WOW rides through the Gypsy Camp

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I heard your 'Aroo!!'

I do a lot of lurking on this place, sometimes not posting, and everything else has gone to the dogs. My desk is a mess, been trying to clean it up & take care of some paperwork. Then I got a new idea for a craft, can't talk about it unless it works, don't wanna jinx myself. I looks great in my minds eye, that usually means it doesn't transfer *quite* as well into reality.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

GRIN> I even clicked on V's wolf link and howled along with them....lol I know, you are as bad as I am about lurking....grin. Sometimes I just don't have anything to add, sometimes I don't have time to join the conversation, and sometimes I just need to think about what I've read. Heck, I spent 18 months on here without posting a single thing...LOL

I am sure if you are doing it, it will be lovely, but we won't jinx ya either...grin

(Zone 5b)

yay you guys are up!
morning Moon!
Smiley there's no such thing as jinxing on a gypsy thread, there's brainstorming so if you get stuck just holler! We're a clever bunch.

oh the waffles, you just sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter after you pour it on the waffle iron (or bananas, or blueberries, or apples) so only the person who wants them gets them, and that's me & little one. Older daughter likes hers with fruit go figure *grin*

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Certainly doesn't take after her Mom....grin

(Zone 5b)

18 months..i could never keep quiet that long lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, sometimes there's just nothing to add.

Your older daughter sounds like DS, Lynnie. He'd rather eat healthy. DD is like me, give me the chocolate. When they were about 8 & 5, my friend took them to the Fair with her. She made a big deal out of it, her & family would leave on a bus around 7:00am & come home on the last bus at night (she didn't drive then). So my kids slept over. We asked what we could bring for breakfast, she said grab a box of cereal, so we got cocoa puffs. She allowed chocolate cereal in her house, what can I say? That was the 1st time my kids ever had chocolate cereal.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I think my first post was asking about basil on some thread.....

I kept wondering why that lupine basil thread kept popping to the top. The rest is history. Thanks, you guys, for going off topic.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm off to surf for my crafty craft thing technique, see you later.

(Zone 5b)

I don't buy chocolate cereal either. My kids aren't big cereal eaters, they like eggs, pancakes, waffles, and fruit for breakfast. I always keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge and lots of fruit, and they eat wheat bread not white....on sundays we make waffles & freeze them (to me they're empty carbs, no different from having a donut so if I'm gonna eat them they'll have chocolate in them) i know growing kids need carbs, but I try to make them healthy complex carbs, but once in a while a chocolate chip waffle is ok. gotta live a little too. Normally my carbs would be wheat toast with peanut butter. Wheat bread and peanut butter together is a perfect protein, too.
ok getting off my nutrition soap box *grin*

(Zone 5b)

ok I'll be here on the couch when you're done I may not move today at all *grin*

I'll just sit here & wait for JJ & Dixie & Venice & Flowers & Marti & Joy & Imzadi & maybe Seeds or Jim will pop in... and I think Moon already went back to cleaning.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Moon was fighting with the coffee pot....no coffee...no function....grin

Lynnie, I use 50/50 mix of whole wheat flour/cake flour for waffles and pancakes. GS does not eat eggs or boxed cereals or mushrooms....we are not sure of his planet of origin....grin. his school morning breakfast is usually 12 grain whole wheat toast with peanut butter and Nutella and fruit/juice...in the winter we add oatmeal with fruit bits or cheddar grits. He had a DR appt last Monday and when he shook hands with the doc, his first question was "what are ya feeding this kid? He is as strong and healthy as an ox." There is something to be said for starting them asap on fruit and veggies....grin

Jesup, GA

Good morning all! All of this talk of chocolate....yum! I've been busy with this and that all weekend. Had the grands. last night. DD came for them a little while ago. Moon,WOW and LYNNIE sure are tooling around on a Sweet ride. Gonna have to let me and Flower's take it for a spin...gotta see how fast it'll go! Might better take it to the Salt Flats though. I dont think theres any mail boxes out there! If there is we'll find um. LOL...I'll see you guys in a while. Went and cleaned out POO ville. Want to do some things in the yard while weather is nice. It's supposed to rain today. Hope you all have a good day! Be back a little later.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Dixie Chick...have fun outside...we got that rain a couple days ago....everything here is still squishy and wet. Hugs to the Poo babies and their Coop Queen....catch ya later.

(Zone 5b)

morning dixie! i'll be here on the couch when you're done! i'm now too lazy to keep going back and capitalize proper nouns, so excuse my typos.

that's a good mix, moon, after I made that bread I decided i'd use half white half whole wheat next time, older kid will eat that hearty grain stuff, little one won't. little one is sooo much pickier, i think it's because she got sweets earlier than the older one. can't give one kid ice cream and not the other, ya know? younger one drove me nuts, at age 1 she went through crazy food stages. one month would only eat butter, another month it was yogurt, another month it was bbq sauce. I'd put the food on her plate but she only ate what she ate...her little fat hand would come straight out "No!" She drank lots of milk, still does.

