look away Celeste!!!!.. do I have to have the not the cute things talk with Wall-e

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jen Watched Jumanji. Was pretty good. Kids liked it.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah it was kinda nasty, I had to be the one to get rid of it since hubby has been on the couch snoring all night.

Before I saw Jumanji I didn't think I was going to like it, but I did.

Jen, Sophie has a message for Wall-e

We all have spoiled pets, well at least it looks like it. The new puppy is real good until I leave him home alone and he becomes a Jeckyl and Hyde. In the chair was 2 bones, a squeek squeek, a ball and a Brass VASE! - 2 pees, 1 poo less then a cat could do. Rug chewed up and spreaded all over the living room. Only 2 hours gone and that vendictive little brat got slapped. ARGHHHHHHH

Crate time!!

Thomaston, CT

Chewy is a doll----my Suey & Robs were so happy when we came home from FL----Suey has glued herself to me. Their bed was chewed, but that was the only damage I could find---unless Mark, the house & dog sitter, got rid of the evidence! Anyway, it was time for a new bed, the other one was too big & stinky, and Robs has taken to sleeping in the bathtub, anyway!

At least the dogs enjoy the snow!! Not me!

Buddy is frustrated! He's our Beagle/Basset and he's too short to see over the snow, too deaf to hear things clearly, and wants more potty paths. Here he's baying at a passing snowplow, at least he thinks it's a snowplow. LOL Ric

Wall-e playing in the snow. He came over to the window like he was saying "come on out and play with me"
This is under my deck taken from my family room window.

Cute. No more bunnies, I hope!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

So far no, I think the snow is taller than the bunnies so maybe they are not braving it.

venu - crate is coming tomorrow.............little bugger. Not you the puppy!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Well, Bailey and Carli are healing on schedule and are getting pretty impatient with this "Keep them separate and quiet for 7 - 10 days" mandate. We are challenged as well, so we threw them in the car in separate travel crates this morning and took off on a day trip. They are great in the car, so it went pretty well. They got several short walks and were pretty content - until we got home around 4:30......Our vet had said that today was the first day they could take a walk, and only down to the River today, not around the block yet. She said that exercise will make the tissue around the incisions swell and they will be uncomfortable and fussy, so we have tried hard to keep to the rules in hopes of a fast recovery for both. Well, on the walk to the River as soon as we got home, both of them were just dying to run and flip and chase each other. They are also not swinging with this divided circle pen in the living room either. THEY WANT TO WRESTLE AND TUSSLE! So, let's see, only 5-7 more days to keep the ladies from rising up in revolt. Hmmmmm. Not sure we'll make it!!!! Carli lost 2 teeth in the last 24 hours as well.

Wow that's a lot of down time for a puppy, I don't remember it being that long.

South Hamilton, MA

We have always used crates when we had dogs. Also play the radio when you are gone? Helps the separation anxiety.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I heard the radio helps

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Always helps me when I have to leave home.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Iris - thanks! We do use crates and they have no problem being left alone in their separate (but touching) crates; it's just that if they are left in the crates for a lot of the day, they go bananas when they are let out. There's nothing but pure puppiness at play here. We'll get through it. We are lucky to be retired and able to roll on the floor with them! LOL

Thomaston, CT

When we had our airedale twins spayed & neutered, the vet said not to let them go upstairs----they had never been upstairs, so as soon as they got into the house, both ran up! I swear they understood just what he said.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL! That is sooooo funny! We are entering the "adolescent" stage. Oh Joy!! They are still sweetcakes 95% of the day though!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh brother. Unless the dog is bald it should not be wearing clothes, that's why it has fur.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Uh - watch those bald references!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hee hee

Hubby was at the dermatologist the other day and he told him to get Neutrogena 100 spf to use on his head.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

100 spf?!!! Talk about overkill. Also - should get 20-30 minutes of sun every day.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Well when he's working on a roof he has no choice. Dr said that if out in the sun a normal spf is fine but the work he does he needs to block UV-A rays.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jen I will say one of my dogs does need a coat.. she shivers in mins of being outside in this weather.. the other is fine.. but Jily's hair is very fine... maybe that has something to do with it... Lily has a thick coarse coat

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't doubt that, Jen. But I think 100spf is just marketing BS. With spf 15, I get nothing at all.

Thomaston, CT

My Suey needs a coat in this weather---she has very short hair---however, I paid more than $25 for her coat---it's a Land's End parka---don't laugh---keeps her warm & dry!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The dr's not making any $ off that sale of it though, so who knows.

Saw on House Hunters on HGTV that a lady wanted a walk in closet so that she had a section for her dog's clothes.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am not that bad Jen.. but they do have a drawer for leashes and clothes

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

The way I'm going with these two urchins, I could be that lady on House Hunters! They don't have any clothes yet, but they have amassed so many "things" so far, I've had to turn the top shelf of my golf locker into a doggie needs storage area.

I have a drawer for leases, though no dogs. ^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oohh fun stuff Victor!!!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

My babies have a thing for carrots. Is it ok to gifeed them raw carrots? My big dogs wont touch veggies so i'm just wondering.

Clothes....I took the sweater off an old teddy bear and it fits Weezy just right. She has thin fine hair and needs some added protection.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Raw carrots are good for dogs

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Thanks Jen. Thats good news, cause they eat them like crazy.
