Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ooooooh my....... 50 stores, eh? Hmmm wonder who's benefitting from this? (don't forget, I'm in Canada, and not aware what's going on in US business, other than what I hear here......)
and I wonder what all those employees are doing for $$ - going on UI, I'll bet!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, the govt. doesn't hand out vouchers to the poor who needs appliances...

Jacksonville, FL

Just popping in to say hi! Have been busier than a one-handed paper hanger lately and have had no computer time at all. Hope everyone is doing well and I will try to catch up when things slow down. {{{Hugs}} to all and just wanted to share something with you.

Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.
If God has done anything for you in your life,
please share this message with someone else.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards;
so let's continue to pray for one another.
And I Hope You Dance Through 2010!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Hey Jaye...what's an LAQ???

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

MistressG - may I use that poem in my site - Christian Church Committees?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

LAQ Long arm quilter

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow Jaye, that is terrible! Is there a small chance he can keep the company? I don't u nderstand what appliances has to do with the cash for clunkers? I would say something about the administration, but I may get kicked out of here if I do! So I will bite my tongue!

That story is so nice, where do you find them?

CIndy, nice to hear you have more friends to check out, maybe one of them will work out. Don't worry about the age difference, it is just a number. If you like him, and visa versa, go with it! Better get your passprt up to date!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just like the car program.. Trade in your old energy thirsty appliances for more efficient ones, you get some cash reimbursement from the govt.
Most of the appliances that can't be resold or fixed, end up as scrap metal, not in landfills. So there's dollar value there for the govt as scrap prices are high now.

We've seen old folks on fixed income coming in, grateful to have a place where they could get real cheap appliances, albeit used. Then there are the working class who cannot afford the costly brand new ones, especially those that have lost their creditworthiness.

We'll be alright LK. Have immense faith that He has nothing but good plans for us.
Tonight's bible class make us appreciate what we have.

Don't get me wrong... I love America.. just can't stand the direction this country is heading.

Donna, I LOVE that poem! We are certainly dancing with God!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'll bid all a good night.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone..
brand new day.. brand new hopes.. brand new US.. just old bodies!!!

Breakfast is ready. Grits and link sausages. Coffee of course.

Will be busy getting a spare bedroom ready for company. You all know what happen to the spare bedroom right? We have turned both spare bedrooms into junk rooms!!

Oh no... it's snowing!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Are you kidding us? Snow? I have the yellow thing in the sky but for how long I don't know.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Hey Marion that yellow thing is here too. I'm going snowblind looking out my office window right now. The "Big" storm missed us last night. Finally some good news. I won't feel like we are safe though until July at this rate.

Stay warm and dry ladies!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh yes Maid M!! No prediction of snow this week, supposed to be last week!!! Of course, the weather man's missed it again!!

I do hope this don't continue tomorrow.

Juanita, July???? Poor you!!!! Well, a little sun will hopefully gladden your spirits! Let's hope for NO more snow..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I think we all turn our extra bedrooms into junk rooms, when no one is sleepin in them! It just gathers there for some reason?

Morning everyone. Thanks for breakfast Jaye.
Hope you all had a good nights sleep.
Marion, I sure hope that yellow orb stays out for awhile, and dries things up a bit?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

My date last night was so funny. He gave me a single pink rose. He has had a rough life. Told about his son who committed suicide, by hanging himself then he broke down and cried. Oh my gosh my heart just broke for him and I didn't know what to do. So I reached across the table and took his hands in mine and just held them. So then I got him to talking about Mexico and scuba diving, from then on we laughed and laughed. We had maragritas, I only had one and it hit me right between the eyes. So we stayed and talked for 2 1/2 hours. I wanted to make sure I was able to drive before I left. When I got up this morning I had an email from him saying how nevous he was and he hoped he didn't talk too much and that he really liked me and wants to getogether again soon. Says he is going to call me today.

We have sunshine today BUT!!!! a huge storm coming in tomorrow with high winds and lots of snow for the sierras.

