GYPSIES: THE SEARCH FOR LOST MARBLES
cool link Venice!
JJ did you finally get a decent supper?
Good morning! Er - a - er -a - er-r-r !!!
Heat wave, 19°. I have coffee.
mmm good coffee, thanks Smiley! I needed that!
It's 18 here, I was thinking the same thing, it's warming up!
And it is 20 degrees warmer here than at your house Lynnie....and I was too cold watching for the bus this morning....grin
Good Morning Smiley, Lynnie. I had hoped to log back in yesterday, but the cpu decided to only let me read msgs...not reply....know it was my hardheaded computer. cuz it was the same with hotmail and my other e-mail, and it wouldn't let me log back in to DG. DH accidently left powercord for laptop at work....don't ask....grin
PS, Here catch, some extra marbles in case you lose some this week wink
Today is Blue Monday! Colts are leaving Indy in a few minutes for FL. Many people are DT to give them a good sent-off. They fly into Ft. Lauderdale about 5:30 PM. The Saints have just landed in Miami. We had an injured guy who tore a ligament in his ankle. Uh oh!! That's not good.
Dwight Freeney completely tore his ankle ligament! :- ( He is one of the most important Colts players that would be taking out the Saints quarterback. Oh my!!!
Uh oh, how did he do that, Venice? He wouldn't have played in the pro bowl yesterday.
He injured it when they were playing the NY Jets last week. He has been in FL since last Friday being treated..
If it's meant to be... it's meant to be.
Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like he'll be playing on Sunday!
We will see. We are still looking for a win.
Hi everyone,hope you're all having a good day,we've had a warm 32 degrees here today:}
Venice, thanks for the link to the very interesting Tortoise article:}I often think it'd be great if I lived in a climate like that of S.California, and Theodore could live outdoors in the garden all the time. There were some beautiful species of Tortoise pictured, some of which I'd seen before and others that were new to me.Breeders in this country manage succesfully to hatch and rear quite a few different kinds,so they are available to buy,but only because they've been bred here, not imported.
Flowers, lovely photo of your dog, have a good time with your family.
We're in a heat wave!!! Ya!!! 43* Yes! Yes!
Hi Moon,Smiley,Flowers,Venice,Joy,JJ's,Lynnie,Marti,I sound like I'm saying good night on the Waltons! LOL....I'm with the grands.just want to tell all to have a wonderful eve. Hope all are well and feeling good. I'll catch up with all as soon as I can.....XO,XO!
Hiya Dixie, hi Joy, hi Marti !
Hope everyone has a good night.
HI all! I just got in, Mondays are loooong days!
JJ that layout looks good. Did you walk it to see how you' d like it? ;)
I not only walked it I cooked supper in it.
Need to turn my frig door around it opens the wrong direction now. Maybe tomorrow I will get that done. finally something I know how to do! :)
I couldn't believe when I got home he had moved them around. he had to move the gas and the water line to do it, and even wired up my new recessed lights temporarily to make sure he had them where I wanted.
Guess I should get really PO'd more often. haha
Ordered the denim insulation today to. So as soon as it gets here we can drywall.
good morning everybody! Smiley get up! coffee's brewing!
wow that's great JJ! it's going to be awesome!
does anybody watch Deadliest Catch? Phil had a stroke :(
Good morning Miss Early Bird! Too bad about Phil, is he ok? I watched that a few times early on.
JJ, it sounds like everything's moving along and pretty soon you're gonna have your kitchen!
hi ya Smiley! I woke up at 4, couldn't go back to sleep.
No news yet on Phil.
news on another famous Phil....Punxatawney Phil "saw" his shadow and "ran" back into his hole....I don't think his little paws touched the ground once. I'm watching out for my backyard groundhogs, I haven't seen them yet but since it's 15 degrees out I don't expect to.
mind you, I have nothing against Punxatwney or Phil, and I'm all for a party, I just think the little guy should come out under his own steam.
Good mornin Lynnie and Smiley! JJ's looks like project is making some head way now. Looks pretty! I guess your awful day had it's positive effect on your DH....GRIN. Have ya noticed that DH and DOG HOUSE have the same first letters? LOL.....
Hate to hear it about Phil on deadliest catch. Every once in a while I'll watch it. Thats one dangerous job! Heard ya on furry Phil Lynnie....they should let him come out on his on! Of course little furry Phil may have decided to stay in bed, with his head covered up until spring! Considering how wacky the weathers been. Not that I would blame the little fellow. Grin
Morning,
Dixie never thought of it that way before. lol
Lynnie never watched that but sorry to hear about Phil.
I agree they should let the groundhound come out on his own.
Smiley son brought me his taxes to be done, bet I don't get chocolate or fish, maybe a when will the money be here....grin...
