs now, I find them slow to multiply also.

funny your springtime is up before mine... it was just a nub sticking out of the ground yesterday.. but yeah!!!!
I love the deep blue of Springtime!
BTW, all have a dusting of snow on them this mornig. :(
UGH
couldnt help myself.
oh no
It's still pretty w/ice. ^_^
hope it doesn't get damaged though
Its solid basalt rock with running water.I hope this is the last heavy freezing night we have.
Nice shots, all!
I like Stanley a lot. Hope the pump motor is protected, Jo.
have to be careful it doesn't burn out too.. right??
Yes, if it gets stuck.
Seems to be doing fine.
SIL will wait a few weeks to clean the reservoire. I have screen under the stones so the pine tree krap doesnt get into the reservoire.
It has taken 2 years to figur out a lower maintenance process than cleaning needles out of the small pump filter every 10 days. The tree is gone now but as we all know Krapp happens.
it does look cool with ice
When I saw the sun comming thru the ice I had to photo. Its 21 degrees out there. I dont see a cold night like that again in the longrange forcast
Love seeing all the Iris reticulata. I just did a article on them. I will print it when it is published in the local rag. I am a huge fan of them.
But now we are getting Tulips and Narcissus. No pictures today as it is pouring out at the moment. From yesterday.
Tulipa Early Harvest (orange) and Showwinner (red). Both are returning kaufmanniana ones and they did not bloom last last year or in previous years until April 4th, so we are still earlier this year for everything. Narcissus out early too. And we have never, ever, had so many bees working the garden. Good sign. Patti
Great bee shot!
Lovely blooms Patti, nice bright colors!!! Hearing about all the bee's is nice too. ^_^
love the orange Patti
great picture of the bee patti!
I have lit a fire in the livingroom. The poor plants.
another nice picture - i still can not get the macro to work on this camera - follow the directions to the letter too - is that picture taken with the camera you brought here?
If I didnt know the temp was in the hi 20's I would think it was a sunny warm day.
Not.
