Bad side of square

Doing the visual with 2 different block in hopes you can see it...

when sewing block, put the 2 good sides together

in the chain corner with needle in hand you will see if you place the blocks that the top edge shows, a front stitch and a back stitch..place your needle through the back loop into the back loop of the 2nd square

NO top stitching..if it's done right you'll not see the wool

when you are finished sewing the 2 blocks together this is what it will look like..see how the wool stitches go sideways and not overstitched above the 2 blocks?

when it's finished this is what the 2 squares look like (also rows put together in same fashion)

Clean looking, you might see just a tad of the color you sewed together with but you'll always have that

It really is like blind stitching when putting together knitting...

Have I confused you..could do more photo's from home where I have a half decent camera..this webcam sucks...lol

I have my first row ready to be sewn together so your instructions are timely. I made a new tabletopper today. and got a little X-stitch done and worked on my towels. I'll get all these things done, I will, I will........

That is what I told my daughter...I get several things going at once....now it is crochet.....then knitting.....painting.....clay..... cards.....something new or repeat.... that is when sh made the above comment!

Betty I just love you to pieces, I'm just fine. I've never taken this car out in the snow, I wanted to Tuesday but Dave wouldn't let me. He almost put his truck in the ditch pulling out of the driveway yesterday, then got half way down US 70 to the Interstate 30 and the road was closed, a wreck or something, so he called me and I told him to just flip a Uie and go back home, it's bad karma to keep going at this point.

The dish part was completely covered in snow, I called Hughesnet and they said if there's anything covering the dish part of the satellite it won't work and advised me to go out and brush it off, but it's on the roof so I just don't think so! LOL As soon as it melted and slid half way down it came back, but it was slow until it completely melted off sometime yesterday.

Thanks for sharing that card! Way too cute! I'm going to start celebrating my birthday in July this year I think. I love birthdays!

My goal today is to be completely caught up and have my desk cleared off, so I'm fixing to get motivated...

34* here and rising. Snow preedicted again for this weekend. Brrr!!!

-12 here but sunny..calling for much the same for all weekend..tomorrow 9am Sailor goes to the groomer, I go for perm, then mom is coming over and we're going to a few winterama festivities...that all but will take in Saturday...the rest of the weekend this old gal wants to play!

One of the clients dropped in this morning and saw me watching cartoons, hey, what can you do when you have a t.v. that only catches 2 chanels and you are at work?

So he gave me a site that's absolutely fabulous..hard to imagine how they can air shows that are presently in the theatre now and also every show imaginable...

I'm watching Avatar that comes in a pt.1-pt.2 fashion..don't really understand it, much too futuristic for me, lol, but lot's to keep my attention..I can well imagine seeing in in 3d

Also listed are several other shows that I wanted to see so perhaps over the weekend I'll get to watch them in the comfort of my own home...know I can make the popcorn that goes with it...

Sew, this is my first real q-block, with a name. It's called Honee Bee, now I have to hand sew the lil wings on.

After that one was pieced I thought ohhh the brown make such a pretty frame!
lol, and it did! Today i am going to play around with a basket square...I will use the same fabrics.

I am soooo happy.....I had to go searching for a Knit Cap pattern to post over on the Knitting site and I found an entire bag full of my missing knit and crochet patterns that I had been looking for!!! Now if I get the Crochet projects caught up I can play with my knitting for awhile.

well everyone here is quilting or afghan ing..lol. i have seen such lovelies but alas i can do none them my hands now would not let me so i look .. your all so talented.. all i did was take care lots lots other people's kids. from 19 on. i took care ones had babies when got grown to so.. see i never learned nothing.

I got a migraine at work yesterday around 1pm, so my work came to a screeching hault, but that's ok, I went internet shopping instead. It went away while I was driving home but ended up with the shaky yucky feeling, so ate dinner and just sat in front of the boob tube the rest of the evening. By the time I went to bed at 11 I felt almost back to normal, today I'm fine. Weird.

Dave's in the shower so I'm going to go find out what's on his agenda for the day. See ya'll later!!!

Just lurking. I've got a stuffy nose and cough with sore throat. I think the change in climate and the cold is finally catching up to me. DARN!!!

Doing some crocheting on the afghan today and watching the ski jumping. I just LOVE the Olympics. Great opening ceremonies last night. No wonder I can't keep my eyes open. It was 12:30 am by the time Wayne lit the outside torch!!!!But I loved it..

I fell asleep, but good thing we recorded it! It was nice!

Hello everyone..omg I'm totally exhausted..would write all I was up to but then I'd tire you out..last of my company left not more than 5 minutes ago, it is now time for bath, then off to bed...

Friday afternoon after work went shopping looking for a stained glass fixture for kitchen lighting..couldn't find what I was looking for but got lots of idea...

