Morning, got the white stuff in my neighborhood as well Barb..sooooon be over, promise..
Oh Mary, sometime being anxious is such a waste of time of $$$..normal season perhaps you could have planted but everything is so screwed up this year...feel sorry for you...
Barb, because I've been so antsy to get outside I've decided to really make a push and get everything I want done inside so that when finally the nice weather comes I'll be living with Mother Nature..
Can you believe I got up at 5am - did 4 of those quilt blocks, left the house early, bought more wool for another afghan - why not, passes the day here..easy to pick up/put down and besides can always use another gift...boy, I must be anxious for spring..bought the boldest of colors, of course I've a bag full of leftover yarn from the other projects so imagine I have enough to do another...
Crissy had written a long post yesterday afternoon, guess it went pufff...Jeff is trying to reprogram a program we're using..if someone calls in about their file, because we're online with the other office it dials up google and there goes my DG .. just wanted you to know I'm feeling for you..you best find something that truly calms you down and do it..once calm maybe you and Dave can have a talk and find some common ground...
Waving to all others...
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit with friends...
Thanks Everyone!!! All the hugs and all are so appreciated! I guess we have to go backwards to go forwards, right?
He was in a good mood last night, cooked an awesome dinner as usual. He never asked about his debit card, guess he doesn't care. I can't stand that attitude. I was going to come on last night but I started playing a game and got stuck LOL!! Took a nice long hot shower, then sat down and watched Mobsters on the Biography channel, got stuck on one they based the movie Goodfellas on, I love that movie! Anyway I didn't go to bed til 11, so here I am at work all tired, and Ms. Cheerful is flipping out because someone is out with what they thing is a stomach virus. Good grief these women drive me nuts sometimes LOL!!
Always get a kick on your 'Miss cheerful'
Miss Roger's cooking..he sure could cook! You are a lucky girl to have a hubby who enjoys doing so..
Watching 'Girlfriends Past' on that movie channel here on computer..what a way to pass a day!
Hi Betty and Everyone!!
OMG, Betty, i sure enjoyed your day Sunday! So cool you decided to spend it out on the snow.
Love the photo with you and Noah? Kyle? heading back.
Saw you finished the mat and sent it of to swap buddie, just know She will love it!
Crissy, sorry about all the frustration your going through. Sending you giant armwraps((((((((((CRISSY)))))))))).
Congratulations to the Ice Canadian Ice Dancers!! Wow, they were spectacular to watch, I even re-wound it a couple of times to see them a gain!
Awe, Sharon's puppies are adorable too. In case i forgot to say congratulation on The best of show too.
Oh Crissy, So glad you got to visit with a DG friend! I did too this past weekend! Went to Flamingo Kims house out in Zion.
LOL...What a ride, not only once but twice! 1 hour ride turned into 3 hours. The first time, I first had t get on this highway road, yikes! But LOL, just talked myself through, prayed everyone would be cool! merged on just fine and didn't start shaking until i realized I WAS driving on the highway, lol...Finally calmed down and the rest of the ride was a breeze. Well got to Gurnee, where Great America is, (Cracker barrel) and dencided to check my cell phone. Pull it out, open it and it was off! I was baffled because i had already used it in the morning. So turn it on and discovered it was Steve's!! So searched my pockets, found mine too...began calling the house phone...Finally got ahold Julia, told her i had dad's phone tell him to answer land line. Right away he is saying how he was searching for his phone, I knew he would be. Told him how I had it. Well he was going out in the evening too so kids would be home, he HAD to have his phone, so I had to turn around and come back! OKay....So i came all the way back, and set out again. Well when I was back to where I turned around, realized I was only 15 minutes from Kims. Geesh.
Once I got there there, Met Susan-Turtle Chi. I was a bit nervous because, well I knew Kim but not Susan...hehehe, that didn't last long at all! We had a wonderful time. i felt right at home, and we laughed and just had a great time. They are both very easy to get along with...Then when i got home, lots of catching up to do. I received my Downey quilt kit and Now I am working on that! It's really cute and a very easy pattern!
Well, i know i missed some, but I am really, really backed up!
But, AnnMarie, So glad to see you! Your little one is so cute...
OMG, Waiving Hello GG!! So nice to see you pop in. I hope you and family are doing well, I think of you often too.
Well, i'e got to do some laundry and fix up this house a bit.
Hope you have a great day. Betty, glad you are enjoying that little movie site, hope it a good movie.
Waiving Hello Mary!!!
Judy, so glad to hear you had a great time, even though you had to drive the trip twice!
You do have trouble Judy with cel phones...yikes can just hear Steve...glad you enjoyed your day with DG friends..sure wish some lived nearby!
Yes, like going to a movie theatre and spending the day..you watch 3 or 4 movies and homeward bound...so quiet here in the office with almost everyone away..crochet mile a minute, you should see me go when I'm right in the most interesting part of the movie..lol...
Wish I had known about the downey quilt program .. only found out a few days ago..how's our Liz Judy?
Grey sky but it's not snowing and it's only -1..shortly off for lunch, not sure why, I've already eaten it..got to find something exciting to do..who knows, might run down to the Quilt and Knit place, could almost walk there or Garden Gallery..
Oooh Judy, did you eat at CrackerBarrel..you know the last few times I've been I've come out purchasing NOTHING except watch bracelets...can't understand why? you know me and CrackerBarrel..
Betty, you can still get your fabric for them, I just signed up a few days ago, and am waiting on my fabric.
Ooooo Craaacckkeerr Baaarrreeelllll YUM!!
Judy I am so glad you all had a great time!! I bet Kim is just a hoot, I would love to meet her!
afternoon all,
yep been missing in action for months with all the drama with my family and granny
well today I'm am proud as can be!!!!!
the evil side has the audacity to oppose my mom be sole conservator over my Granny's health, finances ect.
there was a court appointed investigator who went into a depth of questions between my mom and her brother,
at that time my so called cousin went as far as to accuse us of never paying rent to fabricating how much granny spent on the roof, and the best part was that my granny spent 7.000 on copper pipes lol well if that was the case we would have the water pressure of a fire hydrant ,
my evil aunt who only See's money behind it went as far as saying my mom depends on my grandmothers money and that my mom is a alcoholic.
omg each and everyone of them sent a letter to the court stating how this would be a mistake! well those unsophisticated morons rehearsed their statements so well, it is clearly staged.......
now for the tada lol
today was the court appointment for my granny, thank god she didn't have to attend,
well here they come into court my uncle and only my 1 cousin and my aunt roflol she has the Gaul to walk in with sunglasses hello its raining outside heee heee and she never took them off omg!
well the judge called my mom and the two attorneys to the table and said i have read the petitions from the Alex family and it is so dysfunctional I'm not going to talk about that so i am awarding you sole conservator ship.
but the best part was to see the three of them at the same time turn their heads to each other like Linda Blair did in the exorcist as to say WHAT?
so prayers do work I'm so proud of my mom for being so strong and protecting my granny from these gold diggers.
happy days!!!!!
Betty puppies are beauties loved the snow fun you had and all of your projects
Crissy sending you a big hug
anjl welcome back
and was that Jeannine i saw big hellos too
Judy well what can i say glad you had a wonderful time

bev think of you often hope Scotty is doing better pinch powder for me
lk how are you doing, hows your dad?
barb, how is norm doing, and did you get to do the crochet granny square like Betty did yet i want to do a lap size its just figuring out the dimensions in a smaller scale.
Mary how are you doing, hope all is well with you.
some one was asking about Laura i emailed her but i haven't heard as of yet
well its cocktail hour time to celebrate
everyone else hello
.
Liz I HAVE AN EVIL AUNT TOO!!!! I know exactly what you're going through, I went through that when my grandfather passed away and my grandmother had Alzheimer's. My mom's half sister sued the executor (my mom) for granny's health care, which escalated to my grandmother moving in with my evil aunt, which escalated to CA Law says that anyone can have all of their belongings with them no matter where their living, so my aunt cleaned me out. She even got the cars! All because my mom's attorney wanted to bargain and my mom didn't know how to say flat out NO!! GOOD JOB!!!!! We even had to pay ALL of the court costs. My evil aunt tried to get the court to make me pay rent when I inherited the house, the house was in my name!! I told her I had no problem paying rent to myself.
Waving to all...
Aching from top to bottom from moving furniture all over yesterday. Should have known better....but it is Advil, a blanket and the Olympics for today.
I was sooo happy for the Canada Ice Dance Team.....Bill and I were holding our breath on the scores because we knew the minute they finished that their dance was bar far the best one.....so beautiful! (Even if DH does refer to it as "Girl Juggling). It was stunning.
There you all go taking my snow again.....our rain has returned....slosh slosh....
Hey Liz, so glad to hear all went well! HE does answer prayers when he is ready too.
We must all have that evil person in the family!
Well, it is supper time, home made veggie soup, with some biscuits!
Congratulations Liz. That's wonderful news.
My afghan is coming out pretty well. I'm about half way there. The only way I know of to make it smaller would be eliminate some colors or to use a finer yarn such as sport weight with a smaller hook. You don't often find the brighter colors in that weight though.
Here's to all Evil Aunts!

Morning,
Wake up to good news, how can the rest of the day go wrong!
Liz, how wonderful..know you've all been on pins and needles for months now..congratulations to your mom..yes, prayers do get answered...how's granny doing?
As for the afghan Liz, did I send you the pattern design sheet, if not I will, you can keep same design, same wool, same hook but when you get it simply from the centre count out how many blocks you want outward - 4" per block - with a pen square off and there's your size...if you give me the dimensions I'll do it for you as I know how I explained it is confusing and I'll send it ...
Crissy, you've quite the sense of humour..here's to the evil Aunts..may they get what nasty they give out twofold...
Barb, you are going full speed ahead...1/2 done..that's when I seem to get quicker - anticipation of seeing it done..I've been working on another all day yesterday..managed to do 75 - 2 row blocks that I'll edge in black..thought if I did them all then the last row with black it might go quicker..now that tells you just how busy I was at work...think if I have any wool left it's in the garbage..keep buying wool, doing afghan, having some left, buying bits more and on and on and on...this is my 6th since Dec. - enough for now...
Trisha you overdo..what rooms did you re-arrange..bet they are lovely..funny how same furniture and same decorative items, re-arranged can give you a sense of getting new items...
Linda Kay, how's you dad? what's keeping you motivated while waiting for spring?
Noah's birthday today, going out for supper with the crew.. have to pick up text messaging cards for him as a gift..not sure what else he'd like and know he loves his phone..
Well, off for breakfast, feet up, watch a program or 2 and then start my day...
Amazing, last night I was just dozing off, got a few calls, thought omg, I'll have to tell my DG friends..this morning it has escaped me..let's hope as the day progresses I'll remember
Gab with you all later
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!!
Hi all! I'm in much better spirits today, Dave told me last night that he just gets grumpy in the winter and of course I get to hear it and live it because I'm closest to him. I think it's ridiculous and childish to act like that because you don't like something that's inevitably going to happen whether you like it or not, but whatever.
I'm in such a good mood today! Finally!!!
I'm happy for you Crissy... Hope it continues for you.
Well, today it will... LOL!!
And it's not even Friday!!!!!
So you are wearing your Happy Face Crissy...wonderful!
Betty, you make sure to give Noah, big hugs from all of us, and tell him Happy Birthday!
Enjoy your computer movie site.
Yes! Dave's in a much better mood, someone else who was nagging about everything yesterday isn't here today, guess the bad mood got the best of that one! Oooo that wasn't nice!
Good Morning!
Happy Birthday Noah!
Criisy, So glad your in Happy Mood, doing a little happy dance with you.
Omg, forgot what I wanted to say, lol...
