Countdown to spring! One Photo per Day Part 12
K
joann - there are three echi's out there and only two tags:) it is not twighlight or sundowner - i did a search and think it is double decker:) here is a link to it - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/68854/
Only 12 more days! Starting to feel like it.
How about we continue this thread past that day and continue until everyone has something blooming??
By the way, the 2010 pernnial of the year is Baptisia australis.
I am laughing so hard, cuz I have been trying for over 2 minutes to go to the link phoebes put up just above and couldn't get there. I'll try something else, but it just cracked me up. I thought there is a thread to vent, but you can't get there from here.
Wow, a lot to catch up on---thanks, JoAnn, for the offer of the anenome...I'll be up sometime this summer! Everyone has posted some really beautiful plants.....you've all given me some great ideas.
Oh no! I works for me, but that is exactly what people seem to be saying--there are still some glitches, and sometimes pages load slow--slower--slowest, faster on occasion, or not at all. the glitches seem to be random. According to Admin, Dave and IB are still working on straightening everything out.
very pretty Jen
Yes - very nice.
pretty.. looks like a nice relaxing spot JoAnn
I am loving how things are turning out.
that's always good!
Dont you like certain views of your gardens?
Pretty and they smell? What a bonus!!
Alison those 2 clem colors are outstanding together!!
Ge how old is Henri? Thats a nice clump!!
Pretty! Whats the Hosta's name on the far right?
'June.'
Thanks Victor.
I planter more lilies there this last fall and will add to it this spring.
Cant wait for june and july.
Its official, my mood has changed and I get thrills everytime I go to the garden parts that have no snow. Tulips are coming up in the Tree Peony garden.
Just little yellow shark teeth
Cool! I already planted it in the spring of 08 I think. It was very small when i got it so it hasn't "WOWED" me yet. Yours just did. :)
I've been looking at a few others that seem to stand out, 'Rainbows End' and 'Atlantis', Bold Ribbons' , 'Calypso', Cracker Crums, Dancing in the Rain, to name a few. lol
It stands up rather well to full sun - as it is there. I also have it in part shade and it has less gold, but looks great.
Victor, that picture always blows me away. I may download it onto my computer for an instant pick me up. I wish I could plant great named hosta by our stream, but the dang deer destroy them. I do have some patches of old common ones that look OK after the deer move on in June for the summer and eat other things until early Sept when they come back and eat them again.
I keep trying to figure out a way to fence that area in, but a fence would destroy the natural wooded nature of the area. Plus the expense would be ridiculous. I will just enjoy your pictures. Patti
Thanks, Patti. I know that frustrating feeling. My deer eat so many other things. They just haven't gotten to that yet.
Here is my picture for today taken on April 9, 2008 on the west side of the house in partial shade. It contains Iris reticulata Cantab (blue) & Iris reticulata Pauline (purple) and Crocus Jeanne D' Arc (white) & Crocus Pickwick (purple) & Helleborus x hybridus. Can't wait to see them again in person. Patti
Edited...
OOPS caption is wrong on Photo....there are no Iris reticulata Purple Gem in that photo That purple on is Iris r. Pauline. Ge1836 taught me how to label my photos, but she hasn't fixed my brain yet. Patti

Nice Patti.
Thanks Patti. We can enjoy them now when something besides last fall's leaves & dead grass is needed. Lucy
IrisMa, you got that too? Lots of dead grass and leaves in my yard too along with winter debris that needs raking up. Hope DH gets that done while I am away. Patti
We have cleared the beds right next to the house except for the leaves tangled in the candytuft which is rather ragged. DH has cleared leaves from in front of the stone wall along the road where daffodils lurk. Can just see some noses there. After all we are NE of boston & they will be in bloom by the end of March or beginning of April.
have a third of the back yard done this morning - went and got an ace bandage to wrap the arm - still real sore and pretty swollen right now - i'll catch hell and no tlc from my wife tonight - off to tackle some more leaves.
That's all right. If you posted more than one, we won't tell Victor.
Actually, it's notable when Jo does NOT post more than one. ^_^
Early morning fog in the brain
