Had soup for lunch!
Sorry I could not take advantage of this gorgeous day.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 65
Hey people, vaporizer at night if you have one? It won't cure a cold, but will let you breathe. A bit stiff from the small amount of raking yesterday, so played pick-up sticks in the front yard instead. DH uncovered a species crocus near the house & rake leaves off the daffs along our stone wall bordering the road.
The fever came w/the sore throat and double ear infection.....I can never just get a regular cold!!
Ouch! I hate to do this, but if you can face it, a gargle might help the throat. Clearing up the ear infection does as well but I hope that doc is on it. ☺
Doc gave me an antibiotic, felt much better by the 3rd day of taking it. Very, very tired though, all I want to do is sleep....was tested for Mono but it was neg. thank goodness!
Good! and sleep is healing.
Yes, I hope so, I want to be out raking the next time we have nice weather like this. ^_^
Oh, sorry to hear Pixie & Victor--hugs coming your way! Today was a gift---55 & sunny....walked about 40 min., but did no yard work----now that the snow has melted, I can see that the plow took off the entire water bar by our property---huge hunks of asphalt everywhere! Will try to move some of it tomorrow.
Victor and Celeste - take care not to over-do until those colds/infections are gone completely. It's so tempting now to get out there and do too much. Hope you both are way better soon!
Sherrie - I like the sound of doors and windows open in NH!!! I'll be getting homesick for the hills soon now!
Bill - snow again????? How cruel that would be!
Warming up here after tomorrow. I'm still happy with the cool nights/warm afternoons...my kind of weather.
40 now ... going to 52
42 and sunny. Upper 50's!
going to be another nice day - spent all day in the yard raking and made good progress - should be able to finish the front today and then its on to the backyard. did something to my left forearm out there it is really hurting- raking it not helping it at all.
hope you are feeling better celeste and victor!
Thanks, Bill. Slowly but surely getting there. I'll sit out in the sun today.
I hope you guys are feeling better and as Victor says get out in the sun a little bit. Did a little more cutting back yesterday and put some fallen branches and mum cuttings over the emerging tulips. Hope to discourage Bambi from nibbling them down to the nubs. We are getting to the most dangerous season for the deer to come calling now. It is very tempting to clean out the beds entirely but I am resisting as it will be several more weeks to be sure that the extra cover to the soil is not needed. Nice to see life in a lot of the stems on shrubs.
Today looks like another lovely day although probably that last near 60 for at least the rest of this week. Not really cold temps returning either, so not at all bad for early March. Temp already at 50 degrees with very light NW wind. Brilliant sunshine should push the temp to nudging 60 for a high today.
46° at the moment. Last day of higher than normal temps evidetly so will see what to do. Hope to get daff areas uncovered--deer don't bother them. Iris beds will still be under pine needles. Hope Victor & Pixie are improving.
Thank you Bill, Pat and Lucy...everyday is better. ^_^
High of 50 again today.....3 days in a row!
46 and sunny. Can't work in the garden here, too much snow on the garden still.
55*F, sunny, no wind, WOO-HO! You can even be out for brief periods in shorts and no shirt. Holly got some of the full exposure beds cleaned yesterday but the shade beds are still under snow. Ric
60°, windchill 53°, wind WNW 10mph, sunny
Filled ½ bag full of leftover autumn leaves today, then decided to take it easy, relax, no rush, no worries, (don't want to 'over do it') lol!
great day today with almost all the snow gone - finished raking and trimming the front yard and have only the back yard left - most likely two days for the "yard" portion and another day for the back portion closer to the wet lands. then it will be time to begin edging the beds, then order 20 yards of dirt and start the one wheel barrel at a time death march.
have no idea what i did to my left forearm - it is swollen and sore as hell - raking does not really hurt it to bad - trimming for some reason causes the pain - wish i knew how it happened - i will try wrapping it tomorrow - strange pain might have chipped a bone.
Had to do errands so wasted the day. Shame. back in the 40s tomorrow although that is the normal condition.
Maybe tennis elbow, Bill?
no forearm about 4" above the wrist towards the inside of the arm - will have to heal on its own i have stuff that needs to get done.
That's a strange area. If it was closer to the elbow, it could be a different tendonitis - sometimes called golfer's elbow.
Hairline fracture maybe
Blood clot? Have Cindy check it! It was 60 for a brief time this afternoon....spent an hour outside, picking up huge chunks of asphalt out of the gardens, & raking up some pine cones & branches....a lot more to be done!
Sunny and into the 40's here today, but an awfully cold wind. A seal hauled himself onto the town dock at work and laid in the sun all afternoon. Supposed to be cooler tomorrow, but still sunny.
DH went skiing, I walked the dogs and worked all day on cleaning up photo files. Nice day outside in Vt. Big melting going on, so the dogs are filthy. It must have been nearly 50. More of the same tomorrow. Now it is still in the high 30's.
Wha, sorry about your pain. Not a good thing for this time of year. Do the ice then heat therapy. And if that fails, stay inside an order my plants online to make you feel better. Patti
Yes... I saw that movie '2012' last night, erie...
Snowed in Barcelona in the movie?!!
Actually, Barcelona was submerged after the earthquakes and the change of polarity... (lol)
Oh, that's all. (Change of polarity of the men??)
No, we already have sporadic incidents of that...
~Wisconsin became the South pole. ☺
Actually, the poles have flipped many times over the ages.
Maybe we're due. (lol!)
Probably some guy on the subway holding a sign predicting it!
I used to see the same guy all the time. He would give a specific date for the end of the world. After a while, I would see him again - with a new date!
I can't stand indecisiveness...
