Looks like an easy six inches building here Lynnie, lets trade houses for a week or month.lol
Gypsies new ride
you can have the "murphy bed" (my mattress propped behind the loveseat in the den during bedroom renovation)
I saw that coming your way this morning on TV, Flowers.
Just give me the dog bed as long as it comes with sunshine lol
Kitty is dead.
oh no Venice! are you sure??
I took her to the Vet to be cremated.
Awwww I'm so sorry Venice! What happened?
Venice I am so sorry.
So sorry Venice. What happened?
From what they said at the vet office, she had some type of trama because her eyes were red but they didn't see anything obvious. A contractor found her and he called maintenace. Maintenace called my vet from the number on her tag. He said that she was just right next door laying on the patio! She had been missing for close to 2 weeks. So I don't know if someone found her on the street and put her there thinking that was my apartment or what. She was pretty well frozen and stiff. So sad to see her. Her fur was still soft and nice looking. Poor, poor Kitty.
Well, it may have just been her time Venice. My heart hurts for you. I know what it feels like to lose a beloved pet. Try to find peace in knowing you were the one that got to lay her to rest. Hugs Karen
Hi Venice,
I read back in the thread that you asked if Tori and Cheeto are from the same mother.
I'm not really sure. They are 8 months apart in age and the girl who had them lived on a farm. She started bottle feeding them when they were young. I never asked her why. Not sure if one could have been the runt of the litter that she would do it or what.
They very well could be from the same mother. Both being tabbies and with their coloring.
So sorry about kitty.
Remember, when you feel like you are ready to have a new cat around, check out craigslist and see what they have listed in pets.
I actually put an ad on craigslist saying that I was "looking for a cat to give a good home to". And I put in that I was looking for one that was declawed and altered.
Erin responded to my ad with Tori and Cheeto. She was looking for a good home for them as her future husband is alergic to them. She didn't want to give them up. It was very hard for her.
We keep in contact through e-mails from time to time. I keep her updated on how they are doing and I send her pictures of the girls, so she knows they have adjusted well.
She said she is VERY happy that she found people who care so much about the cats ^_^
Hell, we spoil them rotten!
So so very sorry to hear about Kitty, Venice. Ditto what Flowers said, you gave here a good home for many years.
aaw Venice I'm sorry!
Kassy, if I am not mistaken, this is the second photo of Tori and Cheeto with Cheeto curling up next to Tori. Is that how they always lay?
Kassy, so sweet. Sleeping together face to face.
good morning everybody!
Good morning Lynnie!
well at least the DEET says it's ok to be on your skin for a little while (although I don't believe it lol) I think the Raid says AVOID contact with skin, doesn't it? And you shouldn't inhale Raid either, so I wouldn't use it with windows shut during the winter.
well that's weird my response is above your post...........how'd that happen??
Hi everyone! I guess you all are busy today. Hope you are doing ok.
I have been on the computer trying to find ways to cut down my bills. I cut back to 23 channels and saved $24 on Comcast.
I called ATT and see what their packages were. They were $60 less for the same thing. I would have a Direct TV dish. After they took all of my info, I found out that if you move or decided to change to something else, the dish company would charge you $400!!!!! I would not have known that if I had not asked so many questions.
Do you remember that huge bromliad I had? It had a baby that is now 3 inches tall. Well, it is having another baby! It is barely 1/16 tall but I can see down into it. It looks like 4 leaves will be coming up.
My pretty hibiscus has been dropping a lot of leaves. Also, all of my elephant plants are loosing many leaves. I know like they say: too much light or not enough light, too much water or not enough water.
I suppose it could be from all the gnat spray I have been using. I saw one flying around yesterday. So I looked in my closet to see what I could spray on them when they come around me. I didn't want to spray Raid so close to me. So I got out my can of spray starch! I thought that might gump them up at least. After that I didn't see any all day.
When I went to Walgreen's I bought some Deep Woods Off with 25% Deet, can be sprayed it on your skin, which I thought would be better than spray starch. I have killed or drowned 4 gnats this morning. I keep the can beside me on my desk and when I walk around my plants, I put the can in my sweat pants pocket so it is handy. I contacted OFF to see if I could use it on the soil of my plants but haven't heard anything yet.
