Linda Kay, clotilde had a little pamphlet type booklet on stack and whack that was just a couple dollars (if Memory serves), I bought some large scale fabrics, that were very inexpensive..to give this a try...not beeen brave enough yet!!!

..........jist digging out from 30.5 inches of snow! no internet since fri! 10 more inches tomorry! ....and then i find me poor self ...fenced in! like i done done sumptin!!!

When there is that much snow, I don't call it pretty any more. There are so many here (not in my area) that are digging out from under mud. Fire area last summer then hard rains and all that muck comes rolling down. So many have their homes red tagged because it is too dangerous to stay there. One single mom with teen agers stayed and started digging herself out, a lot of strangers came to help her. Stangers do come to the rescue these days too. And, more rain is expected!

Went to Trader Joe's today and got myself some Himalayan pink salt crystals with grinder and a small bottle of fine sea salt. The salt gets it pink color from the earth elements. That is some awesome store. Wish I had a lot of money so I could buy a little of everything. More and more people are reading the ingredients.

Got a little energy so we are having swiss steak and I'm putting it over brown rice. My rice cooker is being put to use a lot now.

I had seen a demo on tv aeons ago.. Beth was a guest of Alex Anderson...and I told myself that looks non-threatening. Then at a quilt show, you guessed it.. a bunch of stack and whacks quilts. So, if they can do these.. then I can too, right?
Bought a used book, thank God it had its' revisions... urrrggghhh... you can say... lots of mumbled prayers under my breath... and stubbornly plowed along until 16 10" blocks were finished.
Well.. those sixteen are sitting in a tub along with some chicken blocks.. that's another story!!
Think I'll stick to Log Cabins!!!

Pegi, try to develop a taste for tofu. It's pretty bland, until you season it, but good for you. I love the firm variety, in soups or fried in oil a little and serve over brown rice.
I got to start eating right again. Can you imagine I was once a vegetarian? Went off the wagon after I had issues with my ex. Food was my comfort, especially red meat..

BJ just don't get so involved in the painting that we lose ya again!

Pegi, Love Trader Joe's !! Oh yes tofu is absolutely wonderful...google mao po tofu recipe....that is a dish I could live on!! And it is Not a bland recipe!

Jaye, I know I have eaten tofu in a Chinese dish. Takes on the flavor of other foods, but I have never purchased it. Will give it a try. I wouldn't have an issue just eating veggies, but everyone including my doctors tell me to eat meat. So guess I won't give that up, but eat more of the foods that are good for me. Saying that I will close and see what facebook has to offer me tonight.

What a wonderful sight to sign on tonight and see where BJ has been posting!! I have missed you girl--gets lonely in the corner all by meself when I beez bad. Then it is only Jaye that thinks I am bad. Glad to hear some of the stress has moved on--life is to short especially when you and Don are doing such a wonderful thing with those young people.

Been down to Gainesville, did help our resident Asian Cajun with her ragin' last night and even yelled for the Saints. Of course, there was doubt who I would support!!

Love the stack and whack blocks Jaye. I have found mine and take a picture tomorrow. Now it is bed time--I am exhausted from my trip and a busy day helping with my garden circle's luncheon.

Night Marion! Has it stopped raining?

For the time being it has!! I was so busy with going down for this fund raiser that I haven't check out the weather for the rest of the week. Just hope it stays clear as I go back down on Thursday for festival committee meeting then home and collapse for a long weekend !!!!!!!

There's also another soy food called Tempeh, that's very delicious any way you cook it. It's fermented soy bean cakes.

Trisha, it will soon be Chinese New Year. I do hope my Chinese friends here will be doing a steam boat again.

You all can have a good laugh over this one. Sent my daughter to the store to grab some canned chicken for chicken wraps tomorrow..... I tell her 5 cans because they were only $1 each....she comes back with.....get this....white crab meat.....I asked her if she read the can....she said, in her most sarcastic way, "no mom, I can't read! of course I read the can." I asked why crab and not chicken......she says, "you're the one who can't read...see right there it says...(drum roll please)....Chicken of the Sea!"

I was laughing so hard I was in tears....didn't have the heart to yell at her for getting lippy....and she felt like a complete idiot when she realized what had happened.

Praying you all stay safe tonight...Hope the weather clears up for everyone. This is getting ridiculous..and the bad thing is there will most likely be a very dry summer because of all the moisture now.....

The kids have been out of school for the past two days because of the snow...and now it is going to dump some more of that white stuff on us..........Craig couldn't even get out of the driveway this morning until we all went out and pushed and even then it took us 20 minutes. (loved the cartoon by the way) And yes she is still brunette..Jake likes her hair any way she wants it to be, not like shawn wanting her to dye it every week.

Well, here I was thinking that the "big one" that hit you in Ohio and east last week missed us and how lucky we were and kind of crowing about it. Today the snow started and they are saying we are getting LOTS by tomorrow morning. See what happens when you lord it over others; you get dumped on! Serves me right.

Actually other than be tired of the wet weather, I am in a very good location so I don't worry about flooding. Now the slick roads are another issue and the careless people who refuse to turn on their lights during these downpours!!! They can see so why can't the rest of us--arrrgh!!! We are having rain with colder temps moving in, clearing then more rain on Friday. Oh well I could be dealing with all the snow like the rest of you so I guess I should not complain!!

Where is everyone today. I am usually the lazy head on here.

Morning everyone, having computer problems here again, so it looks like I will be shopping for a new one! Desk top won't work at all, and this laptop, works when it wants to.
So if it is not too late, I have hot buttered wheat toast for jaye, and anyone else that wants it. Hot coffee, and cream of wheat for those that want a hot breakfast.
Hopefully I will be back later, if this computer keeps working!

Julie, your daughter will never forget this duhhh moment!! Too funny!! But actually, she's not the only one fooled by that label. First time I saw that, I asked my ex, why are they putting chicken stuffs along with the cans of tuna!!!! Then when my sister came to visit us, she asked the same thing. BUT for a natural born American, used to the commercials, your daughter won the prize!!!

Maid M., it's cold and raining here. One thing I learnt about this area, when it's raining..... avoid the roads! Folks here don't believe in giving signals before turning...you're forced to stop and hope your brakes work IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! Then somehow, rainy weather can influenced drivers to park 'selfishly'. This morning, we waste minutes looking for a parking space, in a very spacious parking lot, as most of the vehicles were 'straddling' between the marked lines!!! Hmm.. maybe they should turn on their lights so they could see?

Nope, didn't do any quilt shopping yesterday. Along the way, I spotted a new crafts store.. and you know that's like magnets to ALL of us here!!

Hey there Cookie. I mailed out a package to you this morning.
You all have the snow.. we have the hurricanes!!!

LK, it's an arts and crafts store. Everything in the store is hand crafted or painted. There were purses made out of inner tubes!! Lots of recycled materials turned into aprons.. purses.. bible covers. I was very impressed with the felt bags.
I got a couple of primitive paintings and folk art dolls. Poor Kel stood there while I dig in deeper into his pockets!!!
