South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Jen does that gardenia smell nice and how big is that flower, I like it alot.
Weedy, name the DL for the wife!! Thats a very bright DL BTW, catches your eye instantly!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

You mean the daylily names Bill? You make your own DL's and call them what ever you want to! You could have a whole bed of rocks..name the DL's " Pink Quartz" ,"Bill's Erratics", "WHA's Knee Buster" ect....^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It smells wonderful but you have to get pretty close to it. Small flower maybe 2" in diameter. It is "Fragrant Pathways"

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thats what I was wondering about, the fragrance.....I was close to one at a GH and it was overpowering. Thank you!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Nice gardenia. I love those smelly blooms.
At least that DL will get noticed, very nice bright color SyWy. She deserves a DL named after her for sharing you with them.
Love that two toned purple DL pix. A real beauty.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wonderful daylilies and great dark colors with a very pretty begonia and a gardenia to brighten the day.

I am particularly fond of Black Barlow gorgeous color! I did not grow this, but I did provide the grower with encouragement! LOL! It is also richly colored...

Hahahaha!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I enjoyed this line from the article: In October 1934, after nine months at his home in Southwold...

Our town of Southold was settled by people from Southwold but somewhere along the way they dropped the "w".

South Hamilton, MA

'W' probably moved to my ancestor's name. Bostoch turned into Bostick & by the 3rd generation in this country all forms of it became Bostwick & no one knew where the 'w' came from. So we stole it from 'southwold'. Interesting.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Better that they may have stolen it from Southwold than from Wyoming or West Virginia or even Woodrow Wilson.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love all the blooms again today... begonia, dl, light & dark blooms.. all good!!!!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Was "w" stolen from two ewes?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

2 use?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Oe is I.

South Hamilton, MA

oodrow ilson would turn into Bostwwick--strange spelling.
