Greenshed Party

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Hope so !

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I have lots of pictures but must wait until tomorrow to post. I'm sitting down for the evening and will probably soon be asleep. It was a very good day. It was great to meet everyone. When I got back in the house my daughter had everything cleaned up. Love that kid.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

I'm sorry I didn't get to say good bye to your daughter. And I'm sorry I didn't have more time to get acquainted with her. Thank you so much for the hospitality. Lunch was great and your home is really beautiful.

Buckley, WA(Zone 7b)

Thank you for such a wonderful day. It was fun to meet new people(new to me anyway) - Kim, Summer, Willow, your daughter. Mike, the plant guy has a very interesting project that he is passionate about. It was fun seeing everybody else again, too. I am tired, and probably not making any sense. Thanks everyone for the cool plants and "art" objects from Summer.

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Just home, fed the man, and am ready to be out for the night. Thanks Willow for a wonderful chance to get together. Everyone is so much fun in this group, and getting a chance to finally meet you as well as Kymmco and Summer was such a treat. Absolutely wonderful day.... will add more tomorrow as my forehead is almost resting on the keyboard as I type. Thanks again everyone for making the day a wonderful treat!!!

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

This is me at Lisa's right now:

No, we must change the sheets, because Larry slept in your bed last night because of a cough.

I WILL CHANGE THE PILLOWCASE ANYWAY.

(Osita went CLUNK many hours ago.)

Willow, what an absolutely wonderful day. It was such a great time meeting new friends and getting back together with the others we have met before. Your home and gardens are absolutely beautiful. I also know how much you will enjoy your new greenshed!

We were pleasantly exhausted by the time we got back home as we also could not pass up the chance for a tour of Azorina's and Lynn's gardens. The car is still full of the goodies we brought back, even after vowing not to acquire any more plants. The offerings were so wonderful and impossible to resist. Thank you all whose babies we have adopted.

Julie and I took lots of pictures but all with her camera, so we must wait for her to get some posted.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Eagerly awaiting pictures, but imagine Julie could still be sleeping after such a full day.

(Linda)Gig Harbor, WA(Zone 8a)

Thank you Patricia for the wonderful day, great lunch and your warm hospitality. I'm sure your greenshed will bring hours of fun for you. It is always great to see everyone and meet new fellow gardeners. Thanks to all for the donations to Michael Ewens plant sale in his efforts to support widows in remote areas of Guatemala. We filled his truck!!

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

What everyone else said!

It was wonderful. I have a few photos. Others will have more and better. So while mine might not be very good, at least they are first! LOL

Pat's house is just wonderful. They designed and built it and it has so many interesting nooks, curves and arches - loads of character both inside and out. They are obviously clever, talented and artistic people.

Every inch of the garden is immaculate - no pot ghettos, weedy areas, etc. Let's just say that next month will be a contrast!

As I said, my photos aren't great. They don't even come close to doing Pat's garden justice! It's very hard for me to get good garden photos unless I'm going after one individual flower. I guess I need more practice!

Anyway, here are some of us in Pat's front courtyard. She has darling little brick (I LOVE brick) courtyards in several spots. This would be my morning coffee courtyard.

From left to right, Kymmco, Summer, Katie, Lynn, Linda, and Pat.

Here we are admiring the greenshed. It's just darling and every detail is perfect. When standing inside, you can smell the cedar. Yes, we all were suffering from greenshed envy after this!

I won't bother to identify as it's mostly everyone's rear and side views. As far as I'm concerned, those views don't need identifying!!!!

Remember I said how clever, talented, and artistic Pat and her husband are? There were framed windows for us to sign - how adorable is that?!?!? Really a special touch.

Here's Summer - the only one who managed to get a leaky paint pen!

Suzybell signing the second window. There were two, on adjoining sides of the greenshed.

I have a month to find something for you all to sign when you come here!

Look at this cute little gnome with his own door! There was another gnome sitting on top of the rock. I thought he was in the photo, too - at least that was the plan - but there was glare on my camera screen and I couldn't see that well. (At least that's my excuse!) A darling little vignette.

Along the side of the house with the greenshed, there's an upper pond connected to a lower pond by this little stream. I have the perfect area for this but a project like this is just so far beyond what dh and I would be able to accomplish. Greenshed AND recirculating pond envy...

Each little nook and cranny is charming...

You know those areas along the side of the house where most people stash all their junk...

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

And those areas along the street that we don't usually bother with.....

Most of the house is set off with the brick, and you can see the brick wall in this photo that encloses the front courtyard that's in the very first photo I posted.

Last but not least, another courtyard in the back. There are gorgeous camelias in full bloom - this photo doesn't even begin to do them justice. This courtyard faces the golf course - just a lovely setting. This is where I'd enjoy my evening glass(es) of wine...

Great pictures Gwen. You made it all look good. ^_^ And thank you all for your kind remarks. I had a great time and am so glad we did this get together.
My daughter was my photographer so I have no responsibility for these photos.

Sleeping? Gads no! No rest for the wicked... we are having a delayed Easter celebration with my brother's family, so had to get house chores done before coming to Mom's to stuff and hide eggs.

Great pictures guys!

I was disapointed to see that a lot of mine were taken when we were going over plants, so there were lots of hind end shots that I figure people would prefer that I didn't share!

Here are some of the better ones:

Michael, Patricia, and Linda

I was having trouble post pictures. Now I'm watching the Masters Golf Tournament so I will do it later.

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

Taking a break from planting all my new plants! Can't remember who I got it from (Lynn? Kym?) but how tall with that Henderson's Mallow get? I looked it up and found both a regular size one (tall I think) and also a groundcover one, so am unsure which I have.

What a dandy day for planting all our new stuff, eh, ladies?

Carnation, WA(Zone 7b)

Looks like a great gathering, lots of beautiful photos of gardens and friends. Wish I could have made the trip. Thanks for sharing with those of us that couldn't attend.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

YOU ARE ALL FORBIDDEN FROM EVER POSTING ANOTHER PICTURE OF ME.
I'M CUTE IN PERSON, DANGIT!
Death to digital cameras.

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

Nobody likes photos of themselves!!! I have learned to not even look at myself in a photo!

At least we can all thank Julie for not posting our hinies!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

You are cute summer. And we are all not that wide either. That's what I hate.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Don't know what I'm looking at either. I think Con took to many picture of old mom.

Don't know why I can't post pictures.#$%^$$

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Actually, I think I agree with Summer about not posting any more pictures of her. I look even fatter standing next to her (on top of the extra pounds the camera adds)....

Willow, Thank you again for a lovely afternoon-the weather was even pretty good.
