This was the tail end of a fight between the resident male Red-Bellied and an intruder (probably one of their offspring). Resident on the line.

I haven't been around for a couple of days. All I have to say is AWESOME pics everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Yes really awesome pictures, Thanks everyone.

I don't even have any juncos this year, first time I can remember not to have them around.

Yesterday I did see two chickadees, but they are really fast to come in and grab a sunflower seed and find a branch too far away for a picture, to eat their snack.

It snowed a skiff in the night now raining steadily.

I'm in McKinney, TX for a week keeping the grandsons while dau and hubby are in NYC. When we were down here Christmas she complained that she never sees a bird in her yard. I bought a tube feeder and some suet and hung in a tree. When we got down here she said she has never seen a bird on it. I replied that half the food was gone, so something has been feeding there.

Saw a lone dove on the feeder a short while later. While grilling some steaks late yesterday afternoon, two goldfinches came in. I put up a thistle feeder this morning and sprinkled some feed around on the ground under it. I always say, 'Build it and they will come.'

Lonesome dove.

Has anyone else had their Junco's disappear on them? Normally have about a dozen, but haven't seen them in a week.

A couple of shots from today, sun was out in between snow squall's this afternoon.

I have never seen a waxwing in my yard. Can someone tell me what to feed or plant that will attract them?

I ordered WILD BIRD magazine today. I am looking forward to trying it out.

Has anyone been on the eagle tours at KY Lake?

Sandusky, OH

If Elvis is not at the suet feeder a Downy surely will be. Another male Red-bellied WP showed up today, maybe he will come to the tray feeder since Elvis will not.

Cleaned and refilled the feeder's today, not too many visitors showed but the White-breasted Nuthatches were allowed to be more selective since the Starlings have been gone.

Oh, cute
I had one of those today on the suet feeder.

I wonder what sort of cross breeding created these. There were five of them altogether at this lake.

To Bluegrassmom: I have seen cedar waxwings eating the berries off my hawthorn trees in past years. They do not show up every year. Neat birds!

Cupertino, CA(Zone 9a)

AWE!!!! Great photos!!

Missy, that last pic of the waxwing should go in the caption thread. It's sooo funny ROTFL

South Hamilton, MA

Just printed out my Great bird count ta;;y sheets. I think we have fewer types of bird types on the feeder. the red bellied wp checking out the suet feeder (with a tailboard) has not been seen again. I suppose its regular supply of food in holding out.
