Today's Weather in Your Garden - 62

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Welcome back, Robin

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

38*F an climbing with some clouds. Everything I shoveled is bare already and should be dry by evening. I thought I'd use my running shoes to shovel, which turned out to be not so good. I don't know if all the cushioning allows the soles to get cold or what, but the ice build-up was almost comical, like stepping into a bucket, and then a larger one and so on. I definitely got taller! LOL Ric

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! Like 70's platform shoes.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Funny you should mention platforms, I was going to start a thread on past trends you miss( or don't).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I miss hot pants and tube tops.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

We know, we know.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well another dusting of snow last night and a chance of a flurry this evening. Temp trying to get to freezing but has fallen back again now as the clouds seem to be taking over and blocking out the warmth of the Feb. sun. Light NNW wind.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Well the snow is all gone here, everything melted.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Weekend fun!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

We will be on the far northern edge of it here. They are predicting a 40% chance of snow. This could all change but so far south of here is getting the bulk of it and that does not make me unhappy at all. Best thing is that it fizzles out for everyone and is only a little snow on the gardens. I really do not like Feb. at all.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Febuary is nasty, with those winds and freezing rain storms...

Just a light dusting this am, but it was 'soap' on the roads!
36°, overcast

Just got this, pics not that good as he/she/it was far away. Sitting with a friend and I said HAWK he said OWL. What is it?

Love the phrasing above our area "potentially paralyzing" and starts off wet snow and transforms to a blizzard....lovely

Last one. I trotted out in the yard with the camera and then it took off

Owl

Any idea what kind? The wind span was 2-3 feet. I think? It was huge.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Barn Owl, I don't see any ear tufts/horns, looks like a nice healthy one.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Hoot owl aka Barred owl I agree.

Holy Cow - I thought owls just came out in the night. It caught me off guard. I thought it was a hawk at first but looking at the pics - its an OWL! Lot of birds where I live but never saw that one till today. :-) Thanks!

sunny and 32 currently.
gotta go to the store today.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sun is out for now. Temp is 24 degrees and a moderate 5-10 mph NW wind is starting to pick up a little. Still waiting to see where the top edge of that Sat. snow storm will be, hoping for more south than north.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, everybody and their mother is going to be at the grocery store today.(including me)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

The milk and bread brigade. Good for business the day before, but then you lose the day of the storm. Maybe it will poop out and not dump so much snow as they are saying.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, you guys down south will be swamped again.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

38 and the sun trying to come out. Most of our snow has melted.
