2010 Garden Photos - Part 3
nice
Nice, Nice, Nice!!!
Congrats, Allison!
Beautiful photo's Victor, love that Cherry tree!
Yippee for Allison! Boy, sure am glad 'Pixie' was in N.J. today...it snowed here but not enough to stick.
Luckily they were not in Denver, more snow. My sister in law says that it has been a rotten winter, more so than usual.
Pretty! Love that crocus color!!
Harmony indeed!
Found a great tree guy today to clean up all the tons of broken branches. He thinks we need to plant some branches for a windbreak between the row of pines and spruces at the top of the property. I'm thinking Viburnum but I'm open to suggestions. Can't be too delicate since the pine branches do fall....
Spruce, Kathy.
We like our arrowood viburums which were growing on the property. Also like 'Flowering almond which might not be tough enough for your purposes.
Got spruce, need shorter in between ones to block the wind. Don't want yews cause there's tons here.
sorry to hear about your snow Celeste... Victor I hope you are saving some of those macro shots if we have the contest this year.. they are really good.. Boo.. hope my RI look like your clumps someday!!!.. do they multiply?
I would go with an evergreen. Most viburnums are not. Even ones that are do not have a very closed structure.
Yes they multiply!!
Short evergreens?? What should I look for?
very cool.. thanks
hemlock will work
Dwarf spruce or fir will give a solid block.
How about a golden evergreen to add color? No not yew, deer munchies.
Allison ,your helebore is great, hope mine does the same.
thanks JoAnn
This is the third year for mine. I didnt realize how big they were.
I bought the stinky one at fairweather last year... I couldn't help myself when I saw it blooming there
Nothing like a bloom to wear me down
Never would have guessed, Jo! ^_^
Yay! Allison. Now I get to look at yours, some of my crocuses and the reticulated iris are all done flowering.
Very nice, Allison & Booj! How about cedar, Booj? They stay small a long time, & are tough....but if you have apples, don't plant them, they carry cedar apple rust.