My orangish Kalanchoe ($1) is the only blooming plant I have. I have enjoyed it because it has been blooming for a long time. The yellow and red ones that I got 3 in a pot for $1 much later, are just starting to bloom.
Well, have to get busy attacking my clutter! Later!
Venice, those plants are so pretty and healthy looking! It looks like Spring over there!
Don't go too crazy with that DEET, I found some guidelines for it's use.
How should DEET repellents be used to prevent insect bites?
Read and follow the instructions on the label and avoid excessive use and over-application.
The more DEET a product contains, the longer the repellant can protect against mosquito bites. However, concentrations higher than 50 percent do not increase the length of protection. For most situations, 10 percent to 25 percent DEET is adequate.
To make sure you will not react to the repellent, apply the product to a small area of skin on your arm or leg before general use.
Use just enough repellent to cover exposed skin and/or clothing.
After returning indoors, wash treated skin with soap and water. Wash treated clothing before wearing again.
Do not spray directly on face; spray the repellent onto hands and then apply to face. Avoid sensitive areas like the eyes, mouth and nasal membranes.
Do not apply over cuts, wounds or irritated skin.
Do not use under clothing.
Avoid spraying on plastics (such as watch crystals and eyeglasses frames), rayon, spandex, other synthetic fabrics, leather and painted or varnished surfaces because DEET can damage those surfaces.
Do not spray DEET-containing products in enclosed areas.
DEET products will usually repel mosquitoes for several hours, so it is not necessary to reapply the repellent more frequently than that.
DEET products will NOT repel stinging insects such as wasps and bees.
I was typing a post and went to look at my flowers. And of course when I went back to my post, it was gone! I will try again.
The orange Kalanchoe has been blooming like that for about 2 months! It sure is nice to have at least one flowering plant.
Thanks Lynnie for the info. The directions were so small on the can that I went to the website and read the directions there. I have only used 3-4 very quick sprays so I don't think that is a problem. I could have used the Raid. Would that be better?
good morning! sun's up! wake up sleepyheads!
Good morning! The sun's not out here yet, but should be! Forecast is nice today.
I'm up had frosted mini wheats, done two loads of laundry, working on second tax return, and sun is shining bright, forecast says almost 50.
Good morning gypsies. Eyes are dry for the moment....lol The sun is shining and the dear Aussie family is home safe. Jan said Aidan woke up as they were approaching the Hawai'ian islands, looked out into the dark and said "Well, Mom, I guess we aren't in America anymore.....I miss Grandma" and went back to sleep.....what a kid! He is such an old little soul.
Venice, sounds more like Kitty was trying to make it back to you than anything else. So sorry she is gone. Here are daffodillies for Kitty.
it's 53 and sunny...went to a book sale fundraiser scored lots of books and went for a bike ride. Heading outside again.
anybody know how to get a 48 inch shower enclosure through a 36 inch doorway? Just wondering
Moon, you were such a great Grandma to Aidan when they were here. I am sure he will miss you as much as you miss him. I forget, how old is he?
I was hoping you would show us a photo of him chasing Tooter. I am trying to figure it out. How can he chase a turtle? That must have been so cute.
Thank you for the daffodills for Kitty.
You are most welcome.
Aidan is 4 years old Venice. Box Turtles can move rather quickly when they want to, but it was a slow chase....Tooter was moving through the leaves and pinestraw in the garden and we kept losing sight of him. Unfortunately, I did not have the camera with me, or we would have a dozen pictures of that too....grin
He looks like a big help.
But is that a white shirt, he's playing in the dirt in?
If Aiden had a bubble over his head it would read: Gardening is a tough job!!!!
he's doing s good job! :)
Moon, really, consider writing a book. You have a wonderful way of describing things, things that Aiden has done with you.
morning all! wake up everybody! sun's up! coffee's on! chop chop!
chop! chop! yerself. Lynnie! Nice pictures Moon. I'm glad everyone has so many wonderful memories to take with them.
