What are YOU looking most foward to??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow! Can't imagine that.

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Forsythia... as, to me... it's like a true sign that it IS Spring....

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Bill, between Holly's water features and the swimming pool I understand what you said about peepers, we practically have to close the windows and run the ac upstairs to sleep. We maintain our pool with a minimum of chemicals so a lot of mornings we skim the eggs off of the pool and move them to the ponds to run the filter. Ric

I forgot the Pic! I don't know if this is some kind of morph or the pool water causes the loss of pigmentation. Ric

South Hamilton, MA

Sure that it isn't ceramic & fooling you? After all Feb 1 is Monday. i've always liked Feb. Fool.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Most of them in the pool area look like that. We have at least 5 different frogs here. 2 types of tree frogs (their peeps are very different), leopard frogs, tree frogs (uncommon), and "big arsed" bull frogs (supper?). We seem to have more than 1 type of toad also, I haven't tried IDing them yet. We also find our share of newts and salamanders. We aren't totally pesticide and chemical free, but use as little as possible. I think it shows, Heck one year our veggie garden looked so natural a pair of indigo buntings nested there, what a great excuse to not weed. LOL Ric

Great deal of amphibians. Wonderful that you have that many which are not having problems.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

wierd

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wow that is very strange. Do you call him Casper? I would think that color would make him a prime target or let the predators know he doesn't taste very good. Since there are several I would guess the latter maybe.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

we have all kinds here as well ric - when you listen they all have an area the stay in so when they are peeping is it different sounds coming from all over - pretty cool

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure I want peepers around my pool! Do they wear long coats?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

grooooan

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, they probably do that too. Ewwww.

I dont like being confined in winter.

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

Well, I can't wait for most things that have been listed (other than the all over tan) sorry sun & I don't get along.
I think what I can't wait for the most is my grandson's lesson in taking the time to stop & smell EVERYTHING, yes, even the weeds, I so enjoy our walks & he is growing up so fast, We all need time to stop & smell the flowers, as David has taught me to do again..:)Anita

I have some new shrubs that bloom in the Spring. I'm very excited to see them with flowers for the first time. One of the varieties is Wheeler's Dwarf Pittosporum/ mock orange, which is supposed to have a great fragrance. Can't wait! Another is Viburnum Tinus, Spring Bouquet.

Fort Worth , TX(Zone 8b)

Oops -- I'm a Texas, not even close to the Northeast! However, we have had some very cold temperatures this year. We're all ready for Spring too.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Don't ya just love seeing new blooms for the first time! You will get your taste of spring before us up here so come back and share okay?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No need to apologize, NLaw. You are most welcome here!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Everyone welcome here, we have a saying that everyone is northeast of somewhere.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Absolutely!
As they say ... 'some of my best friends are ...'

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

You're in the right place, NLaw.

Fort Worth , TX(Zone 8b)

You are all so nice! I'll definitely post pictures of the first flowers.

Thanks for the welcome! :)

I can't wait to see if my late work of transplanting strawberries will bear fruit. I hope all the chipmunks have died over the winter. I know it sounds harsh, but they ate 80-90% of my strawberries last year!! I suppose if they moved 100 miles away that would be o.k. as well. I also can't wait to plant fruit bushes in the places that I cleared buckthorn out of.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

will be interesting to see how the chippie population here is in the spring - they were not seen much by the end of summer into fall - neighbors cat seemed to scare them off

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Hawk and local cats help to keep them in check here as well. I hate when they take one little bite of the strawberry and leave the rest. If ya gonna wreck it for the humans you fury fellows at least eat the whole darn thing.
