WOW rides through the Gypsy Camp

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

The colts won...they are going to the playoffs.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Yes, we are going to the Super Bowl! Colts 30 and NY 17.

The town is going to go crazy!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, is it possible to put your sink, stove, and fridge in some kind of triangle arrangement. They say that is the most efficient.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Good idea Moon.
Will run it by the master(lol) if he ever comes in the house.

I was thinking about putting the frig where the stove is , the dishwasher on right side of sink and the stove over where the frige is but more to the left. Counters running L shape, closing the hole and making a breakfast nook there.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Bravo, Moon!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I saw that Venice, DH is looking forward to the other game.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That's a good idea, JJ. You could have a nice little corner there with a table & hanging lamp, or something of that sort.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Yea Lynnie its the living room on the other side of that wall. The TV is above the fireplace in the LR so if you want to hear yourself think in the kitchen the wall needs to be there.
Corner cabinet..hmmm as long as it ddn't have one of those lazy susan's in it.

Venice I'm not sure how you would make a triangle in there?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, sorry the Jets didn't win.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, If the arangement is L-shaped, then your movement and foot pattern would still be in a triangle.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I wasn't rooting for them Venice. Was rooting for The Colts, cause that's where you are!

Besides, The Jets are in NYC, it sucks all the money out of the state, and doesn't leave any for poor ole Buffalo.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Lynnie you would have died if you'd seen my garbage can when the kids were little.
DH put a big 30 gal trash can in the kitchen so the garbage wouldn't get full so fast.
Good thing we didn't have the dog then..she would have thought it was a buffet. lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Venice is correct, JJ. It is not that the appliances and sink would be in an actual triangle, the distance from fridge to sink to stove would create a triangle if you drew a line from the edge of one counter to the sink area....wait, I don't think I explained that right...LOL...but hey....It would make a great pantry...LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I get it....your right it does.
The pantry is a great idea

I like the brick idea on the fireplace to instead of the plaster that is there. Hmmm that will take som talking or another contractor. LOL

Maybe I should start cooking ? that might help lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Now you have the hard part of convincing DH that your gypsy friends are brilliant designers....grin and yeah, you better feed him....well. LOL

Speaking of which...gotta go feed the kid...catch y'all later.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, the fridge, sink, and stove just should not be lined up in a row. They could be across from one another in a very small space, galley spacing, one step to reach the other side.

Be sure you have counter space on the side of the fridge with the handle so you can easily put things in and out.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Venice I will remember that.

Thanks for the ideas if you get any more let me know.

Need to go find some food.

Lynnie is probably already eating...
Catch you later

(Zone 5b)

I was eating *grin*
I have read the triangle thing too, my fridge is out of the way but it's not a bad flow of traffic. As long as sink, stove and dishwasher are close that's the important thing. Just do NOT put any doors near the door! My pantry and fridge and bathroom door all open into each other, so you can't walk in the bathroom if someone has the fridge door open, nor can you get into the pantry if the fridge door is open....it's just like my bedroom/bath/closet deal upstairs, it's retahded! You can't come into or out of the garage door if someone is in either the fridge or pantry......ugh!

JJ that's what I have, a 30 gallon trash barrel right next to my stove. Had a plastic one till the dog ate the lid (buffett yum) now I have a black & stainless one with a foot pedal, and the black blends into the black stove. If you go with an island you can put your stove in it, and have either a wall oven or just the regular one in the island. A pull out garbage pail. stools for the counter.

(Zone 5b)

a wall oven in the fireplace wall surrounded by brick ooooooh

(Zone 5b)

Venice I'm glad for you that your team won!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

DH is not a bricklayer Lynnie, and has no desire to learn.LOL Gave me one of those looks when I told him about the last brick idea.
He's not real thrilled with the pantry idea either. Have to give him a little time to figure out how to make it look like his idea...then it will be fine.

In other words I think he told me to do it..... but didn't really think I would start right away.
Will he never learn...lol

Better call it a night
Sweet dreams

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good morning! How about fruit fondue for breakfast? I'll start cutting fruit, Lynnie get up! I know you have that chocolate fountain!

That's a balanced breakfast, right?

