219 genes make the difference 2

szarvas, Hungary

In the group of blue flowers that color distortion is the most beautiful effet.
That gives a more BLUE.
Looks like the " Blues " value each other.

Genes Bz - 1 .. 2 .. 4 are the genes that make the "blizzard" on the flowers.
There are at least 14 genes that are counted and the Japanese do not melt different categories .
In Japan Blizzard MG = Asagao Shibori - all in the same bag.

I distinguish roughly 3 categories:

1 - Hamaginga type.
2 - Type brushed.
3 - Blizzard (as we use to call some type of flower on DG)

Hamaginga purple

1 - type Hamaginga.
It is a cultivar group very popular with fans.
The head of the list is Blue Hamaginga whose original name was Hama No Ginga (Galaxy Beach) see photo.
These are the cultivars with streaks of color.
Trade names are: Matsukaze, Ukigumo, Tsukiyono, Keiryu, Sieryu, Raiko.

We can multiply the categories so the flower patterns are different.
Example dark streaks on the bottom clearer.

The striated pattern on those blooms is really stunning! Definitely makes some unusual looking blooms. I wonder how many genes cause the striation? I am growing an MG right now that came from a Mother vine that had a really unique blue striated pattern with white border on the rim of the blooms. I hope this F1 shows the same unique characteristics.

Amazing what MGs can produce!!! Just another reason I enjoy them so much!

Beautiful eye candy Dany.

3 - Blizzard :
In the trade names were Hama no Fubuki for the red and Keiryu (Mountain Stream) for blue.
Three companies produce Sazanami and have three different types of flowers. In 2009 Becky had a very nice strain.

The genes that start with SP ... are the genes that make the dotted give Speckled cultivars.
The best known is Fujishibori - Q 1218 - called Fai 55 by the Japanese (so romantic LOL)

Prepared for the competition, it remains an unforgettable memory.

There is also the clear version.

Thumbnail by dany12
