Countdown to spring! Part 10

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yeah, but how to get such a nice clump like that!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I never listen.........love that iris 'Pixie Dust'!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

That is really pretty. Says it is more vigorous, maybe I wouldn't kill this one off. They are such a pretty plant with the dainty flowers and bluish foliage.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, those are nice, Pixie! Congrats, Allison, on bloom of the day--we have some wonderful talented folks here on DG! I've never grown valerian, but the vanilla scent has me intrigued---sounds nice. Jo Ann---the poppies are wonderful.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Valerian does peak my interest as well.. good for tea!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - I didn't know about valerian's fragrance either. I love vanilla. Nice shot, bop. Looks like some viburnum blooms.

I love stokesia and have quite a bit.

I like Sea Breeze.

Mostly a pink/lavender/purple day here today and it's great.

That Valerian is wonderful!

Anyone who wants valerian seeds, just d-mail your address to me. I've never saved it before but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Pretty clem there Victor. I don't think I have ever heard of that one before, nice.
JoAnn it's deja vu again! I still love the poppies.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Serves me right for posting so early in the AM

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks! It's a recent addition.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Forgot to say - 29 days!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I figured you hit the wrong button that's all JoAnn. Anyway lets people that don't want to scroll way back get a nice look too. Works for me. Now there is another nice group of lilies. Can't you just imagine how wonderful they are all going to look in the late spring and early summer.
It won't be long now, just 29 days Victor says. Yippee! I saw proof just a few minutes ago too when I went out to top off the birdbath. Tulip tips just poking up where the snow has melted out front. What a lovely sight.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i have some daff tips

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I haven't checked. I'm sure I do too.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I've had tips since October but they always delay coming up until April, thankfully.

Thomaston, CT

Nothing :(--I was sure my daffs would be poking through.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wonderful duck shots pirl!

Warners, NY

Bought my first camera in twenty five years last year and find I have taken photos of nothing but daylilies so should probably stay in the daylily forum. Also I really need to work on color as I'm very unhappy with the differences in color--I at least learned to avoid bright sunlight and get early morning or evening shots, but I still have to learn other stuff. Somewhere I read about using a gray background----will try next Spring.Meanwhile all I have is another daylillly, this one I think is Statuesque X Classic Simplicity, I haven't observed it carefully enough, but I think it opens in the evening and lasts until the next evening and smells good.

Weedy, there is no rational reason to deny us your DL shots. Go back to the instruction book for your camera and look up white balance. It will help to get true colors.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, this isn't the photography forum don't worry about it. ^_^ I only get lucky with my shots 1/2 the time.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, play with the WB controls. You will hit on something that will improve the colors. People use a 'gray card' to adjust it too, but you have to be able to do a 'custom' WB.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its too early for a pic.
This is off topic but worth watching.
Arrest me.!!!!!!

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Victor, Margaret Hunt is lovely. How many clems do you have? Pirl, I am so craving some daffys. Thanks for the fix!
Weedy, sometimes you can adjust the color to what you really saw in an editing program. There are lots. I use Photoshop Elements. Lovely daylily!
I love that Allium Moly. I had that years ago and it just disappeared. Venu, the rose is beautiful.
Here are some irises for you all:
