East Bridgewater, MA

Victor, I thought it was an airborne weather station!

Must be my creeping senility.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

snow melting today. Snow mon., not sure how much.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, if you look closely, you will see a paper attached at the bottom. What I have done a few times is let these mylar balloons go with a postcard attached, asking whoever finds it to write down when and where they found it and drop it in the mail. Was always curious about how far it would travel. I say on the postcard that it's for my son's science class! never got one back yet.

We did a balloon release in 6th grade to raise $ to pay a boy's medical fees(what a story that is) One of the balloons made it to England.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow! You heard back? Cool!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

next time I have balloons I am going to try that

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

One bad thing about balloons is they don't fly forever, and many marine animals mistake them for jellyfish, once ingested they don't break down and plug up the works, so to speak. High on the diet of sea turtles is jellyfish, save a turtle, pop the balloon. Just don't landfill it in the Atlantic. Ric

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Good morning everyone. Trying to catch up around here after my get away from it all weekend. Needed that a lot. My sister took my mom overnight and DH and I headed for conn. Nice to not have to be worried about anything for a couple days. Best part was my souvenir. A cute garden gnome with sun powered lantern. Can't wait to get him in the new garden extension. His name is Charlie.
Weather was lovely and again today looks to be sunny and mild. Present temp is 30 degrees with light NW wind. Rest of the week not so much with lots of rain/snow/sleet. Mostly rain here so it could be a lot worse and maybe the soil will stay defrosted early this spring. That would be a good thing too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Glad you got a refresher, Pat!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Victor. I must admit I really needed it, winter is really tough. Once a year they let me out in public. Ha!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pat I can't wait to meet Charlie and so glad you got some Rn'R!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Nice, really needed that....it's snowing here. :(

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bummer. We'll have a mess tonight.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

That is nice Victor. Must be happy out there.
Thanks Bill and Pixie. Here he is, his first pic in his new home, but I do not think he likes the cold from the look on his face. I brought him back inside where it is warm and he looks much happier. ^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice Victor... the gnome does look happy!!!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

It's 38° and the snow has turned to rain. It may help to melt the rest of the snow, but it makes the ground all muddy!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Completely overcast now.

South Hamilton, MA

40° with snow predicted for tomorrow, changing to rain. Hope it gets rid of the snow on the ground with finally one snowdrop peeking through the cover. Moisture is then supposed to go out to sea & make a left turn reappearing as snow. Isn't New England fun?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Those backwards storms can be some of the worst too. So far this one that is due to "return" on Friday doesn't look too bad here in se Ma., but it is still a long way off. At least three days of cold but mostly rain storm to look forward to first. Current temp....45 degrees under sunny skies! Feels like spring out there today.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Overcast here too. Looks like a nasty weather week.
41 the low was 25
