Mary, I think daffodils will grow anywhere! Just remember to divide them every few years, or they'll quit blooming, or have much smaller blooms. Usually you'll get a huge clump of daffys that don't bloom!

Morning everyone...

It was indeed a fun day, ended it by going to Greg and Melanie's for din/din then Kyle came to hook up the Wii fit plus, oh oh, it not only told me happy birthday but it said I was overweight AND had the unfit body of a 75 yr. old..when I was played at Melanie's at Christmas hers said I a fit 62 so not sure I'm going to like mine..lol.. all played t.v. bingo but nobody won!!!

Everyone has been great in making me rest/relax so was quite surprised when I got gift certificates for Home Depot..wouldn't you know I already this morning measured for a closet door in the basement so I can pick one up this weekend...

Did received $$$$ and Fabricland gift certificate, Canadian Tire Certificate so I'm all set...of course the Wii I received as an early birthday gift from Bernie and Charlene...

I especially appreciated all your birthday posts..did make me feel special...

Could I have stayed in bed this morning, yep..sure could have..snow is melting, roads are clear but this is the 3rd of March and we're bound to get a few more blizzards for sure..

Hope Suzanne is well enough to make it to work this morning, she's been quite ill with the flu..

I'd better get a move on..promised myself if I got the Wii fit plus I'd do 1/2 hr. in the a.m. and 1/2 hr. in the p.m. so don't want to go astray on my first day...

Barb, your afghan is gorgeous..love the black/white variegated wool...will you be keeping it for yourself? You must have done crochet each and every night..lol... to get it done this quickly...I'm hoping to have the one I'm working on done by weekend.. mom told me she's tired of doing crochet, she's done 4 since we started in Dec. and said she's a bag full of wool..I said I'd take it but would put it away till fall when gardens are done and get to it then..

LindaKay, oh/oh, your warning came late...I played with balance games, novice type and thought to myself "NOT" very high energy exercising so went on to walking following an icon..1st run said I burnt 50% of calories, 2nd one, more difficult to get through said I burnt 102% of caleries, congratulated me...well on my way to work I thought omg, pain, not bad just achy ..so guess until Dr. says nothing to worry about I'll stick with balance and light fitness programs....

In all honesty I've NOT been doing anything..sewing and crochet which don't take much energy and I've not had any pain so my thoughts were did what I have go away and was just a passing thing or was it because I was doing nothing that it wasn't bothering me so yep..won't do that again until I'm cleared...

Had a call on my recorder yesterday wishing me happy birthday and said if it wasn't too late when I got home to call, knowing Darlene and Mike are early to bed I didn't call...this morning we gabbed..guess who is getting a slate-sunken under zinc for her washroom..yep me/me/me..
They are going to Toronto to order kitchen and 3 washroom ones for their home, said they wanted to get me mine, I'm to pick from their granite chips that she'll leave when she's at the house today...aren't I lucky!

Betty, please explain slate-sunken under zinc? Not for sure what that is?

Happy Birthday Betty! I am soooooo sorry I missed it yesterday....but all "Heck" has broke loose.

Paul has had an eye problem, and yesterday it got much MUCH worse.

Went to specialist this morning, he has a 15mm tear in the retina with a 10% detachement. Wasn't an "easy fix" in his office....so is having surgery Friday morning.

I swear Betty, between him and the girls....I need a road trip. I came home and just had a melt down up in the shower.

And Betty....love ya dearly....but just don't know if I am willing to do that Arch! ROFL......I will climb Elvis's wall anytime you want though!

OMG detached retina is dangerous..bet you both were terrified..shouldn't he be staying quiet until Friday? Lordy, how on earth do you continue to meet each day with a smile (know you are smilling-just the type of person you are)? You need a road trip..Debbie I've holidays coming...did you ever get your enhanced license done to cross the border..Paul could drive you to the border and I could pick you up, come spend 3 or 4 days with me...now my DIL Melanie is going to a hockey game in Buffalo tonight, she says they are not enforcing the mandatory passport for cross border passing...I'll have to see if that's the case then it will simply be pack a bag and we're off..I could spoil you..never had a daughter to spoil....if your younger son wanted to come I'm sure the boys could entertain him....

Yes girls it's a slate countertop and the sink (zinc) is under the cut oval hole in the slate so there is no edging to get dirty..I'm truly excited..