Of course you can't go shopping without stopping at Fabricland..wow, needed 4 yards of black flannel for the rag quilts, had to pay 9.00 a meter (39 inches) shaking my head that I hadn't figured things out better because I paid $2.49 a yard for the golf theme flannel in Buffalo..cannot figure out why material cost so much here...

Met up with a couple of old childhood girlfriends and went out for supper...by the time I got home it was all I could do to finish the pincushions for the fund raiser at the community center today..didn't let anyone down, they had all the thread catchers and I dropped the cup pincushions off at 8am when they were setting up

After dropping off my donation to their fund raising efforts I went and took Sailor to the groomers, she sure did need her nails done..think her mommy should have had hers done at same time..lol..

While she was being done, off to my weekly shop at Canadian Tire..they had the pkg. scissors that are usually $19.99 on as a door crasher for $3.69...asked if their was a limit, don't think the young lad who was serving me or the young lady at the till knew that I shouldn't be purchasing more than 2...8 sets came home..always use scissors right? If not, always a swap or a gift I need...

They are great cutting scissors..use mine all the time..always have one or 2 sets out for the girls to use..think they use them to cut everything in sight so must replace them often..at that price, who cares...

No sooner got home, that it was time to meet up with Melanie (DIL) at the craft sale...her girlfriend makes homemade soaps, just love using them..made with goats milk and glycerine..several came home..I especially like Muskoka Pines..smells wonderful..few extra bars set aside for possible swaps...I'm on a 'get stocked up' kick..lol

It was Winter Frolic Winterama, saw the cardboard tobaggan races, ice skating competition..lordy all the children were excited...fun...

Got back home and mom came..visited for awhile and then I suggested we go to the craft sale again, of course, there was a method to my madness...3 of the girls who are quilting my quilt were there and were able to open the room to show us the quilt..I'm thrilled, hardly an area not quilted..I'll be taking it home most likely in a few weeks...mom thought they were doing a fantastic job so she's bringing another cross stitch quilt top for them to do...they've enjoyed doing my cross stich quilt top and said they'd be glad to do another..said I could ask a high price if I wanted to sell it..nope..probably be in a bag in a drawer...

You can't see is very well because they've plastic on it to protect it when not being quilted...

Then the kiddies surprised me with a yellow rose plant..my camera is not doing it justice...

It truly is realistic and I played right along with them saying 'wonder where I'll plant it in my garden' ... 'no grandma, it's pretend like your food' lol

Does really look realistc..better than real flowers, they'd be a gonner by Tuesday, this will look pretty on the back bedroom deck..that bedroom is done in yellow and blue...

So that was yet another thing that made my day...

Then some friends came in, ordered pizza/fries from next door..they saw my pants were a bit big (dieting is working) said I needed some flesh to hold my pants up and it wouldn't hurt to get off the diet this one time...ok..did..I won't be happy this week...

To make up with it, we plugged in the wii and played..nothing more comical that seeing a bunch of aged women playing wii..omg..what a lot of laughs..

So now it's just me, decided not to start anything this late in the evening..has started to snow pretty heavity..so a bath, nightie and crochet hook will be everything a Sat. night should be...

Yep, am resting..NOT tomorrow though, 11 pairs of jeans to cut and hem, my Feb. block to do, work on my spring project..oooh will have to show you that..the 'swap' partner that I'm making it for never drops in here for coffee so it would be ok to do so...lol...

Will re-read your posts in the a.m. and respond..- I did glance quickly..know you are all ok....that means I can rest easily...

Been crocheting too. Sounds like you had a great day Betty. After haircuts, Norm and I pretty much stayed in. It has been cold here and I don't do well with it. My afghan is coming along well. No sewing today - giving machine a rest.

Taking a very short break, forgot to eat so I am starving!

Barb, glad your enjoying the crochet pattern, I'm anxious to see the color..I'm about 3/4 done all my multi colored blocks, because the rows are in blocks of 15 and I've 13 colors so far a trip to Walmart this morning to purchase another 2 colors then I can just alternate the blocks by one that I would be able to start sewing some together...

Melanie (DIL) wants a bench, told her I'd show her how to make one so at same time I can go to Home Depot and pick up the wood..one of the men there think something is wrong if I don't show up early Sunday mornings..lol...he and his girlfriend dance, always talking me into joining the dance group..one day I just might..says there is always someone about who needs a partner

Yes mom cross stitched the top, she's 2 or 3 waiting to be quilted..she has one she's working on now, pink/maroon roses and one in the closet not opened that she says I need something to do so will drop it off for me and says on our next Buffalo trip I can purchase embroidery thread as it's much cheaper there..she's thinking mid-March to go shopping again, this time bringing Jim (step-father) as he loves tools and wants me to take him to the shop I located last weekend, should be fun...this time we take the van with the back seat out so we can really shop...too funny...