Betty, Too funny about these cell phone, but sigh, your right. LOL, We use to have different phones, but DH finally turned his new one on, We have the same phone, so I just pocketed his out of habit, I guess. We have decided we should somehow tag them.
...Nice that you can watch movies, I bet it's a nice time passer, plus you can crochet at the same time...Neat.
I see Liz Posted!! Woohoo, Waiving Hello. Whew, I am so glad things went in favor of your mom!! Prayers answered for sure.
Trisha, hope the aches and pains are gone...Ah, but now you can enjoy the "new" furniture...I was thinking about you and your squirrel friend...LOL they are mighty acrobats and fun to watch too...too cute. Got a cute pic yesterday, will post it in a bit.
Yesterday I got sidetracked, Decided to clean my room. Whew, it needed it too...Then in the evening worked on my downey quilt.
Betty, I think you can still make them, if you want. Thanks, Linda Kaye for posting the Link.
So here is the top, I love it...very easy to assemble.
Well aren't you creative Judy....you've done a marvellous job..bet you are excited..are you going to quilt or tie it?
Judy/Judy, is the hockey material fleece by any chance? Please say yes, please say you know where there is more...I need some for Noah's hockey rag quilt..bought some yardage, need more, and yours would be perfect!
Trisha, here is our lil Squirrel.
Thought he was so cute sitting in the window of the tree house next door.
I think he was eating a nut or something.
Well, Nice thing about having DH home...He has been making us Breakfast!
And it's time...Eggs, toast banana.
Enjoy the morning,
I'll be back a little later to see how your day is going!
OK just remembered a few things I wanted to share..
Darlene called me last night to say her new cupboards were put in yesterday not without much 'ado'
The company came and no sooner arrived that they had to call 911..young employee - 3 days in their employ was having a heart attack..rushed him into Midland..20 years old..imagine that!
Then Cathy dropped in, she was excited as can be, caught a 14 lb. fish, ice fishing is done on Monday so this has made her fishing season tops..couldn't have wound her up any more than she was...
Mom called, she was at Rama Casino on Sunday for a few hours and won just a few $$$ shy of $2,000. - hope she remembers it's my birthday Tuesday..lol
Jeff called earlier to chat..kept chatting, know how he hates phones, I kept saying, 'well thanks for calling Jeff' I must have said it 2 or 3 times finally he got peaved, said 'mom, I'm calling you to chat, I want to talk to you, I'll tell you when I'm finished gabbing so stop trying to get me off the telephone unless you don't want to talk to me!' lol so there..guess I got told!!! aren't kids grand...
Know someone else called but who?
Judy he's adorable...will have to capture mine little black squirrel, I feed him so he's not far away at any given time...you know, I posted how to do that squirrel feeder and never did mine..best I go look for instructions..Stacey when she came to visit last year brought me the gallon jug..maybe I should put it on this weekend's 'to do list'..
Dianne just called, she'll be coming over to do the Pockets A Plenty bag with me this weekend, needed to know what materials to use...I'll be picking up my and her fusible fleece..omg just called Fabricland, it's $15.00 a yard and you need 1 3/4 yard..won't be a cheap bag for sure..I'll make the 1st one as they describe it but after that I'll improvise..I'll check out lining and see if it would be cheaper to purchase a can of adhesive to use?
Betty, hard to bleive a 20 year old had a heart attack, is he doing OK now? Saying prayers for him!
Glad to hear Cathy had a great time catching that big fish, I bet she was very excited.
And tell your Mom congrats on the winnings! Soun ds like she had a great time!
Dad and I sit in the house most of the day if it is cold. He loves to watch TV, and especially the game shows like price is right in the morning, and wheel of fortune at night. But if it is nice outside, he loves to take his motorised scooter, and watch the birds and squirrels he feeds!
We are just waiting for the temps to stay above freezing so we can get some flowers and maybe some veggies planted.
Betty I can't imagine needing a yard and a half of fusible fleece for one bag. How big are these bags? Just sounds like too much to me. Are they as big as tote bags?
