This is Moe. He is 7yrs. old. I got him from my son in August. He had just spent 30 min outside waiting to chase squirrels. He is a NC dog so this winter was a surprise. The snow didn't bother him as much as getting his feet wet when it melted.

nice squirrel chaser!!!!!... nice to keep pets in the family

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Got home to find the cats made a mess! Also, water in the basement from the rain, combined with clay litter - well you know what that means. Ugh.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sorry to hear that, Victor. Yuk!

Moe is a pretty dog, Holly. I, too, like that you kept him in the family!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Stinky Poo! lol!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor - I know exactly what water in the basement plus cat litter is like! Slippery and gross. I switched to sawdust litter after that experience. My sump pump must have come on as my basement was wet but not flooded - no floating catboxes this time.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't they track the (dry) sawdust all over, Cat??

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

line the stairs with those boot scuffers... LOL

Thomaston, CT

Gosh Sherrie, that's a creepy one!

But its real. OMG I would have a heart attack, and I am not ummmm ..........

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

freaky for sure

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Victor - the sawdust doesn't track too badly. I have hardwood floors and it is about the same color. :) The nice thing about sawdust is that it is really light weight. My cats are raw fed so they don't have stinky urine or big poops which helps the whole litter situation. I did let the pet sitter feed them canned food while I was gone and I could smell the boxes just walking into the house. Pueeww weeee! I probably wouldn't be using sawdust (it is cedar) if they were eating regular food.

Over in the pets forum people are talking about using pine pellets for litter and buying them at the feed store as horse bedding really inexpensively. Someone found some litter boxes that have mesh floors to use with the pine pellets so the used sawdust falls through - I imagine that kind of box would really help with the track issue. Unfortunately - or fortunately for THEM - the floor is almost always covered with cat nip at my house anyway.

I am trying to kill some time as I cant feed my dogs. Mr G (puppy) has to go to the vets at 7:30. poor boy.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaaawwww... hope he is ok

Thomaston, CT

Getting the big operation?

Hes still is not right. Dopey and has not ate or drank nothing yet. He better start to come into it today or I will have to call the Vets.

He says - I am a young man but, I dont have a thing to say.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaaaaaaawwwwwwww... hope he is ok Sherrie

He ate breakfast. Lets see if it stays down. Was not a good night here. Husband rolled out of the bed, onto the floor and smacked his nose and cut it open. Then dog barfed in the bed. Good grief.

South Hamilton, MA

That's why dogs should not be on beds--let them barf in a dog crate. Hope the vet can help him. Husbands are on their own--ouch!

Husband rolled out of the bed in a dead sleep. The thud on the floor did wake me up.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

OUCH. then barf....you have my sympathies!