(Zone 5b)

Morning! I'm up! Ok I'll plug the fountain in :)

(Zone 5b)

JJ I'm laughing ....I got the same thing over here ;) I also learned to ask big, settle smaller. My fieldstone wall started at 4 feet high
*grin*
bedroom started with taking the roof off the garage and expanding it over the gagrage ;)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning All. Hope everyone has a great day...replacing the floor in GS's bathroom today....this is to tide us over until all the flooring gets replaced later this year. Tired of trying to cover the concrete....grin

1 pot empty....2nd brewing...gonna be one of those.....grin

(Zone 5b)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

2 Hours of sleep and a ton left to do....when the going gets tough....the tough have coffee..grin

Jesup, GA

Good morning Moon Smiley Lynnie and JJ's. Moon sounds like you are still busy, busy. No rest for the weary right? Better try to find the time for a little R and R today! Smiley I'll have some chocolate for breakfast, pass it on girl! Lynnie then you can go burn it off for me. Grin....JJ's have you thought of getting a free standing pantry? Or do you want a built in? They make some realy nice free standing ones. Some have the casters that will lock in place. A friend of mine has one made out of cherry wood. It's very nice and beautiful. It has double doors and is big. It didnt come with the casters but her DH put some on it. Oh well ,just thought I would mention that to you. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe day!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Morning Dixie. You have yourself a great day too. Don't work too hard. I did take an R&R day Saturday....spent the morning with GS, went to his B-Ball game, took him to his Dad's and came home, put on some music and curled up with a book. Just made me really lazy on Sunday....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

My My, you have been busy girls! Planning blueprints, sounds like some pretty nifty ideas. I would have to see the whole place, can't picture anything with bits of pictures JJ I'm not as talented as the rest :-) Think broom closet with shelves overhead for storage of pantry items or dog food, whatever would work too. Moon thanks for picture of Dave, he is very handsome was expecting a lot older. My name is on his wall, Coool I feel honored! Had computer guy work on comp. yesterday, seems I picked up mallware somewhere, probably game sites that I let kids get on. Moon want to see pics of the floor. Hi Smiley, Lynnie, Venice and Dixie Poo! Sun is out now, but snow predicted tonight so gotta get er done. Catch yall later on. Have a wonderful prosperous Day. Hi Joy, hope you are happy and healthy and getting walks in with Sam.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Flowers...will do on the pics. Glad your computer is back up to snuff. Catch ya later...you don't push yourself too hard today, Girlie....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well you just follow your own advice too my friend! Stop to smell the coffee lol.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

After the second pot, all I can smell is coffee...lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

C'mon now, it's lunch time! Everybody break for lunch... I'm sick of eating by myself....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

And now it is almost time for your coffee break Smiley. For today's break I think we need chocolate croissants with some of the fresh ripe Louisiana strawberries that are coming in to season. Big ripe juicy sweet ones. Oh, and maybe a few thin slices of Swiss....ummmm, can you tell I haven't made it to lunch yet? grin....either that or I have been visited by Lynnie's appetite bug....lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Oh, I love swiss. Baby swiss even more. I'm putting my skates on, should be there in a little while.

If I get stuck in the Saints Parade, save me some.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I sure will....and I would not put it past there silly cajuns to still be parading last night's win....grin

Baby Swiss is guilty food....how can something called Baby anything taste so good....grin

Jesup, GA

Hi Moon and Smiley. Popping in for a moment...slow day at work, not that I'm complaining. OMG! The chocolate crossants and fresh strawberries.....need I say more! Moon what did I ever do to you to be tortured like this? Having to catch the drool with one of my puffs. Grin.. Want be satisfied until I can run by bakery! Have a good afternoon yall! I'm gonna fire up big wheel and burn rubber to get to the bakery!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

When Jacob was a baby we VCR'd a bunch of different music performances for him. There's an old Robbie Robertson tape we have, he was on SNL one night. It's from his Storyville CD, I can't pull the song out of my brain, but he had a bunch of cajun musicians backing him up.

At one point near the end, the one guy starts talking, I assume in Creole, and at the end he's saying "... going DOWNtown...". Always reminds me of celebrating in NO.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just be careful Dixie...ya can't eat croissants with a mailbox on your head....unless someone opens the door for you....grin