(Zone 5b)

uh oh somebody bring me a power cord...battery is dying.....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

LOL Lynnie...a power cord a power cord. my kingdom for power....grin Shall they peel a Hershey's Kiss for ya too? Grin

I like the cake flour with whole wheat as it makes the mix not quite as "heavy". I must say though that GS could almost survive with nothing but Pasta, Pizza and Ice cream....and Honey mustard....grin

Amazing the dietary changes between the first born and those that follow. My DD was the picky eater...no pork and no "nerve chicken" she was probably the only kid that would not eat chicken nuggets...grin

(Zone 5b)

ack I had to go get it myself...my legs are sore, i only danced for about a half hour. too much cardio.
i like your suggestion of having them peel me some chocolate kisses moon I'll put it out there *grin*
i make chicken cutlets and cut them small and call them nuggets.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

She always ate chicken at home, cuz I am as picky about chicken as she is, but No Wendy's McD's or Burger King nuggets ever....grin

Thought you'd like that idea...grin

Here is a pic Gardenguykin did in support of Dave....and the buyout by IB.He listed as many names of members as he could without blanking out Dave...grin

(Zone 5b)

oh is that dave? not anything like i pictured

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yup, that is Dave. Have a good lie-down day Lynnie...gotta go...duty calls....lol

(Zone 5b)

but i'm hungry again! i need lunch....where's jj i bet she's eating lunch.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Lynnie, not eating lunch. Watchng HGTV.
DH says I have to decide where I want things in the kitchen. Every time I make a suggestion he says can't put it there. aarrrrr
Don't want to move the water and drain pipes..what a drag and then you got those baseboard heaters, he don't want to move.

I have no insite to things like this . I have to SEE it first, then I know if thats what I want.
Now he says get on that computer and do it. Free software I can use is hard to find..grin

Morning smiley, moon, dixie, venice

(Zone 5b)

I do hate my baseboard heaters! ok JJ draw the layout, we'll get 'er done.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

How bout I just take a picture?
Room is really small 11X12 I think .
Firplace chimney on one wall, door an baseboards on another wall and window in middle of other wall.

Jesup, GA

Hey every body! Finally got a little work in the yard done. Looks like it's gonna pour rain at any time. Now doing laundry. The fun never stops around here. What are you doing JJ'S, a kitchen reno? Lots of hard work envoled with that. We need to do ours as well....also need a new roof...Grin....also need to win the lottery....LOL! Lynnie wish I could lounge and have some one feed me Hershey Kisses. I love the Hugs as well! Moon had the right idea there! I'm sure DH would'nt mind hand feeding me little chocolates for a while.......I can dream cant I.....Grin. Gonna see if I can entice Smiley over in the mornings to make me breakfast as well.....Hear that Smiley??? Grin...Gotta go fold and hang clothes, see yall a little later. Oh forgot to tell yallI,have a new chicken. She just showed up one day and has been here since. Went all over neighbor hood no one seems to know who she belongs to. She lays eggs. We have named her Money Penny. Catch every later.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dixie, good for Penny. She knows where to go to be appreciated! Are you eating her eggs? Where is she laying them?

ATTENTION: Indy Colts vs. NY Jets at 3:00 today!!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Dixie,
Way over due kitchen remodel. He wants to do major overhaul and make it bigger...which requires moving two outside load bearing walls. I don't want that much demolition.
Just insulate tha walls, give me new and more cupboards and appliances and I will be happy.
Only thing we do agree on is that the soffit is removed and the cupboards will go to the ceiling..

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, did you say that the main floor of your house is cold because the cold comes up from the basement?

(Zone 5b)

11x 12, won't fit a lot of new cupboards...come on JJ show us pics!
it's cold & rainy here, if it doesn't warm up we'll be on ice.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

It is 51 degrees here! What? But still wet and gray.

Tough game!!!

Jesup, GA

Yall,go to thread....Daves Garden Rumors about Changes #2. And read what this guy named Potagere wrote. I swear theres got to be a bad apple or two....some where at all times it seems. Dave gave him a good response and I made a couple of comments as well.

(Zone 5b)

aaw no link Dixie chick? ;) shoot, making us work.
Since none of y'all fixed lunch I finally got off the couch and put a big pot of spaghetti sauce on.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

What ever you do JJ, make room for a pantry. I love mine. No food in cabinets, plenty of room for dishes and stuff. Take lots of pictures and we will help you figure out what you want....grin

You have MS Money Penny....cool Dixie...especially that she is paying her way with eggs....grin. How does GerttieMoon like her?

I see caps and punctuation....Lynnie you must be off the sofa....grin

Hey Venice. We have a big game here today too...New Orleans Saints vs Minn. Vikings. I think this game is for the play-offs. I don't watch football.

Jesup, GA

Lynnie quit being lazy! Ya have lounged long enough! Grin.....Gerttie dont play favorites Moon. If they get on her nerves she'll bump um out of the way....send them rollin. LOL!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I would love a pantry but I don't think ther'e any where to put one.
Oh the room from wall to wall is actually 13'4 x 11'8.
Here you go

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I put the chips on the top of cupboard to show where they will go on this wall and the other wall.
These are the only walls anything can go on.
Don't mind the mess

(Zone 5b)

ok so you (he) don't want to move any appliances, obviously windows & doors stay where they are, and that beautiful fireplace? can you draw a square wof the room and make a little line for where the doors & windows are? and a letter for where each appliance is? you know like so?
___________DR______

(Zone 5b)

ok that 2nd line is supposed to be on the right of my outline, don't know why it wouldn't come up that way, it's supposed to be your other wall lol
guess it would be easier to do it on paper & take a picture *grin*

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

This is the wall with fireplace chimney.
That opening looks into my living room. And you can't open the doors on the first cabinet because the diswasher is in the way.

Jesup, GA

JJ's are you doing a new back splash? With the age of your house the pressed tin would look very nice. They also make some that has the look of the old tin but I think its some sort of vinyl and not as pricie.
