Supposed to be a nice weekend - a taste of spring! With daylight savings only a week away and spring only two, it's starting to feel good!
My viburnum bud.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 65
Nice, Victor! Enjoy your "almost Spring" weekend! Sorry to hear about your Uncle......your family has really been hit hard! Also sorry to hear about your friend. Lots of sad news!
Patii - sorry to hear about your friend's death. A true loss in many ways! How about a memorial plant for him in your garden that he enjoyed so much?
It was sooooooo cold at the Sox game last night. I was very under-dressed until Hank suggested I change clothes. I ended up with long pants, socks, turtleneck, sweater and my heavy winter jacket and mittens.........still cold because of the wind. It was still fun. Sorry you had to miss the game. It would probably be more enjoyable in a couple weeks.
Low 40s last night but a nice sunny day - good for working on the back patio area. Cold again tonight......love the good sleeping weather!
Thanks, Louise. Wow, the cold is hanging on down there! Glad you enjoyed the game anyway.
1st over 50 day .. will be time to hack the butterfly bushes .. woo hoo!!!
30 now going to 48!!!
I was thinking the same thing Sherrie... love that first warm day for that.. Randy has a pile of yucky firewood ..we load up the stove once it's cranked up to get rid of it... and air out the house
well... almost... seeds first.. LOL
Good morning everyone! A nice sunny day starting here. Light variable wind and 36 degrees at present. High is expected to be in the low 50s for the next few days. Yeah!!!! Hope to get a little clean up done out back. Just a lovely blip in the run up to spring but we all deserve it, yes? Get out there and enjoy. Have a lovely day all!
Nice sunny morning here with little wind. It is supposed to get to the low 40's! Anxious to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.
40 and sunny. Looks nice!
How nice to have a hellebore...the snow is just receding off mine! And 40 in Maine this early in March is welcome----we'll be heading to Maine for a few days next week. Sunny here, will be in the upper 40s to near 50! I'm going to take my iced latte & sit in the sun! Sorry about the cold, Louise....my friend from the Villages called yesterday---they've been frosty every night!
Today is the first day this season I generated over 30 kWh with my solar!!
54° today. Got one very small bed raked. Winter certainly was tough on my energy. A couple of peony noses are above ground next to the house.
So what exactly does that mean Victor?
It means we're getting closer to nice weather! Longer, sunny days. To give an idea, the highest the system ever outs out (around Memorial Day) is 40 kWh in a day.
Ahhhh, ok.
was out all today today raking and trimming - same for the next few days - i do expect snow again:)
wish I could see ground to rake... 36 now going to 54
Yesterday was gorgeous. I started my spring cleanup. Basically removing spent flower branches and picking up the yard. The temps on my thermometers were in the 60's though I don't know how accurate they are. The motorcycle folks were out and that's almost a sign like the first robins. Top 3 inches of soil is frost free so it shouldn't be too much longer. Temps forcasted in the 40's for the most part. I won't start raking beds until the end of March though. Peace
Cut back all the shastas yesterday and a few others out back. Took off the top layer of leaves and debris from the south facing beds too. Lots of twigs and small branches all about. So nice to be outside even for a short time again. Won't rake off all the leaves until end march here too but the wind will have moved a lot of them a little at a time by then with no stems to hold them there any longer. Still below freezing at night so need an insulation layer to keep from having a lot of frost heaves. Today will continue some cutting back of dried stems. Noticed the forsythia is getting some color in the stems so I will snip a few for forcing today I think. There is a bit of green out there which is nice to see.
Present temp is 30 degrees, wind calm and sun coming up for a repeat of a great day.
temp in high 30s, but supposed to get in the 50s for the 2nd day. Then back to 'normal' which may be 40s instead of 30s during the day.
50 and sunny. Great day. Wish I could get started by this cold is miserable. Coughed all night.
hope you feel better Victor
Thanks. Feels like my lungs are about to come out! Ouch.
hate that
:(

44 and sunny. We're going from snow season to mud season!
No fever here. Maybe you have a sinus (bacterial) infection, Celeste.
Hope you guys are feeling better soon.
Gorgeous day, got down to the shore for the St Pat's parade