Morning MJLVDMSJS and anyone else I missed. Lets see ya make a word out of that :-)If ya can you get a free spa treatment compliments of Dixie Chick he he. Just poped in for a second, We have been working a puzzle to cover in door time, they are better at it than I am , imagine that lol. JJ thats looking really good, DH knew he messed in his nest! ha ha. Joy nice country side, now we know why you love that walk. Crunch those #'s JJ and don't forget to put your fees in there. Smiley girl, miss ya hope you are rested and ready for another week of it. Martie, turned heat off last night, got hot in here, Crazy weather! Take care all and will catch ya this evening maybe! Hi Moon grin
HALLOOO as Tigger would say...JJ...that is gonna be splendiferous! Dixie is right putting DH in the DH works...grin Flowers, I am so glad you have the grands there...know you were Jonesing for them.
It is 49 here right now, heavy fog and had rain last night....If someone dragged you out of a nice cozy sleep and plopped you in the cold you'd head for inside too....let that furry Phil do it on his own.
I watched the first couple seasons of Deadliest Catch, just too cold and miserable...and I get attached to the characters...I stopped watching when one of the boats sank and a couple crew members drown/froze. Felt like I knew them. Sorry about Phil...I would be worried/sad if I were watching. Hope he is alright.
Hi Joy. Wouldn't Theodore just love being a garden tortoise? Of course your garden might take a few hits, but Theo would be happy...grin
Hi Marti....got your bermuda shorts out yet? Gotta take advantage of that heat wave....grin
Hope everyone has a smashing good day.
Morning. Its 43* right now. Snow is melting off. I can see my car. I think it is unhappy about being buried in snow. Tomorrow is bill paying day. Looks like I'll be able to get out of the driveway and into town.
Sitting here in shorts and halter top.
We're having a heat wave!
Wonderful heat wave!
BUT!! Snow due again this coming weekend. Can't it snow during the week and warm up on weekends. I need to get some tree branchs cut up and mored with help of nephew but with snow for the weekend, he'll stay home this weekend. He gets bored very easily here shut up in a single wide trailer with two old ladies.
Marti
The nerve of teenagers.....lol. News flash...my GS is 15 and lives with us full time....he bores very easily....period...grin Of course he spends all of his time with us old folks....wish I had the energy I had when I raised his dad....I could almost give him a run for his money on the soccer pitch or basketball court...don't do soccer at all anymore and after 10 minutes I am through with basketball for the week...lol
Venice, your plants looked well-loved. I love the oxalis. DH was killing his, I told him I was taking it over, but I don't think I caught it in time. The pot was rootbound an just loaded with salts. We shall see...
Flowers, ain't no way you can make a word out of all those letters ~ no vowels!
Hello to everyone else. Marti, I asked DH if there's normally snow in KY (his grandparents lived in Somerset for years) and read him one of your posts. He was all over it, amazed at the "small world" thing. It's getting so he knows who you all are!
Smiley, I got that oxalis free on a curb from craigslist.com. It looked pretty bad so repotted it and cut off all of the stems. The plant could have been thicker if I knew if those little bulb point went up or down! LOL My plant has salts on the top of the dirt but that is just one of those things that happens with this calcium rich water. A few of the leaves are dying off now. But the leaves do die back a few times a year and goes through a dormant period. Maybe that is what was happening to your plant! This site explains it well.

I hear that KY is to be getting more snow on Friday or Saturday. Strange weather!
Is it true that the Hebrew language has no vowels?
Yes we're getting snow this weekend. Darn, I wanted to get somethings done outside and burn some trash. Will just have to wait til the following weekend. Wish I had a bottle of Amareto, I'd set out the snow storm with a glass and a good movie. But this is a dry county so will settle for a hot cup of herbal Rose Hip tea and a good movie.
Venice, you have some very good healthy looking house plants[are they in the house?],I particularly like the colours of the foliage on the Oxalis. Is Craiglist a plant swap site?
Good evening everyone,it's been a warm 36 here today and forecast same for tomorrow....but by Thursday we're being told to expect a high of 45!!!,quite damp though.
Hope you're all having a good day.
Joy you've never heard of craigslist.com? go check it out. You can pretty much find whatever you want there.
Ok gypsy friends, the next time I leave the house on little sleep, somebody PLEASE glue my lips together. I was in the orthodontist's office today babbling like an idiot about groundhogs and gang shootings. Seriously, babbling. I think my kid might have rolled her eyes at the receptionist behind my back. Can I just shut the heck up when I'm overtired??
Joy, Craigslist is primarily for people who want to sell things or for people who want to buy things. The price is set so it is not an auction like eBay. However, they have a 'Free' section and that is where I found that plant and several others. I have not found any other plants there but found a ton of plastic pots. The site has about 20 cities listed for GB, no charge to join.
My plants are inside now but I can put most outside in the summer and bring them back in when it is cooler. I have found a couple of plants on Freecycle. I am in Zone 5 and I think you are maybe in zone 7? So what you can grow outside, I can't. Most of the plants I got at Lowes for under $1.00. My $.50 Gerbera Daisy finally gave up and died. All of my hens and chicks finally died also. Also, some of the girls gave me starts and little plants. Most of those are surviving.
