Coffee Break #35 - Spring is upon us!!
It was very big!!
That IS big! Your marshmallow stick must have been REALLY long!!!
Today Brian gets one of his childhood dreams.......and unless you were raised in the country this would not be what you would dream of.
We rent one every time we turn around to do a big job, plus we have to pay someone to bush-hop our field every falll. NOT ANY MORE!!!
He bought one w/a bucket, rotatiller, and a few other attachments. ^_^

i need brian to come here and dig out three large boulders near the pond - not now late this summer after the water table drops down - excited to get these boulders up into the yard! - i'll buy the pizza!
Bill he's laughting like crazy right now.....we have one problem, no trailer big enough to transport right now. lol
you know my answer - drive it down:) wonder what toll booth's will charge? i'l cover that too!
If he leaves now at 20mph he might be there by June!! lol
Wow! Cool toy, Brian! Be sure to take Sophie along for the rides!
(Remember not to park it close to the burn pile. ^_^)
Now he's thinking how to build a "Bunny Box" on the side..........thanks Victor!!
Sorry your family had to go through that, Ronnie. Pixie, loved the burn----not able to do that here, have to haul it down to the brush dump, which is not open til 1st Sat. in April---meanwhile I have to use the truck, can't drive it full of brush!
Census forms are fun only when you find your grandfather, great grandfather, and find that your grandfather lived in LA in 1910. Who knew??? I never heard he went to California. What do you suppose the old devil was doing there? Nor did I know my grandmothers name was Minnie, and my great grandfather was part of the household on the census form in California. Not to mention who the heck was aunt Minerva?? She showed up on a 1920 census in New York--how did they all get back here?? Grand dad had kids I never even heard of! And my father was a Junior!! He never told me that! I don't think he liked it. Just assume seventy years from now someone is pulling up your census form to try and figure out who you was!!!-------------Weedy
Another great day. Got a decent amount done but had some adventures. I was trying to right the arch arbor which had fallen last fall. It's the one over my bench which has the New Dawn roses on it, as well as The President clematis. I got it temporarily up and went around to push it into the ground. As I did, it fell down - onto my head. I now know what a crown of thorns feels like. Not fun. I had to push it off me while getting completely scratched up. Incredible.
Anyway, it's up now.

ouch... that's not good
Tell me about it!
Geez Victor, invest in a helmet and some armour.....your starting to sound like Brian. ^_^
Better - have my wife do it. ^_^
Glad you got some family history, Weedy...Victor, roses are pains! Every time I prune, I donate blood.
is there a you tube clip of that victor?
No, but it's on an s & m site.
heehee! (not at your pain Victor)
I had a few rose thorn pricks today, one through a glove. We skied for a couple hours this morning, then spent the rest of the day outside. Nice.
Weedy, Always neat to find out about family history, we had an old photos thread awhile ago that turned into a family history thread of sorts.

Victor-Ouch!!!!
I must get to pruning my two or three rose bushes myself and I always end up bleeding. One is an old polyanthus (is that how you spell it??) and the other John Cabot, I guess and I , keep layering them until they are a tangled mess, worse are the multifloras that have come up from seed in areas near the woods, and I want to clear things out a bit. I think I may just cut one rose down and grub it out. Keep Morden Blush and plant a clematis close to it????? A blue-purple one maybe--what are the easy group? I've never grown any but old Betty and she's turning into a weed-I think she may be in the group I can't remember-----------------------------Weedy
DG still is running a bit weird......... Lots of times I get red X by a picture and I submitted two pictures to PF on March 12, they are still pending. Anyone else notice this?
i haven't noticed celeste - although i've outside a lot lately (watching for brian:)
I get red X's by photos - but that's on other sites. ^_^
Yesteday the sites kept freezing up & I had to restart the computer.
Oh, What a lovely surprise!!
lucy that happened to me in the morning jusy after nine. glad to hear someone else had the problem, maybe it is not our computers!
Since I am 'technically challenged' I can only guess. At least I have been told about restarting after freezes. We are also 'restarted' as to heat. Had to replace the transformer, but not the motor in the furnace--expect I will not be so bundled up in the house & we will now have hot water.
Just took a walk around the neighborhood 2 point something miles. Township is cleaning all the branches and trees that fell from the storm, all of them pines. The end of our road is still closed.
The furnace is working. Needed a new transformer, but much better than the motor. It's nice to be warm again. On thursday we had opened some windows to use outside to heat inside. DH had been collecting some of the logs from a tree taken down last yr. to dry out. Funny what appeals to you driving around. seeing down wood in foresty areas, not think of the loss of trees, but 'oh look, logs'.
Wisconsin had a tough time for awhile, but won the game against a small college.
lucy glad you both have the heat on again and the damage was not too bad!
yes good to hear!!
Thank you. good to be able to do a load of dishes as well with hot water. We had finished using forks so I had started using the salad forks.
Yes - good news, Lucy.
