I quit in Jan of 1989

JJ, was it hard for you to quit? I had smoked over 25 years! One pack a day, then later on nearly 2 packs a day!

The first couple of weeks were the hardest.
I used bleach water and washed anything and everything when I wanted a smoke.
The bleach on your hands made it so you didn't want them close to face so helped with the smoking and not substituting food. Also some big boned loud mouth at work had been trying to quit and boasted her DR told her it was impossible to quit and not gain weight.
So of course I had to prove her wrong. quit and lost 5 pounds at same time.

JJ, you did winter sowing, right? Did you have to dig in the snow to put your containers outside?

Lynnie I'm not so sure the DR actually told her that,think that was her excuse for not quitting while going to WW. and yea there is a little stubborn streak in there.
No Venice just set them outside on the patio next to porch on top of the snow that was there and since then they have been buried.

JJ, you probably aren't still here. Although the women figure skating in on now! The really good ones.

What type of soil did you use for your WS? Just regular potting soil? On one they were talking about Pro-Mix PGX, which I have never heard of. Have you?
I still have 2 bags of garden soil in my trunk that someone gave me who said it was potting soil. Can I make a mix with that? For the big pots later?

The S. Korean skater Kim Yu-Na was just amazing!!! So lovely, elegant, every little movement, facial expressions, all jumps, and so perfect with the music. I hope some of you got to see her skate. Peggy Fleming said that was the best performance she had ever seen and it was by far the highest score ever given!

I saw the last group of skaters too, Venice. She deserved the medal, she was wonderful.

Venice I don't know about the soil. I just use MG potting soil.

I can't, running all day. I think I might have just one more cup of coffee.

I don't know how those women can do the slalom skiing. No flags on the poles and all the blue marks on the snow are gone!

Tonight Apolo skates the 500m and the 5000m relay which is fun to watch.

Apolo won another 500m. I guess he has one more to skate before he gets Gold.

Good morning! I saw that too. We had a sleepover last night. DS & his girl rent an upper apartment. Apparently skunks were burrowing in the lower apt somewhere, somehow, I don't know. Animal Control is catching them and taking them out. He said it stinks to high heaven in there, they had to leave. So he came here (she went to her mom's).

I've seen a few dead skunks on the roads lately, I think the weather is confusing them. Oh and it started snowing again yesterday, it's a winter wonderland out there today!:)

I'm so confused!!! Smiley what is your dear husband doing with a girl in upper apartment to start with? lol. They need to be sprayed if it is what it looks like. Hope everyone has a good Saturday and gets much needed rest. Snow is gone here, but wind is kicking.

Got all my painting things out , threw on the painting clothes and DH decided needed another coat of mud.
Should of gone shopping, now he has taken over the TV with Nascar.

Did I just hear right? Hilo Bay had a 5 1/2' tsunami? DAVE lives in Hilo, HI, you know the one that always gave us info on plants, especially the tropical ones. I think he said that where he lives is on higher ground. Hope he is ok!

I wrote a Dmail to Dave. He said the tsunami was 6' there but things are under control. I was glad to hear he was ok.

Good on you Venice, Gonna have to change my name on other forem, don't think he likes it because I'm there. But Glad he's ok. On my weather channel it said nothing had happened that they were expecting and everything was ok. Chile on the otherhand has reported a little over 200 dead and shock waves are still hitting with earthquake porportion.

Flowers I'm sure thats not true. Think it is just different and more talk and fun than information on flowers.

Me too Lynnie, pulled a muscle carrying buckets of kerosene. Gotta get another heat source by next winter for sure. Bet your room is looking good, Do you have the floor in yet?