The girls are painting at the house, said Diane stopped in and left a gift, flowers were delivered..me thinks someone thought today was my birthday...had a tear in my eye..my dad always called March 3rd and said 'happy birthday little girl' and I'd say 'Dad, my birthday was yesterday!' and he'd say 'next year I'll remember' but he never did...

I'm pulling a Judy and having a birthday month...Suzanne is in today (shouldn't be though) gave me a card with $50.00 to treat myself to something...Paul was in and said Thursday he'd take us all out for Chinese for my birthday sooooo it's a happy time for me being spoilt...

Glad your birthday was a great one Betty! I've been hitting the Wii Fit now too, now that I have some workouts it's pretty good, but I need to train myself to do it every day. It's difficult because when I get home from work I don't want to work, lol I want to eat dinner, play a computer game or two, and watch my shows that start at 7pm. Oh well.

Debbie LOL!! Oh how I know about those breakdowns in the shower, it's actually the perfect place to have one! And after you have a crying fit you feel so much better for some reason. Wonder if men do this when we're not around. hhhmmmmmm

Debbie, I had a detached retina....had to go the UW Hospital in Seattle and the specialist there did the In Office procedure....I think I would rather have surgery....I don't like being wide awake and told to hold very very still while they are doing things to my eye. But all is well now considering that I came within a hair of losing sight in that eye all together. It was a difficult situation as we have no medical coverage of any kind.

Have spent most of the afternoon going through a ton of online crochet patterns....it would take years to do all the neat patterns I have found!!

I surfed the web yesterday too, omg got a worm and had no computer all afternoon..am hoping something can be done today to repair what I've done...not good! Not sure what I'll do without a computer to play on..Jeff had me unload spybot which I did..Cindy had to put it on a stick and then load it into my computer, by now it was 4:45 and they left..wasn't sure what to do with it so left it open..Paul is in this morning maybe he can lead me through..can't access my work files..sure hope it doesn't have to go to the Dr.'s...

I too would like to know what causes a detached retina? I'd rather lose the use of my legs and arms than my sight! How terrifying for you both..let's hope tomorrow Paul's procedure goes well...

The girls that paint all brought me pressies..so I've had 2 birthday days...lovely plants, dishtowels with embroidered apples..too pretty to use,gardening tools and $50.00 to go to Garden Gallery..boy they know how to spoil....

Usually I leave for work about 7:45am but there was a postal card saying a parcel is waiting for me..they open at 8:00am so think I'll pick it up on my way to work.. it's either a fat quarter or a spring swap parcel..excited as can be..imagine 3 days in a row I get to open pressies...

Wii is waiting for me...I'm hoping this work and I start losing weight again..at a plateau for the past few months..not gaining but not losing..disheartening....I've 10-15 lbs. to go so better get at it...

Detached Retina can be cause by a blow to the head but often, and in my case, it Just Happens for no particular reason....

Yawning like crazy, got another bag ready to sew for the weekend, stopped at Fabricland and got a few things...bought some scissors just incase I'm in a swap, why? because they are different..on the handle part an oval comes out so you can put your name or photo so not to get confused with someone else's when sewing in a group..bought me one and a few for swaps...

Paul took us out for my birthday, nice Italian restaurant..talk about great food and just a block away from work..know if I eat there a few days a week all the weight I took off will soon be back one..

Boy I am wiped out!! I was conned at work today to make a chocolate cake from scratch for my boss's birthday party tomorrow because someone has icing she needs to use or it's going to go bad. So I started putting the ingredients together, then Dave decided he needed a small cake too! So I got done with that one, cleaned the bowl out and started all over again. When I was right in the middle of it the big cake was done so I was scurrying around while Dave was messing around with a can of Tuna right in front of the sink and cutting board area and in the way. I asked him to move, he snapped, "Why?????" We got through that ordeal and now he's happily sitting eating a bowl of chocolate cake and milk. I've eaten so much cake dough I think I'm going to pop, and here I'm trying to lose weight LOL!!

I'm going to head for bed! See ya'll tomorrow!

Audrey, Janice's daughter-in-law Stacey..she hasn't been around of late, did join in on the Christmas project though..lovely lady, came and spent a few days with me and although we found some time for sightseeing we managed to do a lot of crafting...she's about as nuts with crafting as I am..that's saying a lot right? lol

I'm so excited for her..got to find out the due date!
