FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Geez I'm gone for a few days and I get fenced in.. 31 inches of snow here. No power, no water, no phone for several days. Just finished cleaning up the mess. Haven't even tried to make it to the truck since the snow is over my knees. Maybe tomorrow.....

Juanita

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm ready for football!!!
This is hard.. New Orleans native against New Orleans adoptee!!

Well.. Geaux Saints!!

Welcome back BJ.. thought you've abandoned us!! So.. it's Ina that's giving you and Don some headaches?

Brought ALL your petitions to church today.... and even a big AMEN for Laura and Alice!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well Jaye it isn't too much longer!

Isn't it great to have BJ back with us!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trisha, thank you so much for not forgetting me!!
I did as you've asked.. check it out!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Jaye... it was Ina... but she's gone now. I think her new family will be one of those "be careful what you wish for" experiences, though. Just hope she doesn't make as much waves there as she did here.

Eve, from Thai, is a 'nother story all together... she's wonderful, and interested in everything, and is so grateful for everything... even the littlest things... and is a great Thai cook, and teaching me.

Thanks Trish, Jaye, LK, CUZ for missing me. I missed you all too.
Perhaps I can come more often now.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We sure hope so, you have been missed dearly. Now if you haven't already, scroll up, and read what Jaye got in the mail.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

and then it snowed, and it snowed

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Next.. it will be sunshine!!!! Can't get any worse!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

and it got colder, and colder.....(to be continued)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

pSSSSSssssssttt...... Juanita.. you're no longer fenced in.. alas.. I can't help you with the snow :(

Raleigh, NC

OK - popping in - I'm still alive and kicking, but way behind on reading!

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Hey, BJ, so glad to hear from you. I wondered if all was not right in the wide world of teenagers. They can be a real drag when they put their mind to it.
With snow and cold and packing, packing, packing, all I can think of is sitting on your deck in the sun with a nice cup of tea! better yet sitting in the gazebo with you and the others just chatting away! Tell Don we miss him, too!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey there Janice.. not watching the game? One way to keep the heart pumping!!!

Arrgghh... I have a traitor in the house.
Kel's cheering for the Colts!

Truth is, whoever wins... New Orleans have won.
Peyton, a N.O native vs. Brees. A N.O. adoptee!

Interesting commercials so far

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

He has to be the most gracious man I've ever had the pleasure to be affiliated with. And so lucky to have such a wonderful wife to be his partner. I wish them all the success in the world.

Glenview, IL

Awe Kel, sorry your team was LOST, lol little giggle there.

OMG and how 'bout the WHO...Who, who who are you?
OMG, brought back a ton of memories when I went to see them at 18! Yours truly, here got (sort of) arrested for bring out late!
Hadn't thought about that in years, ROFLOL, how stupid. But really Loved the light show.

BJ!!! So glad to see you, sorry you had some uh issues with the one girl. But yay, glad you may have more time to hang out.

Dave's Note to DG community brought tears, I agree Barb, Jaye...Wishing Dave and Trish All the Best with the New endeavor.

Ya Mon, Bahamamama Party huge success, and tadah, I am still the Jenga Queen...lol trick is never pay attention and just yank out and stack the block, and walk away till next turn. We had an Awsom turnout and lots of newbies, we call "virgins" Even our old neighbors came, which Totally surprised me...Bummer, you weren't able to join us Kim, but I figure your a bit overwhelmed with your crazy schedule.

Susan/Turtle chi, I am so looking forward to meeting up with you and Kim!

Crissy, oh my your embroidery is beautiful! Nice job.

Been Quiet today, lol guess everyone was getting ready for big day.

And Hello Janice!! So nice to see you pop in today. How's the packing and stuff, and how is your puppy?

Bon, hope things are going well...

Gotta check other threads...I wanna see who's all celebrating!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning evertone! Coffee is on, and we have granola bars to grab if you like?

I bet some are still partying from the game! Glad to hear the Saint's won!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

morning lk

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

must . . . . have . . . . coffee . . . .

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!!
How's the weather there today Sis? Snow flurries?? Windy?? Rain?? Or a combination of all?

Lacking sleep Nichole? You need some of that Louisiana chicory coffee.. that will give you a super boost!!

LK, my throat's sore!!! Too much screaming!! I had recorded the game and this weekend will savor those crucial turnarounds again. Kel was so 'bummed' last night that he drowned his sorrows in Bob Marley!! Could have joined Sistah Judy there!

Bonnie... where are you?? I found my stack and whack which I did last year.
I'm one that will take up a challenge, but will leave a trail of UFOs :D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, please explain the stack and whack? Is there a template?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Mornin'

Welp... I woke up yet one more morning... I'm always grateful when the Lord gives me another day on this earth... Don's grateful too, otherwise it would really mess up his plans for whatever project he has going that day.

Speaking of which... Don is off for 10 days while basketball playoffs are going on... so, he's decided we have enough time to sand and repaint the cabinets in the kitchen. Some of you might remember me showing you the crackles in the doors from the last time we painted them. So, I guess I'm going to be a little busy getting that done this week.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

No templates LK. You get a very busy fabric with at least 12" repeats.
Then cut the fabric at intervals, you will need at least eight layers thick, all the motifs aligned when stacked.
I didn't attend any classes for this, just followed Bethany Reynolds' instructions in her book. Now you can get a specially made mirror where it will give you an idea on the possibilities of designs.

Susan

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

All I can say about Stack and Whack.. is.. it requires PATIENCE!!!
Ok sistahs. Those that quilt, don't forget the Downy kid program.

Morning BJ. Will you be redoing the kitchen counter too? I recall you're not thrilled with the black anymore.
That will keep you both indoors for a while. Bet Eve will try to help too.

Time to get Hambone fed.. kitties out of their room... get ready to accompany Kel's dad to the oncology center..
then quilting tools shopping!! Yay!!

See you all later!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Susan... thanks for the link, but it's already up there last night :D

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

No, Jaye... the counters will have to wait a while longer... that's going to be a very expensive project.
We're painting because after he built me the "island" for the kitchen... and painted it white... it made the cabinets look even more crappier. Besides... painting is a lot cheaper to do than granite counter tops.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Bj, sounds like your going to be busy for a bit! Don't work too hard.
I will have to go look for that book Jaye, and see how you stack the fabric's, to get them to match up.
Morning Kathy, Susan, Nichole, and everyone else lurking!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

BRENDA!!! I missed you so much!!! Are you coming in June????

Please say yes and I'll reserve your sleeping spot!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

and then the sun shone and shone
