I raked the south garden & the herb garden, as well as part of the shade garden....Asiatic lily noses & hyacinths up in the south g., thyme & oregano in herb, & bleeding heart in the shade. Can't remember if this is early or not, but it seems early.

South Hamilton, MA

Daffodil 'Decoy' the farthese along of any of them. It must like being under a pile of leaves. raked them off this afternoon. could work a little longer but not huge gobs of time.

Warners, NY

Sunny and mild today so I trudged out the path to the garden, the snow has melted in places,I wanted to both survey the winter devastation and try to plan what to do. Even after thirty Springs here I'm still overwhelmed at how bad it looks when the snow melts, plastered down maple leaves, rabbit gnawed Hydrangeas, totally eaten Hollies, deer tracks, big ones twenty feet from the house, this ones going to be hard to discourage, can't yet tell if daylily seedlings I finally planted out in November are still alive. I see little spots of green so they may have made it. But snow drops are blooming and a couple of yellow crocus. Looking at the ravages of winter, it's hard to remember that every year, within a couple of months, it's a green jungle out there. Tried to prune old rose and already the garden has drawn blood, DW says I need Ov-gloves to prune that bush, although the rabbits seem to eat it with no problems.------------------------Weedy

Digging out from under the leaves and debris, I have sedum, yarrow, sib iris and daylilies starting

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Sarahskeeper, congrats. I love that cool color. I have Crocus Cream Beauty, but not a Crocus Cream Delight, though they look very similar. But mine haven't bloomed yet.

IrisMa, My N. Decoy will not bloom until early May, or at least that it what it has done since 2006. My first Narcissus bloom around April first, though I do get Narcissus Early Sensation reliable by the last week in March each year. I had Narcissus Gipsy Queen out on March 27th last year, but it was a new one for me, so I will have to see if it is really always super early one. It was followed by Narcissus Small Talk . I love that little one. Both from Brent and Becky and reported to be early. I need early. Tired of Brown! Except UPS people who bring me plants. Patti

Congrats, Andy! The yellows seem to be the early ones. Only ten more days! And only three days to daylight savings!

South Hamilton, MA

Oh yes, ours have a long way to go. I was surprised at them (will be 2nd yr) as our batch along the stone wall are so much further behind & they will get the heat bounce off the wall. they are a mix which came by the bushel.

Catching up on a couple days worth of pics. Lovely stuff all over the place. Cloudy and grey here today and rain for the weekend so these do certainly help keep my mood up and positive for the future. Lots of milestones this coming week. Turning the clocks, St. Pat's day, sure signs that spring is just about here.
Some sunny shasta daisies and heliopsis.

Victor, I love the Clem. I plan to order some more this year (couldn't find that one on Garden Crossings). If you could only have five clems, which ones would you keep?

Definitely Betty Corning, Ramona and Duchess of Edinburgh. I have them for a while and they are proven winners for me. Crystal Fountain seems to be joining that group too.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

What day is it?

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Victor thanks. So far you're consistent :). In addition to those, Bill said you also recommended The President and Abundance.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hey! soj this was supposed to be a test of his consistency! :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, those are good too. I'm very impressed with Abundance. It's aptly named!
