WOW! Thats terrible!
Coffee Break #35 - Spring is upon us!!
Oh, boy. I have a friend that lives near there. She's on a hill. I hope it's high enough.
me too... one of my stops floods all the time... and not far from that A&P... hope they took the right measures to protect the stuff they have in the shop & office
Good ideas, Thom.
Wow - some flooding.
That kind of damage is so bad, it can be devastating, the property loss is only the beginning, personal loss just goes on and on. I helped my parents after Agnes '74 and helped my old neighborhood in local flooding in 76 or 77. I'm now king of the hill, and have no plans to leave it. If I'm going to get wet, I'll consult Cubits for dimensions, pun intended, but no laughs, only prayers for those affected. Ric
yeah... looks great!!!
I have a question for Sherrie.. if you start seeds in the greenhouse.. do you still use a dome on the flats?
Yes I use the domes as it speeds up the germination. You do have to check now and again for the heat in the domes as too hot can cook them. If its going to be too hot inside the dome, dont seal it tight put it off a bit from side to side and leave a gap.
ok thank you!!!!
GH is a lot of reason and common sense. I have 5 or 6 flats going - I will pull off the domes to check. Sometimes there is a lot of consendation on the domes and I pour it off back into the seeds. If I am not going back into the GH for 3 or 4 hours mid-day, I crack the domes, especially if they have sprouted.
After they have sprouted and you start to transplant and you find your breaking the root pulling them out, water them down and they will pull out much easier.
This is your 2nd year with the GH - have fun :-)
Now I will run my mouth. Speaking of GH, I talked to Jim 2 nights ago. I dont know if I am going to start the GH this year.
I applied for the garden dept. at Lowes. If I start the GH and get the job at Lowes the GH is iffy as there wont be anyone home to check on it during the day (open door, turn on fans and water - etc). Second the place that we go by the side of the road is now posted NO TRESPASSING. As I understand the cops did not like the traffic slamming on their brakes to stop and pull over. So now if I do the plants again this year - where am I going to go on the side of the road?
I dont know which way to go with the GH.
Looks great, Harp! Congrats!
Happy St. Pat's!
Erin go braghless!
Happy St. Patty's day!
We have a good friend who is Irish, his name is Kevin and his Birthday is today. The best part is he has blue eyes and extremely RED hair too........a true Irishmen!!
It's also my cat Romeo's B-day too, he's 8.
N I C E, Harper!!!
Did they give you any indication of when you would hear about the job, Sherrie?
Count on you, Victor, to spice up St. Patty's Day. Did corned beef and cabbage last week.
no- I filed 37 days ago online. A friend filed a week and a half ago at unemployment and got an interview last friday. I cant refile for 23 more days as they keep the app. 60. The store is Opening on April 29th. Husband said maybe the garden dept will be the last as the freezing weather will be gone. So I am in a stupid pickle.

Hope for the best, Sherrie! Harper, those leaves are very well drawn,,,good luck in your class. We didn't get our census form yet, only a stupid letter telling us we would get one soon....what a waste! What we did get is a letter from the IRS telling us we owe another 2,000 for 2008...this is why I took over our fiscal affairs----DH cannot remember some things, especially if it concerns taxes!
Hey Thom - has your eye problem made you cut down on your ghost hunting??
schickenlady do you have a farmer's market nearby where you can sell your plants (I'm assuming that's what your doing).
It's crazy the $$ wasted.
that is one of the risks of technology.
has anyone noticed the drop or stop of activity on cubits? happy to see dg running smoothly
Amazing! Went to Ford to have some reprogramming redone on my 98 and that particular dealer told me he didn't have anyone old enough to know how? As the gunslinger said the world has moved on! Ric
There are a number of folks we know are active on cubits, for me DG is plenty to keep up with, and as long as I'm happy here, I'll probably use cubits very little, especially with the weather breaking. Ric
too bad you are so far away ric - my brother is a ford mechanic and i'm sure he could help you out.
My Explorer is so old you can use an analog meter to read the some of the codes. Try and explain that to a 19 year old service tech who thinks Simpson only produces digitals that are inferior to Fluke. Ric
I rarely go on cubits as DG has been fine. Last time I checked it was really slowed down. Barely more forums and posts from the previous visit. I knew that would happen.
I like Simpson and Fluke! Used both a lot.
Cubits is slower, have the feeling that it is there if needed, however. I am on the 'online bookclub' which is active.
look at em go!!!

Yeah, Victor I use my Fluke when there is a questionable problem, it's a lot safer, such as power readings. I use my Simpson for finer work, such as reading a deep well pump for motor failure, or a burned wire. The ohms tell it all. Ric
Yay 3 more states go go for me!
Our family had some good news! Seems the man that ran over my nephew has been ordered to stay in jail and finish his term. I was so happy for my BIL and SIL no amount of time served will bring back their son but at least some justice for them. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20100318_Inmate_s_mistaken...
An ohmmeter will catch a short, but a megger is best for testing insulation breakdown. I had a 500 volt one from Simpson. Also had the beast - a 15,000 volt one. Still have it - have thought about using it on the deer. ^_^
that good news ronnie
Victor, all things paranormal-wise (for our group atleast) is on hold until May/June, then July, August and September. Most, not all, but most of the properties that are investigated are not heated...so it's a "no go" during the chilly parts of the year. We have a few upcoming that I'm really excited about...Moundsville State Penn in W Va for one, there are a few more state penns that we will be visiting/investigating also; and a few old Forts...yes that was with an "o" not an "a."
lol
good thing you mentioned the o was intentional or i'm sure he would ask about ghosts and their gas problems:)
Poor ghosts must freeze!
big pile!!