Ok need to go for my walk and then back to work on swap items ^_^

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning ladies... Well, we ended up with about 14 inches of that dreaded white stuff yesterday. And as that storm ended, another came in to take its place. Except this one brought much higher temps and rain!! So now we are melting like crazy and are watching for floods!!! Is there no end to this crap?????? Not that I mind the melting but I feel so bad for anyone who needs to deal with flooding. We are lucky enough to be about 2/3 way up a hill with good drainage. Better not flood here - my quilt room is in the basement!!!
Jaye I am so sorry to hear of the appliance situation. I had not heard of this program.
Things have got to change in this country and fast.....
Off to do laundry today. Hope everyone stays well.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Juanita, put your sunglasses on dear.

Spare bedrooms? Junk room? Yeap know the terms well--have 2 of them.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Barb, so glad you checking as I was worried about you and Norm. Psst: want to do my laundry too?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I got the nerve up to look outside for green stuff peeping out! I have a daffodil and a tulip up and budding! Yippeeee! Spring is on the way! 31* right now, and climbing!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yay, spring is on the way!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'll do a low key "yay" along with you, Audrey and LK. Nothing green here..

but YAYYYY the snow has stopped!!!

.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It is still 45 here. They said upper 50s. Somthing off?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Remember the hottest time of the day is around 3pm.

I have dandilions too! How exciting it it!!

Jaye I'm so sorry to hear that, but maybe the won't have to put in a bid and maybe you won't have to worry about it then. Kinda sounds reminiscent of Dave's 60 day notice.

Susan, If you pay into unemployment benefits through the company you work for, you can get some of that money back, that's what a majority of the unemployed US population is doing. If you own your own business and don't pay into it you can't draw anything back out of it.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Is it going to be a full moon soon? LOL, a few days ago on one of the dating sites I am on a guy winked at me. Well he was not a paid member so he could not send me any emails. So he found me on one that he could send an email to me. He said that he had been searching them like crazy trying to find me, lol. So we chatted on IM, he just moved back to Ca from Kentucky to be closer to his parents as they are getting on in years. He said it was time to come home. And of all things.................he lives in Marysville close to where I used to live. His name is Doug and he is 52 and a cutie too ^_^

Now there is Curt......he has been trying like mad to set up a date to meet, but I am always doing something on the days that he is avaiable. He asked me if I would like to go to Mexico in Nov. I said geeze we haven't even met yet but............... we'll see what happens.

And then there is Richard.......he called me this morning. He is coming up tomorrow and we are going bowling. He told me that he really, really, likes me and that he had a heck of a time falling asleep last night because he was on cloud nine. He is so funny. And I think he wants to get to know me really well in a hurry so that I'll go to Mexico with him sometime next month. Oh wouldn't that be FUN!!!!

Well for right now I am just going to take one day at a time and see where all of these dates lead.

Today is my daughter's 35th b-day. I am going to buy her some gardening tools. She has two small flower beds that have tulips that are in memory of her late MIL. So she had been keeping them weeded but has no tools. We are going to Chevey's tomorrow night for dinner.

Gotta get busy need to send out my Feb b-day packages Sunday is Chris' bday (ClanCampbell) and rainy_jane's was waaayyy back at the begining of the month. I'm so bad!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, wonder why they all want to take you to Mexico? Be carefull please? Have fun, but be careful. You don't look like your old enough to have a daughter to be 35! Wow, but when I stop and think, my boys are 34, and 28! Oh, I feel old!!! ^_^ Where does the time go?
Susan, how nice of your hubbies boss to find all that fabric for you!
Afternoon Barb, how are you doing today?

Well Richard hasn't said anything yet. He is going to be enrolled in truck driving school come April. He is suppose to be getting $12,000 for a motorcycle that he is selling. So he's not sure what to do with the money yet. I'm thinking he is waiting to see what happens between us. He has a chance to buy into a business with a friend in Mexico, he really wants to live there but yet he wants to be a truck driver and go OTR. And he is looking for someone to spend time with. So............we will see what happens. As for Curt, I'm not really sure about wanting to date him the age thing is bothering me, just a bit. And he will be in Mexico from Nov - April and said I could come down for a week here and there, but that is a loooooooooonnnnnnngggggg ways off. I'm pretty good at judging these guys and find out ALOT about them before I go out on these dates. And I let my family know where I am, and also give them the guys cell phone #. If the guy won't give me his cell phone # then I won't go out with them.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm just about ready to float away LK. It has been pouring here all day. Most of the 14" of snow that we got yesterday is gone today. But tonight it gets cold again and we get snow showers for the next few days. I so want spring to get here. I love white on white but enough is enough!!!