Snow is up to over a foot now. Our plow man came through and cleared the driveway about 5 AM but the town has plowed us in three times since then. We have about three feet of heavy wet snow there now. Our man will be back when this stops but I'm sure glad we don't need to go out. Trying to clear that is like asking for a heart attack!!!. Let alone throwing your back out!!! Nope, we don't need a thing that can't wait!!!!
I'm crocheting today, Betty. Just a bit over half done with the afghan. I'll try to take pictures a bit later.
Off for some hot cocoa while we still have power. Talk later~~~~~~
14LBS!!! Woo Hoo!!!!! Good for her!!
LOL about Jeff, my phone hung up on Dave yesterday, he never calls and when he does he asks one thing then practically hangs up on me. Yesterday he kept talking and talking and talking and I told him and told him and told him that my battery was going dead and the more I told him the faster he talked, then my phone died! Oops!!
Crissy, sounds like your dh has what my dr. told me I had. Depression caused from the short days and not enough sunlight. It can affect you in many ways, including being grumpy and snappy! He'll start to get better, now that the days are getting longer!
there are special lights you can buy to help with that condition..full spectrum I think it is...had a friend with that problem, and she bought a few light bulbs , put them in rooms she is in most...said they worked quite well
Be sure and tell Noah we all send Birthday Wishes.
Oh yes, it is amazing how moving a few things around can completely change a room. Bill is loving the new Sofa, it is long enough for him to stretch out.
So sad about the young man having the heart attack. That is awfully young!
But speaking of such...Joanne Rochette (sp) did such an amazing job in the Ice Skating Venue last night. What strength of character. I cannot imagine how difficult it had to be for her to go out and skate like that so soon after her mothers death. And she did a beautiful program....I was in tears by the end.
Judy, love the squirrel ! (and the snow....shhhh, don't want DH to hear that snow part)
We did a have beautiful sunshine a bit ago...now the clouds are coming back and the rain will be starting again soon.
Thought I would bore you with a few of my crochet projects...I just finished a Dishtowel, don't have it blocked yet but I love the pattern.
trish, that is so pretty, love the sqaures in the afghan!
TY.....just did basic granny squares until they were the size I wanted then crocheted them all together. I also did this same pattern and color to fit my bed.
Had sun earlier, but it has just started to rain again....(I miss our Smileys) :(
Talk about creative Trisha..lordy I thought the photo you said was an afghan was a table cloth, pretty enough to be..are the dishtowels done with cotton just like the dishcloths? love the dishcloth holders..amazing what can be mde.....you have been keeping busy..laughing, can see your hubby stretched out and totally relaxed...here I thought you were just re-arranging not buying new furniture...
Those sunshine 'mood' lights sound interesting..is the lack of sunshine causing depression called 'sad'?
Crissy, bet Dave wasn't thrilled when your phone went dead..
WAS going shopping for a new iron, one with many steamjets used for quilting..had my $$$ set aside but NOPE no iron for me today..
I had a flat the other morning, thank goodness I had the air pump I purchased while visiting with you Crissy, pumped it up but thought I'd best get it repaired, so this morning I stopped down the block, told them to fix my tire, he then asked if I wanted the oil changed..yes, why not, it was almost due..walked a block to work..mid morning got a call to say the engine filter needed to be replaced, ok...just a little later called back to say there is a filter for the air conditioner/heater- black really needed done..ok to that as well...sooo after paying my bill which was just shy of $200. I decided no iron this week..not that it was a necessity, just something I wanted...then as I'm walking out he gives me a list from GM..
recall on something to do with the gas tube? don't remember getting one, so have to make that appt. then he tells me I need a new windshield wiper (going to Canadian Tire tomorrow for that) then 4 more items listed, one of which is the timing chain(gear)..preventive maintenance $375.00 and should be done...omg nothing broke and yet they want to fix it...drats and more drats..you were smilling with a happy face Crissy, you must have sent me your frown...
